APRIL & MAY 2010 VFW NEWSLETTER COMMANOER'S COMMENTS Comrades & Sisters: My last newsletter due to the fact that it was voted that we will have a newsletter once every two months. This will help keep the cost down. Also, if you have e. mail please send that to the post quartermaster. That will also help our cost. We have our Annual Bowling Tournament coming up on Sunday, April 18th at Westwood Lanes in Ft. Wayne. The cost is the same as last year-$20' and sign up will start at 11 :30 so don't be late. Please, let's get together a bunch of bowlers and have a great time this year. Sign up sheets for the Tournament at the bar. You do not need to have a "team' since we will be giving out individual prizes. Our Loyalty Day Program will be held on Saturday, May 1st at the Veteran's Shrine on O'Day Road in Ft. Wayne. The program will start at noon with Past Department Commander,John Dahman being the guest speaker. We will have a short program and the District will furnish Sloppy Joes, Coffee and Ice Tea. Members are asked to bring a dish and any other drinks they would like to have. Please mark this on your calendar. On May 7th & 8th we will be selling poppys again. We do need help. Please sign up. May 16th we will once again need help putting flags out. Memorial Day is at the American Legion Post 86 11am on May 31st. Chicken BBQ is May 28 & 29 11am-? with Ladies' Auxiliary Bake Sale Saturday Only.
