Loft in BeirutBeirut, LebanonWorkshop: Residential Design, 2013

Capture the essence of a loft, a space caracterized by its open, communicating rooms, zen light, while keeping it intimate andcosy.

I decided to work on a mezzanine that is the means of commu-nication between with the different spaces given in the brief. The concept is based on 2 floating cubic volumes attached to the mezzanine which create this communication, this game of appear-ance and disappearance in the loft, the game of intmacy in an pen space all the while creating defined spaces. All rooms have a big access to light.

Milan Suite Hotel | La PasserellaMilan, ItalyWorkshop: Restaurant Design, 2014

Located in the Milan Suite Hotel, a hotel mainly dedicated to busi-ness entrepreneurs, La Passerella, an avant-garde concept, is a restaurant which depicts the widely known fashion aspect of the city of Milan. The heart of the project is the Lounge area, which also serves as a catwalk for events such as Milan Fashion Week or other perfor-mances. This peculiar stage from which the client enters, is em-phasized by a set of barisol fixtures held by the various I profiles and ends with a glazed glass window demonstrating silhouettes of the chef working. Deconstruction, rythm, and dynamism describe best the plan’s layout, with the various functions in a wide range of taupe colours, with exception the WC which are completely bathed in different materials of Orange, a warm and key colour of the Hotel, breaking the sobriety of the general space.

The custom made bar is made out of Parapan since it is a material that can easily be cut through autocad. Therefore, the various dynamic shapes and measurements are easily pro-duced.

Seen through the eyes of a child, a tap is a magical object, sur-prising and enchanting. A metal sculpture which with a simple touch, becomes flowing water, lively, bubbly and full of energy. Nature and design merge, following different lines of thought and inspiration. It is not just an ordinary tap. The concept is that of the interaction between the tap and the client. Each tap is connected to a specific song embodying the esthestics and mood of it. It is also the guide towards a projection which shows a short movie scene followed by specific details of the model. 4 taps 4 songs 4 projections 4 light fixtures, each repre-senting a specific period of time whether the 00’s, 50’s, 30’s or 70’s. A contemporary structure,representing the present, is what holds up the scenes together keeping the circulation linear and homoge-neous.

VILLA ARCONATI | EXPO 2015 | BARILLAMilan, ItalyWorkshop: Food Exhibition Design, 2014

Located in Villa Arconati, one of the most beautiful and majes-tic pleasure villas of Milan, a food exhibition concerning EXPO 2015 takes place and is being sponsored by leading Italian food com-pany Barilla, a leader in the markets for pasta worldwide, for ready made sauces in Europe and for bakery products in Italy. This project is a stroll in time, it is an hommage to the culture of pasta in Italy but then again a glance at Barilla in terms of tech-nology, advancement and creativity, hence the linear approach of the outdoor area (a path in which installations representing the evolution of pasta making) which leads to the limonaia, the future, introducing the steps of how to make your own pasta, your own shape, through 3d printing, a technology Barilla has already started studying and applying.

Villa on the ShoresideBarbara, LebanonWorkshop: Residential Architecture, 2013

Build a villa, in Barbara, Lebanon on a defined territory. Take into consideration the surroundings of this local, the nature, the climate conditions, and pay attention to the winds, as to know where to place the specific functions required in the brief. The idea came at first from the strata of the terrain. It then devel-opped into a sort of shell englobing a space in glass, trying to mesh the nature and the architecture through its composition and con-crete, raw, neutral material.

STEVEN HOLL EXHIBITION CENTER | HOMMAGEBeirut, LebanonWorkshop: Commercial Architecture, 2013

Choose a reknowned architect, research his works, analyze his style and create a local where he will exhibiti his projects.This place should resemble him and his work for it is a tribute to the architect. Steven Holl was my choice and his main trademarks I choose to focus on are: the perforations in his works, the constant relation between water planes and his facades which he uses to deform instead of simply reflecting them and the constant link between two or multiple buildings. Inspired by the Hangzou Triaxal Field, combined with a project I had done (cf model) in 2nd year of university, the result is the com-munication between two different but complementary bodies.
