Introduction
The writer and fellow consulting geologist Dr. S.P. Ogryzlo, Toronto, Ontario, performed rock sampling and geological eval uation field work on these claims on October 23, 1988.
The objective of this report is to record this work, along with a compilation of geological - geophysical field observations made by the writer while supervising and/or performing line- cutting and magnetic surveys for 5 days during period November 1, 1987 to January 31, 1988.
Claims
The 5 claims numbered PA963432 - PA963436 were recorded Dec. 16, 1986. The claims are owned by Norad Resources Ltd., Rm. 1507, 80 Richmond St. V., Toronto, Ontario M5H 2A4.
The claims are located 24 miles northeast of Dryden, Ont. in McAree Twp. and adjoin the south boundary of the Camreco and Goldlund Nines Ltd. properties.
Geology of Region
The regional geology as shown on O.G.S. map 2443 consists of deformed steeply dipping northeast trending bands of volcanic and sedimentary Precambrian rocks. The mafic to felsic meta- volcanic bands and clastic chemical metasediments are occasion ally intruded by large and small granitic masses, quartz feld spar porphyry dykes and quartz veins.
Economic Geology
Gold is the principal economic mineral targeted at the Gold lund Mines Ltd. and Camreco Inc. deposits located one mile north of claim PA963432.
Ontario Geological Survey map I P3068 indicates that a hornblende metavolcanic rock band, trending southwest from Camreco Inc. and outcropping on claim PA963432. has good potential for gold.
Previous Work
Prospecting has been performed intermittently since gold was discovered at Goldlund Nines Ltd. in 1940. Airborne sur veys have been performed for base metals.
In 1977 D. Vilkinson explored and probably drill tested the iron formation near line 25E 3S. About 300* of drill core is located nearby.

Work Performed
Rock Sampling
During the November, 1987 linecutting and January, 1988 magnetic survey on the lake ice, the writer rock sampled as below.
a) 1650E, 350'S - A grab sample from a sheared rusty quartz carbonate outcrop on north shore of Tom Chief Lake con tained no gold.
b) 2700E, 350'S - About 300' of partly spilled drill coreshows a 20* mineralized section of banded quartz, pyrite, magnetite and pyrrhotite. A composite sample of metallic minerals assayed trace of gold.
On Oct. 23, 1988, the writer and S.P. Ogryzlo inspected rocks, structures and selected rock samples for assay as below.

Geological Evaluation
Topography: The area has about 80* maximum relief, is well treed and has a few northeast trending outcrop ridges. A 20* high northeast trending outcrop ridge occurs at 800* north on L21E. Outcrop also occurs along the west and north shore of Tom Chief Lake.
The generally near flat topography, large 2|' diameter trees and 20* clay lakeshore cliffs at L21E, 450'S indicate heavy overburden.
A swampy flooded beaver dam area occurs in the northwest quarter of claim PA963434.
Approximate land slope directions and amount are shown on enclosed Compilation Map.

Work Performed, cont'd.
Structure: The altered and metamorphosed rocks trend north east usually parallel to the steeply dipping schistosity. Schistosity change along north and west shores of Tom Chief Lake suggests flexure is present.
Because of the pronounced topographic low atthe creek entrance, angular 4* drift blocks and flexures in the schistosity, a northeast trending fault is inferred to transect the Base Line at 1400'E.
A gully, geological contact and/or fault de pression may trend northeast from L21E, 300'N to L25E, 450'N.
Favorable Host Rocks; O.G.S. Map P3068 suggests the horn blende - phyric metavolcanics trending southwest toward the creek entrance at Base Line 1400'E is a potentially favorable host rock for gold.
The iron formation probably underlying magneticanomalies A and B at Tom Chief Lake also has good potential for gold mineralization.
Geophysical Compilation
Magnetics from the Norad Mines Ltd. November, 1987 and January, 1988 surveys as plotted on enclosed Compilation Map are summarized below.
Two high magnetic bands underlie Tom Chief Lake as described below.
Anomaly A is 1200* long, 50' to 200* wide and trends along the northwest shore of Tom Chief Lake exhibiting magnetic re lief of 500 to 2000 gammas.
Anomaly B is 1400' long, 100* to 600' wide and trends east erly near the northeast shore of Tom Chief Lake with magnetic relief of 500 to 6000 gammas.
Electromagnetic EM-16 conductors delineated on the December 6, 1988 Norad Mines Ltd. survey are plotted on the enclosed Compilation Map and summarized below.

Conductor C, is a low intensity conductor of +3% to -5% in phase vertical field tilt change over 100' occurring on 3 to 5 north sloping ground.

Conductor C~ has sharp high intensity with +452 to -70% tilt change over 100 occurring on south sloping land along the north shore of Tom Chief Lake.
High west trending magnetics, probably caused by iron formation, underlie this conductor.
The centre of the conductor is about 100* below the ground surface.
Line 9E. 425'S
Conductor Cj extends east at least 400*'to line 9E. Here conductor C«is again sharp, with +13Z to -62" tilt change over 100* and is again associated with high magnetics. An old trench may be present near this 25 south sloping land along the north shore of Tom Chief Lake.
Conductor C3 Line 13E, 375'M
Conductor C^ has medium intensity with +15Z to -18Z tilt change over 100* and occurs on the south 20 slope of a knoll. A gully is located 50* to the south.
Conductor C^ Line 13E, 525'M
Conductor C. has low intensity with + 31 to -9Z tilt change over 100* and occurs at the top of a north facing slope.
Conductor C, Line 13E. 800*N
Conductor C~ has low intensity with +7Z to -2Z tilt change over 100*. Conductor C, occurs at the bottom of a northeast slope along the south side of a swamp and beaver dam.
Conductor C6 Tilt Change Z Over 100*
Line 17E. 175'N +20 to -10" 21E. 375'N +10 to - 5" 25E, 500'N + 1 to - 2
Conductor C, is inferred to extend northeast for 1000' from 175' north on LITE to 500'N on L25E. A gully, contact and/or fault may trend parallel and SO* south of conductor C,. from L21E tp L25E. The tilt angle or magnetic intensity over 100* varies from medium on L17E to low on L25E as shown above.

Conductor C ? Line 17E, 375'N
Conductor C ? has high intensity with + 25 to -63% tilt angle change over 100 and occurs on a steep 30 south slope 50' north of a gully.
Conductor Cfl Line 21E, 175'N
Conductor CR has low intensity with +10 to -2% tilt angle over 100* and occurs near the top of a 15 northwest facing slope.
Conductor CQ Line 25E, 975'N
Conductor C-has low intensity with +3 to -7% tilt angle over 50* and occurs at the top of a ridge about 30* high.
Conductor CIQ Line 21E, 1275'N
Conductor C,Q is a low intensity conductor with +3 to -1% tilt angle change over 100* and occurs in flat topography.
Conclusions & Recommendations
Rocks potentially favorable for gold deposits occur on the claims only one mile .south of the Camreco Inc. and Goldlund Nines Ltd. gold deposits.
Investigation of the magnetic anomalies, EN-16 conductors and hornblende - phyric metavolcanic rock band is recommended with a view to finding gold in iron formation or fracture - shear zones.
Additional work recommended is listed below.
1. Sampling and assaying of drift, outcrop, sandy soils andbasal till to locate gold values, especially in magnetically anomalous areas.
2. Linecutting at 200* intervals in areas of interest.
3. A combined NAX NIN and magnetic survey to further define drill targets such as
a) shear zones near iron formation and acid volcanic and/ or sediment contacts.

b) fracture zones in competent rock.
c) conductors.
Diamond drilling is warranted but recommendations should await results of above additional field work.

A ground EM 16 VLF electromagnetic survey was supervised by the writer on November 22, 1988 on claims PA963434 and PA963432.
Geological observations were restricted due to 2 feet of snow cover.
Location
The Ton Chief Lake claims located in McAree Twp. adjoin the south boundary of the Camreco and Goldlund Nines Limited properties.
Highway 72 connecting Dryden and Sioux Lookout is located £ mile southeast. Sioux Lookout is located about 24 miles northeast and Dryden about 26 miles southwest of the Tom Chief Claim Group.

Linecutting
The lines were well cut in November, 1987 for a magnetic survey. The lines are spaced at 400* intervals with pickets every 100'. The pickets were standing and legible in November 1988.
Geology
The claims are mainly underlain by sediments and felsic volcanic-~ rocks.
The regional trend of the rock formations is northeast as shown on the 1" - i mile O.G.S. geological compilation map.

Electromagnetic (EM 16) Survey
Objective
The objective of the survey was to delineate electromagnetic conductors caused by geological contacts, shear zones and metallic sulfides.
Operator
Ken Bernier, an experienced operator from Sioux Lookout, recorded the field readings.
Instrument
(A) Description
The Geonics Limited EN16 instrument is a sensitive radio tuned to receive very low frequency (VLF) marine commun ication signals.
Transmitter stations are located at Cutler, Maine (NAA) frequency 17.8 kHz and Seattle, Washington (NPG) frequency 18.6 kHz.
The transmitter station projects from a vertical antenna a concentric horizontal magnetic field.
As this radio signal or magnetic field passes over conductive bodies in the ground, secondary fields are made to radiate from these bodies.
The EM16 equipment measures the vertical component of these secondary fields.
The EM16 receiver has 2 input coils. One, with anormally vertical axis, is wound along the length of the handleand the other wound in the short lower end of the handle isnormally horizontal when no conductive bodies are present.
(B) Operation
Survey lines should be approximately at right angles to the transmitting station and thereby parallel to the primary magnetic field transmitted. The transmitting station direction is located by holding the instrument horizontal and turning until the signal heard is minimum. This minimum signal direction

occurs when the magnetic field is at right angles to the receiv ing coil inside the long handle. In short, the signal is ninimua when the horizontal instrument is pointed toward the transmit ting station.
Surrey station in phase Tertical field readings of the tilt angle of the instrument are taken on a clinometer after finding the minimum signal strength by rotating up and down with the reference coil (in the lower end of the handle) perpendicular to the transmitting station. The out of phase dial is simultan eously tuned to more precisely locate the null position and pro- Tides a percentage measure of the out of phase quadrature Tertical signal.
(C) Accuracy
Readings can be taken with an accuracy of 1% resolution.
The location of near surface conductors can be determined within a few feet.
Field Surrey
In phase and out of phase readings of the Tertical field were taken at 50* interrals along the lines.
Tilt angle readings for minimum sound from Cutler, Maine, 17.8 kHz radio frequency, were taken always facing northeasteeiy.
A total of 406 readings were taken at 203 stations.

The electromagnetic EN16 surrey delineated 10 conductors C, to C,Q as located on enclosed map and described below.

Conductor C, is a low intensity conductor of +3% to -5% in phase Tertical field tilt change orer 100' occurring on 3 to 5 north sloping ground.

Conductor C~ has sharp high intensity with +45% to -70% tilt change over 100 occurring on south sloping land along the north shore of Tom Chief Lake.
High west trending magnetics, probably caused by iron formation, underlie this conductor.
The centre of the conductor is about 100* below the ground surface.
Line 9E. 425'S
Conductor C~ extends east at least 400*'to line 9B. Here conductor C-is again sharp, with +13Z to -622 tilt change over 100* and is again associated with high magnetics. An old trench may be present near this 25 south sloping land along the north shore of Tom Chief Lake.
Conductor C3 Line 13E, 375'N
Conductor C_ has medium intensity with +15S to -18% tilt change over 100* and occurs on the south 20 slope of a knoll. A gully is located 50* to the south.
Conductor C^ Line 13E, 525'N
Conductor C^ has low intensity with + 3% to -9Z tilt change over 100* and occurs at the top of a north facing slope.
Conductor C^ Line 13E, 800*N

Conductor Cghas low intensity with -HO to -21 tilt angle over 100* and occurs^near the top of a 15 northwest facing slope.
Conductor C^ Line 25E, 975*11
Conductor Cg has low intensity with +3 to -7Z tilt angle over 50* and occurs at the top of a ridge about 30* high.

Conductor C, Q is a low Intensity conductor with +3 to -1Z tilt angle change over 100* and occurs in flat topography.
Conclusions
JThe elctromagnetic EN16 survey delineated at least 10 con ductors.
The 400* long high intensity conductor Cjis co-incident with a high magnetic anomaly probably caused by iron formation.
A 1000* long conductor C, of variable intensity appears to trend northeast parallel to and SO* north of a gully, contact and/or fault.
Recommendations
A summer field investigation to determine the cause of each conductor is warranted prior to diamond drilling.

Geological observations were restricted by 6 inches to 2 feet of snow cover.
Location
The claims adjoin the southeast side of the Goldlund Mines Ltd. gold property and are transected for 2 3/4 miles by Highway 72. Sioux Lookout is about 20 miles northeast and Dryden about 30 miles southwest.
Franciscan Lake and creek partially underlie the northern., claims.

Linecutting
A total of 20.8 miles of lines were cut in November. 1987 and January, 1988 for a magnetic survey. The lines are spaced at 400' intervals with pickets every 100*.
Most pickets from the November, 1987 cutting were stand ing and legible. Rechaining and picketing of the January, 1988 lines in the beaver dam area was performed.
Geology
The Franciscan Lake claims are underlain by felsic vol- canics, iron formation and greywacke type biotite - quartz schist sediments.

The rocks generally trend northeast parallel to Hwy 72 with frequent folds, crenulations and intense fracturing. The iron formation is reported to contain up to 40% magnetite.
Previous surveys on or near the Norad claims report gold assays of 0.06 oz/ton associated with pyroclastics near iron formations.
Reconnaissance geological observations are shown on the Magnetometer map, Feb. 10/88, by Norad Resources Ltd.
The Goldlund and Camreco gold deposits are located about 1 mile west of the Norad claims. The Goldlund deposit occurs in fractured zones of a 60* wide competent quartz diorite rock band trending northeasterly parallel to the Norad claims.

The objective of the survey was to delineate electromag netic conductors caused by geological contacts, shear zones and metallic sulfides.

Erwin Hamilton operated the EM 16 instrument. David Weaver, a student from Dryden, assisted by trail breaking, etc. after a 2* snowfall.
Instrument
(A) Description
The Geonics Limited EM16 instrument is a sensitive radio tuned to receive very low frequency (VLF) marine com munication signals.
Transmitter stations are located at Cutler, Maine (NAA) frequency 17.8 kHz and Seattle, Washington (NPG) frequency 18.6 kHz.
The transmitter station projects from a vertical antenna a concentric horizontal magnetic field.
As this radio signal or magnetic field passes over conductive bodies in the ground, secondary fields are made to radiate from these bodies.

The EM16 equipment measures the vertical component of these secondary fields.
The EM16 receiver has 2 input coils. One, with a normally vertical axis, is wound along the length of the handle and the other wound in the short lower end of the handle is normally horizontal when no conductive bodies are present.
(B) Operation
Survey lines should be approximately at right angles to the transmitting station and thereby parallel to the primary magnetic field transmitted. The transmitting station direction is located by holding the instrument horizontal and turning until the signal heard is minimum. This minimum signal dir- rection occurs when the magnetic field is at right angles to the receiving coil inside the long handle. In short, the signal is minimum when the horizontal instrument is pointed toward the transmitting station.
Survey station in phase vertical field readings of the tilt angle of the instrument are taken on a clinometer after finding the minimum signal strength by rotating up and down with the reference coil (in the lower end of the handle) perpendicular to the transmitting station. The out of phase dial is simultaneously tuned to more precisely locate the null position and provides a percentage measure of the out of phase quadrature vertical signal.
(C) Accuracy
Readings can be taken with an accuracy of 1% resolution.
The location of near surface conductors can be determined within a few feet.
Field Survey
In phase and out of phase readings of the vertical field were taken at 50* intervals along the lines.
Tilt angle readings for minimum sound from Cutler. Maine, 17.8 kHz radio frequency, were taken always facing northeasterly,

Results of EM16 Survey
The electromagnetic EM16 survey delineated many conductors, as shown on enclosed map. The most significant of these conductors are described below.
Conductor No. 1 50'N L76E to 600'N L96E
Conductor II is a sharp 2000* long high intensity (40% tilt angle) anomaly caused by a power line. The power line trends towards Sioux Lookout along the south highway ditch from a transformer ? shack at L76E.
Conductor No. 2 725'N L44E to 475'N L60E
This northeast trending 1600* long anomaly exhibits tilt angles up to 70Z and occurs in flat to gently sloping treed land. This conductor parallels the iron formation band and co-incident Conductor 14 600* to the south. No outcrop was observed but felsic volcanic rocks occur nearby.
The cause of the conductor is unknown.
Conductor No. 3 75 f S L36E to 475'S L52E
This 1600* long medium intensity conductor has up to 15% tilt angles and trends northeast along a 15* ridge parallel to the highway.
The ridge beside the highway at L44E may be caused by a hard weather resistant low grade iron formation. No outcrop was observed.
Conductor No. 4 475'N L32E to 775'S L80E
This 3600* long intermittent and sinuous conductor has sharp 60% tilt angles, trends easterly in flat ground across Highway 72, overlies high magnetics and is caused by iron formation.
No outcrop was observed between L32E and L60E. A 15* high ridge with iron formation outcrops near 375'S L64E and 700'S L68E.
Conductor No. 5 50*S L24E to 325'S L32E
This 800* long 10% tilt angle low intensity conductor trends easterly from Highway 72 parallel to the iron formation

band at Conductor #4. The land is treed with spruce and poplar. No outcrop was observed.
The cause of the conductor is unknown.
Conductor No. 6 800'S L2E to 2200'S L2W
This 2000* long conductor delineates the contact of a folded iron formation along a topographic high. This conductor is caused by iron formation and has sharp 55% tilt angles.
Outcrop is present at 800'S L2E and 2200'S L6E. Massive northeast trending iron sulfide and iron oxide bands occur near 2200'S L2E.
Conductor No«. 7 1400'S L14W to 1600'S L10W
This 600* long low intensity northeast trending conductor occurs on the south slope of a 35* hill of pine trees.
The cause of the conductor is unknown.
Conductor No. 8 625'S L30W
This one line high intensity (75Z tilt angle) conductor occurs on spruce covered 5 degree east sloping ground.
The cause of the conductor is unknown.
Conductor No. 9 625'N L34W to 150'N L26W
This 800' long conductor appears to delineate a creek bed at or near the bottom of a south sloping hill.
The cause of the conductor is uncertain.
Conductor No.10 875'M L38W to 775'N L26W
This 1200' long northeast trending high intensity (90Z tilt angle) conductor occurs along a south sloping hill side. A 10' ridge occurs at 950'N L30W.
The cause of the conductor is uncertain.

Conductor No.11 1275'N L38W to 1175'N L26W
This 1200* long intense conductor with tilt angles up to 80% occurs at or near the top of a ridge on a south sloping hill. Yellow stained outcrop, possibly iron formation, is present at 1300' north on L26V.
This conductor is probably caused by iron formation.
Conductor No.12 2425'N L41W to 2175'N L34W
This medium to low intensity conductor at 2525'N L38V occurs near the bottom of a steep outcrop hill.
The conductor probably occurs at a geological contact but the cause is uncertain.
Conductor No.13 125'S L62W to 275'S L58W
This 400* long low intensity 5% tilt angle conductor trends northeasterly and occurs in swampy low ground but the cause is uncertain.
Conductor No.14 225'N L66W to 25'S L38W
This 2800* long high to low intensity conductor trends northeast beneath Highway 72. At 25'S L58U the change in tilt angle over 50* is 100Z, indicating intense conductirity.
This conductor may be caused by a buried highway pipe, underground cable or a geological contact, etc.
Further inrestigation is warranted.
Conductor No.15 975'N L62W to 825'N L54W
This 1200* long medium to low intensity northeast trend ing conductor occurs at the top of a gently north sloping ridge at 825'N L54W.
This conductor may occur at a geological contact but the cause is uncertain.
Conductor No.16 Northwest corner of claim 963424,L66V to L58U
The 5 conductors in this area delineate the boundaries of a swamp.
It is possible but unlikely that conducting ore minerals are present.
Conductor No.17 925'S L14W to 1575'S L2E
This 1600* long low intensity conductor delineates swampy or low ground at the bottom of a north sloping hill.
This anomalous conductivity is probably caused by the increased water content along the swamp boundary, but the cause remains somewhat uncertain.
Conductor No.18 1275'S L52E
This one line medium intensity conductor shows 23% tilt angle change over 100*. The conductor is located at the bottom of a southeast trending gully where a 2* creek enters swampy flat ground.
The increased water content along the swamp boundary probably caused this conductor.
Conclusions
The cause of many of the above conductors is unknown.
Conductors 14 and £6 are caused by pyrrhotite, magnetite and pyrite in iron formation.
Conductors 110 and 111 are probably also associated with iron formation.
Conductors 19, 113, 116, #17 and 118 are associated with low wet or swampy ground.
Favorable felsic volcanic rocks are present near many of these conductors, such as Conductor 12 on the south side of Franciscan Lake.
The iron formation, being hard and resistant to weather ing, usually forms ridges and bedrock controlled topography.
Diamond drilling of selected conductors for gold and base metals is warranted.
8.
Recommendations
Each conductor should be further investigated next summer. After trenching, soil and rock assay sampling, where warranted, selected targets should be diamond drilled to test for base metals and gold.
