Discussion items: 1. New PCAH 7 th Edition – N. Brown. Nicole announced there is a new 7 th edition of the PCAH and asked if the discipline members were aware of it and if they wanted a PDF copy. Dr. Lee agreed to have hard copies made to be given to the curriculum committee members. Nicole will facilitate that order to be processed and will bring them to the meeting when they are delivered. Nicole also discussed that there were numerous revisions to the PCAH that faculty need to be made aware of such as course sequencing listed in the Program Requirements section of the Program Narrative. ALL Apprenticeship Proposals require additional supporting documentation including a California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) approval letter. Without it, the course will be rejected from the state. Please look over the PCAH 7 th edition to make sure you are providing all the elements required by the state; otherwise, it will be rejected and delayed.

2. New META Field - N. Brown. Nicole wanted to bring awareness to the new data elements in META that is required for all new course proposals. This is found under the Cover section of the Proposal History. CB08, CB09 and CB13 must be completed properly in order for the course to be submitted. These are requirement fields, so the course will not launch unless they are completed. These fields are drop-down and very user-friendly. Any questions, please contact Nicole Brown to help guide you to ensure the correct information is reflected.
3. User Friendly Check off List forms – N. Brown. Nicole is working on updating the forms recently created that faculty can use to ensure that they have gathered all the elements needed for particular course or program they wish to create or modify. When they are completed, Nicole received approval from the Curriculum chair to post them to the Curriculum committee website with direct links to download the PDF. Nicole will send out an email to the curriculum committee to announce they are available for use.

S. Open Forum:
1. LOT Courses and Certificate programs. Glen Graham wants to remove them completely. Not written in CTE fashion to what Norco can now offer. Delete all programs and courses.
2. ESL Certificates – RCC already created theirs and MVC and NORCO needs to their own as well to be submitted to the state.
3. Changes to submit programs to the state. No longer 18 units minimum. New rule it
is now 17 units minimum, so the CTE program Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator will need to submit the required documentation as listed in the 7th edition of the PCAH to IPSC Nicole Brown so I can be state approved. Rex Beck will be working on that.
4. GAM Degrees and Certificates: 3D Game Modeling and Animation, Game Concept
Art, and Game Development Core are missing their LMI data. Dr. Parks will be working on that so Nicole Brown can submit the complete records to the state for approval. These programs will not make the 20/21 Course Catalog.
5. Older degree’s that were coded in error. Nicole Brown contacted the state and we
information and requirements now enforced. Nicole has emailed the departments for those degrees back on 2/4/20 and is awaiting documentation so she can resubmit to the state. Brian Johnson will contact district on this issue and copy Nicole Brown in their email. • Music – Control #36661. Listed as A.S. Degree, should be A.A. 6. JOU-20A through 20D Courses: These courses exist in Norco’s inventory, they are in the catalog, and are in active in COCI, but it looks like Norco has been removed were informed that we must resubmit for correction but must now have all current from the proposal. Nicole emailed Dr. Fulbright, B. Johnson to ask for clarification if Norco intend to exclude these courses. Brian Johnson will contact district for additional information and copy Nicole on the email.
7. ENG-91 repeatability. Still set in Colleague as repeatable. Discovered that it was coded incorrectly in META and that is why it was created that way in Colleague. Brian Johnson will take this course to Tech Review to move through the curriculum process to get it changed.
8. ACCREDIATION MONDAY!! It’s here Folks! Dr. Lee made the announcement that the Kick Off event will be at 9 am in the Art Gallery. Dr. Lee provided extra copies of the ISER and other documents for the committee members. The ACCJC interview schedule will be sent out this Friday February 28th. Topics of possible discussion is Curriculum, Program Review, Assessment and Planning. Think about how SLO or Achievement in Assessment in your programs. Your Goals? Think about how assessment in y our classroom has brought about change in your program? Please share with your colleagues.

Statement of Purpose
The curriculum committee, a sub-committee of the academic senate, has two primary purposes: to review and approve new curriculum including new courses, course modifications, new programs and program modifications, and to review and approve the curriculum approval process. The college curriculum committee is the sole approving body for Norco College only curriculum. For district shared curriculum it has one vote in the district curriculum committee. The curriculum committee is also responsible for keeping abreast with state mandated curriculum changes and reporting those changes to faculty. Committee members report on curriculum at their department meetings and solicit suggestions and recommendations when needed.
