labels (read and write) but also to read 1D and 2D codes.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE

The mobile computer runs under Microsoft® Windows® CE, i.e. the fa-

miliar operating system. The illuminated colour display (portrait) can be

controlled with a touch pen or your fi nger and ensures good readability

under all light conditions. The high-performance 32 bit processor uses up

to 128 MB RAM and 64 MB fl ash memory. Moreover, an

additional fl ash memory of nearly any size can be

integrated using the SD/MMC card slot.

The Nordic ID PL3000 Advanced UHF RFID 200 mW combines innovative

UHF-RFID technique with a outstanding reading performance. The device is

not only able to process single RFID labels and batch capturing but also to

device’s high performance RFID reader can read tags from a distance of up

ERGONOMIC AND POWERFUL

In practice, the Nordic ID PL3000 proves to be user-friendly and cost-

effi cient. With its ergonomic design, the sturdy mini computer is quick-

ly operated with one hand. Only brief user instructions are required on

account of the intuitively operated Windows® interface meanint that you

are immediately able to work on the new system and benefi t from it. The

computer’s large, illuminated colour display ensures good readability

under all light conditions. You can use a touch pen or your fi nger and its

low power consumption guarantees a long service life even for RFID ope-

ration.

The handheld scanner comes with the operating system

Windows® Embedded CE 6.0 and provides large capacities

for quick and easy data processing, for the powerful 32

bit processor accesses up to 128 MB RAM and 32 MB

fl ash memory. The latter can be optionally extended

STATE OF THE ART RFID

This powerful hand-held device combines outstanding RFID tag reading

distance performance with low output power consumption. With its newly

designed cross dipole RFID antenna, tags can be read from a distance of

more than 4 meters - even in the most demanding working conditions. In

addition, the reader is well suited to item level tagging of non-opened

boxes simultaneously with bar code reading, when needed. This func-

tionality is particularly useful in the processing of garments or pallet

logistics. More effi cient reading of tags extends the unit’s

effective operating time allowing for continuous work up

to 28 hours without needing to charge or change

the battery.

The Nordic ID RFID handheld PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF comes with two crossed dipole

aerials. Here the range of linear aerials is combined with the omnidirectionality of circular

aerials by avoiding the latter’s high energy consumption.

RUGGED ERGONOMIC DESIGN

The PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF has been designed with ease of use in mind.

At 800 grams, its smart ergonomic design combines with light weight to

ensure easy one hand operation. Applications are also easy to use even

in dark conditions thanks to individual key lighting. Its full screen display

and built-in option to disable its touch screen functionality also minimi-

zes potential errors by reducing access to device settings. Considering the

demands of the typical working environments for which it has been

designed, the device has also been laboratory tested for

drops, splash and dust. As a result of high-level

investments in its product development

GREAT SOFTARE MEANS GREATER PERFORMANCE

The addition of the latest version of the Windows© CE operating system and Nordic ID

software tools also brings major improvements to the handheld’s operability. With its up-

graded software, RFID applications can use all the memory available thus allowing it to run

bigger and more complex applications faster than ever.

The PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF comes with a powerful package of confi guration and prein-

stalled NetOp remote management software. Confi guration software helps the system

integrator to create the settings of individual devices in advance already before delivery to

the target working environment. Meanwhile the NetOp software provides full control over

the device enabling such functionality as interactive guidance for the end-user to remote

updating of OS software settings and everything between.

Application software is also already available for PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF ranging from

Naurtec terminal emulations to Ideam application programming tools. And, as with all

other Nordic ID devices, the PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF combines the latest standard

communication functionalities in the same unit. Technologies such as GPRS/EDGE, WLAN,

Bluetooth and a USB combine to connect this remarkable hand held device to the back

offi ce systems and ensure the seamless fl ow of information.

REAL TIME DATA TRANSFER

All the software runs on the host system, updates and system modifi cati-

ons are centrally provided in a time-saving way. The data are transferred

in real time the lightweight device (260 g) – thus enabling staff to access

up-to-date warehouse data, orders or detailed product information at any

time.

The mobile terminal is optionally equipped with a laser scanner, a long

range laser or a CCD scanner. Its large illuminated display ensures good

readability under all light conditions. The Nordic ID RF601 handheld is

e.g. used in trade and enables many activities to be relocated to the

sales room, so that staff is more frequently available to deal with customer

enquiries and the service is improved.

is easily installed. Using the terminal, a radio frequency site survey can

INEXPENSIVE ONLINE SERVICE WITH BLUETOOTH

The Nordic ID RF651 is part of a system for wireless data collec-

tion. In the simplest confi guration, a Bluetooth USB dongle

is used enabling the connection of up to seven Nordic

ID RF 651 wireless terminals to a PC or a point of sale

system - making the introduction of mobile data

collection very cost-effi cient. The data collected

are transmitted via Bluetooth. This is done in real

time and via encrypted transmission. The Nordic ID

RF651 uses Class 1 Bluetooth technology to connect to the

network with a range of up to 100 m.

BARCODE DATA COLLECTION

The mobile terminal optionally features a laser scanner or a CCD scanner.

The large, illuminated display can be easily read even in poorly lit areas.

FULLY UPGRADABLE SYSTEM

By integrating Nordic ID access servers, the basic Bluetooth network

can be upgraded to form a wireless network. Up to 21 data collection

devices are able to communicate with one access server. In this way, the data

collection system can be conveniently extended whenever required. At the

same time the individual terminals are not linked to a certain Access Server

but are able to receive and send data from all Access Servers while opera-

ting (roaming). All access servers are provided with an integrated TCP/IP

network connection and linked to the host system via LAN. The central

application can be run on a server or a PC. Staff using the Nordic ID RF651

can access e. g. current stock information, orders placed or all product

information at any time. Updates and system modifi cations are carried out

centrally in a timesaving manner.

QUICK IMPLEMENTATION

The system is very easy to install and ready for full use

within only a few minutes by simply connecting the wireless

terminals to the previously confi gured Access Servers or the

Bluetooth dongle. Both these alternatives also allow Bluetooth

printers or other Bluetooth appliances to be integrated into the system.

With the free ActiveX functional library software, applications are quickly

realized.

As the software runs on a central host system, there is no need for time-

consuming installations on terminals. The applications are instantly

ready for use. The Nordic ID RF601 is available in anthracite and sapphire

blue – however, optional colors refl ecting the corporate design of the user

company are also possible on request.

Nordic ID RF651The Nordic ID RF651 wireless terminal can be used

quickly and effi ciently to access business-relevant infor-

mation anytime and from anywhere. Owing to its light

weight (250 g), its ergonomic design and its low energy

consumption, the Nordic ID RF651 is very convenient

to work with even the whole day.
