Date Night: The Marriage Enrichment Team is sponsoring a 'DATE NIGHT' on Friday, December 13th from 6:00 -10:00 pm. Free babysitting will be provided at Martyrs while par-ents go out for dinner, go Christmas shopping, go to a movie or just enjoy time together. We are also looking for 6-8 volunteers in Grade 6 and above to help babysit that evening (please let the Simpsons know if you are able to help out.)

Venite Adoremus: A Mother’s Call to Holiness Advent Day of Recollection, Nov. 30, 8 am—3pm at St. Francis Assisi Church, Lincoln. $20. Martyrs School News November 27-29 Thanksgiving Break

Martyrs Parish Family extends our prayers and sympathy to the family Maria Kolodziejczyk, whose funeral Mass was No-vember 16th. May she know the peace and joy of eternal life.

Martyrs has a Grief Support group that meets monthly for prayer, friendship and support. We invite you to join us on Monday, November 25th at 6:00 pm in the Kater i Room. Call Pat at 402-477-5364 with questions.

All are invited to a special event on the First Sunday of Ad-vent, December 1st, from 3-4:00 pm in the Church. We will have a Holy Hour that includes the Rosary and Solemn Ves-pers. This will be followed by “Friendsgiving” in the Parish Hall from 4—5:30 pm. We will have the Turkey, Ham, table service and drinks. Please bring a side dish.

On Sunday, December, 8th at 5:00 pm we will have Solemn Vespers in the Church, with a few Advent Songs, followed by a High School gather ing in the Par ish Hall. Join us for Pizza and guest speaker, Max Chapman (and maybe a few Husk-ers). Max will speak about Faith in college and beyond.

North American Martyrs School is selling calendar lottery tickets again this year. $50 will get you 366 chances to win! Contact the School Office or a Martyrs student for the form. Thank you for supporting our school.

The Giving Tree sponsored by the Mar tyrs 5th grade Con-firmation class is in the Church Narthex. Gifts will be distrib-uted through Catholic Social Services to children in need, ages 1 to 12. If you wish to participate, take an ornament, pur-chase the gift item (use SCRIP!), and return the unwrapped gift with the ornament attached to the church by December 15th. Thank you!

Martyrs Moms invites all families to our Christmas Party on Sunday, December 8th from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm in the Par-ish Hall. This family friendly event will be packed full of fun! Visit with Santa, decorate cookies, make an ornament, eat a pancake breakfast (free) and so much more! See you there!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration will be held at Martyrs on Thursday, December 12th. All are invited to join us for the Rosary prayed in English, Spanish, Latin and Vietnamese at 6:15 pm. Mass will follow at 6:30 pm. Cele-brate with your fellow parishioners in the Par-ish Hall at a Mexican Fiesta beginning at 7:15

pm. Please bring a main dish and a side dish. There will be a piñata for children and beverages for adults.

Many thanks to the team of Chuck Keller, Joe Brandl, Brian Wiechman and Rob Refshauge who had the wisdom and skills to upgrade our parking lots lighting to LED. They are much brighter, longer lasting, will use less electricity and hope-fully enhance safety. Thanks to the PTO for pay-ing for the lights!! We are very grateful to you all and glad God gave you some nice weather to work

Join us for Cards for Seniors on Sunday, November 24, 4:30 - 6pm in the Kateri Room. Bring construction paper, stickers, markers, glue and other art supplies or only your willingness to create cards for senior citi-zens. Stay for a few minute or longer. Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is a nine week class to learn that money doesn’t have to be stressful, plan for your future, communicate in marriage, and dump debt.
