The 2016-2017 school year has started at North Cen- tral, and what a great start for the staff and students. We opened on September 6th in our new high school and it is going very well. The building is providing a state of the art edu- cational facility that will en- hance the learning environment for our students. We are very pleased with the final results of the building and we will be working out some minor bugs throughout the school year. The dedication of the new facility is on September 25th. Senator Cliff Hite will be here to help in the celebration. We are looking forward to hav- ing this facility provide a place to have a quality educational program for decades! I am proud that this project is com- plete and that our school district can provide this fine facility for our students. This is a great ad- dition to our community and it is happening because of the sup- port of the citizens of our school district. You all deserve a big “Thank you”. Our fall sports are off to a great start this year. Our golf team, volleyball team and cross country team are all having very successful seasons. I encourage everyone to get out and support all of our athletes and coaches. I look forward to this school year and know our staff will work timelessly to ensure that our students will receive a great educational experience this year. We have assembled a great staff with great experi- ence, while new young staff are bringing enthusiasm to our build- ings. 2016-2017 will be a great year for the North Central Ea- gles. -Ken Boyer, Superintendent From the Superintendent’s Desk Special points of interest: OCT. 2—JR. chosen North Central to continue their teaching careers! Some changes have happened since last year with the new high school and our pick-up and drop-off zones. Thanks to everyone who was supportive and patient the first day of school when we started and dismissed school. Our pick-up and drop-off zone is located outside the elementary building, and the students will exit the kin-dergarten doors (elementary southwest doors). If you come to the school, you are asked to wait outside these doors for stu-dents as they exit the building. Walkers (students who do not get picked up) will be exiting the north doors between the high school and junior high. They are using this exit so they can get to the intersection of Baubice and Wyandot Streets where we

The 2016-2017 school year has started successfully. The students and staff are hard at work to improve the edu-cational experience at North Central. We at

North Central Elementary encourage our community to come see the great things that we are doing at our school and en-courage you to become involved if you haven’t already. We have added four new staff members to our team this year; Patrick Doty is a co-teacher in sixth grade, Lori Masters is our new pre-school teacher, Joy Beck will be an intervention specialist, and Parker Maas has taken over our music department. We are happy they have

have a crossing guard posted. Students who ride the bus will exit the northeast doors of the elementary where the bus-ses now drop off and pick up. There is a possibility of an afterschool program this school year and unlike years past, will be by invita-tion only. The invitations would be for those students who are in need of aca-demic assistance only. Yours in Education, -Paul Jones, Elementary Principal

We will again be taking part in helping Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio (RMHC) by participat-ing in the aluminum pull tab program. By collecting pull tabs, we are providing food for the over 600 families that use the Ronald McDonald House as their home away from home while their child is get-ting medical care in Toledo. Your child’s attendance at school is very important in developing life-long learning habits that will benefit your child for years to come. From time to time chil-dren will be absent from school due to severe illness or other reasons listed in the student handbook.
