I be- lieve it was by the plan and will of God. Plans are a large part of our lives. We are so busy in fact that we cannot get through most days without devel- oping some sort of plan. Often something happens to that plan and it has to be modified or scrapped completely. That does not keep us from making plans, it just reminds us not to be completely dependent on our plans. My plan does not guarantee success, only God can do that. Remember when you plan your day, Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that” (James 4:15). You are not capable of extending your day by a second, much less by the time it takes to com- plete your plans, whatever they may be. So when consid- ering how you will use the Lord’s time, remember to take Him into account. Remember that God is in control and knows what’s best for you. Steven Haguewood

WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING?

VBS was a smashing success thanks to the wonderful people who helped plan and implement each step along the way. The skits were well done, puppets were a huge suc-cess, lessons were well delivered; the entire week was tre-mendous. Why else was the VBS such a success? Thank You: I would like to thank all those that had a part in making our VBS a success this year. There are so many that worked behind the scenes that helped make VBS fun and educational. Thank you to all those that helped with decorations, crafts, cookies, skits, activities, singing, puppets, the picnic, clean up, leading the children around, and teaching the lessons. It is such a blessing to have that many willing to be a part of this work. I hope everyone involved was uplifted and learned more about

Back To School? Please Pray For Our Children!

As school begins, we must monitor our kids each day. Brad Har-rub identified reasons we are losing our children along with solu-tions to ensure our kids will remain steadfast in their walk with Christ.

Reasons We Are Losing Our Kids: 1. Lack of Knowledge (Hosea 4:6, 1 Peter 3:15). 2. Lack of Combat Preparation (Eph. 6:13-17). 3. Lack of Protection of our Children’s Hearts, Minds (Matt. 22:37-38). 4. Lack of Proper Training in the Lord (Deut. 6:5-9). 5. Lack of Proper Teaching (Isaiah 59:2). 6. Lack of Proper Priorities (Matt. 6:24). 7. Lack of Interest (Romans 16:1-2).

How do we respond as parents? 1. Fill our kids with Bible knowledge! 2. Prepare our children for combat/challenges! 3. Protect their hearts & minds! 4. Train our kids up in the nurture & admonition of the Lord. 5. Teach our children the proper portrait of God! 6. Model proper priorities of life! 7. Be consistent with words & actions!

We must understand the challenges our children are facing. Our children need us to respond so they can remain resilient!
