The NHHS news broadcasts provides a forum for communities events ranging from performances at the PAC, to community wide events such as blood drives, Walk-For-Life, and the school’s recycling program.

We have just begun a small STLP group of 4 students. They are learning to use the various technologies in the school. The hope is they can assist

teachers in using the equipment. They are currently working on using the Promethean Boards and ActivInspire software. Teachers are starting to see

these students as useful resources and asking for their assistance in the classroom. We hope the group will grow larger in the next year.

We have a group of STLP students that have begun building computers for families unable to afford a computer. Most of the students have taken

computer classes in the past and have some prior knowledge. They help the younger students that has not had as much experience working with

computers. Students have learned the basic functioning components of a computer and will soon have the privilege of giving the computer to a

family.

The STLP students unboxed laptops and helped connect them to the new laptop cart that will rotate to the different math classes. The students enjoyed working together to figure out how laptops fit best into the cart and also figured out a checkout system for the teacher to keep track of which students used each laptop.
