I hope you and your families had a nice Christmas season. Winter weather is upon us over the next couple months. Please note that if the North Olmsted public schools are closed, the Senior Center will also be closed for activities and lunches. The Senior Center staff will however, be on duty to answer phones and assist with emergency situations. I’d like to wish all of you a happy and healthy New Year! I hope you and your families had a nice Christmas season. Winter weather is upon us over the next couple months. Please note that if the North Olmsted public schools are closed, the Senior Center will also be closed for activities and lunches. The Senior Center staff will however, be on duty to answer phones and assist with emergency situations. City Hall and the Senior Center will be closed in observance of New Years on Monday, January 1st.

MYSTERY TOUR PASSPORT LUNCHEON Friday, February 2nd Noon/Activity Room Registration Required

Welcome back Terri Krul, Activities Director at Huntington

Woods. Terri’s lecture will focus on various local cultures as well as providing small samples of local cuisine throughout the lecture. Be sure to register with a staff member to participate in this most current ‘Passport Lunch-eon’ series of food & travel around the world. Our first Passport Luncheon for 2018 is a ‘Mystery Country!’

LOOKING GREAT IN 2018 The North Olmsted Senior Center offers a variety of Fitness Classes Monday through Friday. The newest addition to the schedule is Zumba Dance Fitness: Wednesdays from 9:30am to 10:15am in the Community Cabin. Please visit the complete Fitness Schedule on page 4 of the newsletter. Zumba and Yoga classes accept Silver Sneakers.

SOUP & SALAD FUNDRAISER Wednesday, January 31st/12:00pm Please welcome Chef Michelle Hill from Avon Place! Avon Place will be sponsoring our first Soup & Salad fundraiser of 2018. This month’s menu will consist of cheeseburger soup, a southwest style salad, roll, and dessert. Please call 440-777-8100 or stop in the NOSC to make your reservation on or before Wednesday, January 24th. Monetary donations will be accept-ed. Proceeds collected will support the NOSC activities and program-ming. Enjoy a delicious warm meal in a friendly atmosphere. All are welcome!

Reminder: If the N.O. City Schools are closed due to bad weather this winter, then the NOSC will also be closed for all activities. Staff will report to the center to receive all phone calls or assist with emergencies. Please check your local news/radio sta-tions for school closings due to severe weather conditions.

Important 2018 AARP Tax Assistance Information : Due to a shortage in AARP tax assistance volunteers, the North Olmsted Senior Center will not be offering tax assistance in 2018. When we receive a list of current AARP tax assistance

winter months. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

All persons 60 and older are welcome to join us for lunch. A reg-istration form must be completed and can be obtained at the front desk. Once this has been completed and is on file, you may sign up for any lunches that you choose. Please contact the center for more details. This program was made possible by a Grant from the Ohio Department of Aging through the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging. Please acquire your lunch ticket at the sign in desk and be in your seats no later than 11:25am.

Sign-up is always one week in advance as the reservations are called in to the caterer on Thursdays by 10:00a.m.

2018 Trip Schedule Attention: Payment in full must be received in order to sign up for all trips offered.

The Westside Market trips will resume on Wednesday, March 28th. The lunch will be at Beachcliff Tavern.
