For more than eight years, King Living has collaborated with multi-award-
winning Australian Industrial Designer, Charles Wilson. This Spring, the new ‘Zaza’ sofa designed in collaboration with the King Living in-house design team was launched into King Living Showrooms.
Charles Wilson has designed innovative and contemporary furniture for King Living including the Andrea and William sofa’s and Seymour Armchair range. This collection continues the King Living tradition for supremely comfortable and functional furniture that are responsive to differing situations and needs; true to all King Living designs in its attention to detail.
True to form, the Zaza is built around King Living’s engineered steel frame, forming the foundation of the sofa with detachable backs and arms and interchangeable legs. The steel frame is the functional core of the sofa, allowing all other elements to be easily assembled or reconfigured.
“I wanted to create an organic design with a more relaxed feel, but with similar comfort and versatility, true to the King Living design ethos. The leaf-like forms on the arms and backrest are accentuated by
distinctive edge stitching which makes the sofa unique,” says Wilson.
“Zaza is designed to offer luxurious comfort in a sleek contemporary design that would suit both residential and commercial environments.”
One of the key features of Zaza is its modularity. The arms and backs are easily detachable and a standard two or three seater frame can be joined together in various configurations. The integrated hinges in the flexible arms and backs allow for various comfort settings and folding the arm down enables a two-seater sofa to be turned into a bed.
Zaza was unveiled at Denfair, Australia’s leading destination for contemporary design and art in Melbourne. It is available in showrooms across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.
