In the last two years, Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) has supported significant new investment by companies such as BMW, Advanced Supply Chain and Pets at Home and works with the logistics industry to find local solutions to key issues such as increased energy efficiency, HR and recruitment.

Yusen Logistics, Norbert Dentressangle, Knights of Old, C Butt, Gem Logistics, Wincanton and Eddie Stobart are just a few of the many logistics companies that have substantial facilities in Northamptonshire. An enviable regional infrastructure has dedicated terminals for both rail – Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal – and air freight including Heathrow, London, Luton, Birmingham and Nottingham East Midlands Airport - the UK’s largest pure air freight terminal. With easy access to the M1 and A14, the county is ideally situated for logistics and supply operations. How Can We Help?NEP’s Business Support Services

Recruitment and SkillsNEP’s Jobs Brokerage team is an innovative single point of contact for Northamptonshire’s employers and young people into work. The team guides and helps businesses (large and small) through the process of recruiting staff and apprentices. It has supported 350 young people into work in the last year.

Following a pilot with Knights of Old, NEP and Job Centre Plus designed an LGV training scheme which resulted in eight candidates being fully funded to take their licence. The scheme is being rolled out across Northamptonshire for logistics companies based in the county.

Financial Support NEP’s Growing Places programme provides capital loans to projects requiring infrastructure to unlock development. With a total pot of £5.8m, loans from the scheme will help provide long-term solutions to support new homes and jobs, and to stimulate economic growth across Northamptonshire.

Location and Planning NEP provides a single point of contact for all logistics, new investment and expansion enquiries. We will work with you to find the best solution for your business in Northamptonshire.
