F.Y.I.: Mediacom info Mediacom and other video providers such as DirecTV and Dish are for-profit compa-nies. Their programming decisions are based on how much money they can earn from viewer subscriptions and channels they carry. These companies negotiate with local television channels and other

programming providers about whether to offer such channels. In almost all instances when the cable or satellite provider (Mediacom, DirecTV, Dish) is not carry-ing a channel for a while it's because of negotiations regarding how much mon-ey the cable provider is demanding of the local channels to carry it. As mil-lions of Americans cut cable, these compa-nies are under increased financial pres-sure. Below is a link to the FCC that ex-plains much of this in greater detail.https://bit.ly/2XgiO1S. Northcrest has no control over what Mediacom decides.

We are scheduled to have our fire alarm system inspected next Tue, Jan 19. This will include the Main Building, Parkway Building, Assisted Living and the Health Center. The inspector will need to test all smoke detectors that are tied into our fire alarm system. In the Main Building this is just in the hallways, atriums and other common areas. In Parkway and Assisted Living, this will also include each unit's liv-ing room and bedrooms. This being the first time we've had all of these buildings tested at the same time, we're not sure it will be completed in one day. A mainte-nance team member will go along to as-sist during the inspection. Typically at the end of inspecting a building, they will sound the alarms to confirm they are working. Sorry for any inconvenience, but so important.

Piano Music LaVone Newell will continue to play on Fridays, at 3:00 pm, GR. Please keep the audience to 20 in GR. Lorraine Stumbo will play piano in the Parkway Music Room on Fri, Jan 22, at 4:00 pm. Please keep your distance and the audience to 12 or fewer.
