Northern Sierra Swimming Facility Use Procedures: Version: May 27, 2020. Risk Assessment: 1. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. 2. The facilities we use, Memorial Park Pool, Bear River High School pool and Nevada Union High School pool, are outdoor facilities, which reduces but does not eliminate the potential for spread of the virus. 3. The pool water at each facility has a maintained chlorine level of at least 1.0 PPM. Per the CDC, proper operation, maintenance and disinfectant will kill the virus that causes COVID-19. Transmission of the virus in the water is highly unlikely. 4. Swim training / lap swimming is an individual activity with no physical contact and distance can be kept between participants. No sharing of equipment is necessary. 5. Risk of virus spread by participants can be reduced by enforcing strict distance guidelines and regular sanitizing of all high touch surfaces. Additionally, eliminating the use of locker rooms for anything beyond the need to use the toilets and hand washing will further reduce the already limited potential points of spread. 6. Open swim or “free swim” would potentially pose a risk if participants do not adhere to 6’ of social distancing. Facility Expectations: We rent pool space from the City of Grass Valley and the Nevada Joint Union High School District. These entities have full-time, trained maintenance staff who monitor the pools daily and adjust the chemistry as needed. Both entities have a demonstrated history of maintaining proper chlorination / disinfectant levels in the pool facilities. Pool chemicals will be maintained with at least 1.0 PPM Chlorine and a PH between 7.2-8. Coach Training & Requirements: 1. There will be a coach training prior to programs re-starting. This will be done via Zoom. The training will include a full review of all current policies and procedures. All questions will be addressed. Coaches will attest that they understand the protocols put in place to help limit the potential spread of the virus. Attestation is done by signing the “Employee Health Policy Training and Agreement – COVID-19.” (attachment 7)

Northern Sierra Swimming Facility Use Procedures:

Version: May 27, 2020.

Risk Assessment:

Facility Expectations:

We rent pool space from the City of Grass Valley and the Nevada Joint Union High School District.

Coach Training & Requirements:

1. There will be a coach training prior to programs re-starting. This will be done via Zoom. The training will include a full review of all current policies and procedures. What happens if a participant or coach tests positive for COVID-19?

It is possible and maybe even likely that someone that uses the facility will at some point be infected with COVID-19. Coach Daryn Glasgow should be notified as soon as it is known that someone has tested positive. The facility will be automatically shut down for at least 24 hours and be deep cleaned.
