Movie Night
We will gather in the Great Hall to enjoy the movie Inside Out and fellowship with one another to end this year of Adult Studies!
By the time these words are read, the sacred season of Lent will be one week spent; the church’s annual, global, purple path to depth, winding its way ever nearer Holy Week, on the journey to, eventually, ultimately, another celebration of the resur-rection. But first, there is the cross to face; the Lenten journey to Jerusalem drawing us ever deeper into the gathering shadows of the crucifixion; the Lenten path to depth always, also, the path to death. The forty days of Lent; a season for seeking to live prayerfully, simply and quietly. The Lenten journey; a time to, in the words of Mary Oliver, “walk slowly and bow often.” -Chuck Poole

REQUIEM
For The Living
by Dan Forrest
Palm Sunday ~ April 5 ~ 5:30 p.m. ~ Sanctuary
Dan Forrest completed Requiem for the Living on January 7, 2013, and in the intervening seven years the work has become one of the most performed major works in the sacred repertoire. First time listeners speak of the work’s immediate appeal and its power to help us ponder anew, through music, the awe and mystery of death. That the title unashamedly points toward the living is entirely appropriate as we enter Holy Week and begin that journey of understanding what Christ’s death means for us as Christians who are now living into the faith.
