BBA to present
“A Night of Dance,
Drama and Cinema”
See DRAMA, pg. 2
reographed by his wife, Claudia
Shell-Raposa, who was also a
cast member of the famed musi-
cal.
The evening marks the debut
of the students’ Fall Film Project
– “A Day in the Life.” About 40
students worked on the film,
which was written, directed and
edited entirely by the students.
Each performance piece is
the culmination of a semester’s
work. “No where else do you get
to see a kid’s final exam,” said
Raposa. It’s a big night in many
ways for the students. “Some of
these kids have never been on
stage before,” he commented.
The school’s cinematography
class will recreate a classic tele-
vision moment, as they present
the Lucille Ball “Vita-meata-
vegamin” sketch. “They’ve rec-
reated it shot by shot,” said
Raposa. Cinematography
instructor Bill Muench worked
together with Raposa and the
students on the project. “We
team-teach quite a bit,” Raposa
noted. “It’s a very collaborative
and creative process.”
For the second year, the Winter
Showcase is dedicated to BBA
alumnus Erin Hehir, who died in
a car accident last year in her
early twenties. At the time of her
accident, Erin had been named
coach of the school’s Dance Team.
To honor her memory, a portion
of the ticket proceeds from the
show will be donated to a scholar-
ship that will be awarded to a
graduating BBA student who
plans to pursue dance training in
college.
Tickets for the Winter Showcase
are $2 for students and $5 for
adults. They may be purchased
online at burrburton.tix.com.
