CFO is in the midst of its 28th year! Who could have imagined 28 years ago that we would be reaching people for Jesus all over the globe! God has surely blessed this ministry. And we are keeping our focus on and remain obedient to what the Lord has called us to do. The Lord has increased our boundaries immensely. We are now in 82 coun-tries and 37 states. And the tract is now translated into 18 different languages. We will remain steadfast to the calling and together we will carry out the Great Commission - reaching the lost for Christ. As you read this year’s magazine you will see it is full of examples of God’s work through CFO’s ministry – testimonies, lists of results, pictures of real peo-ple who met Jesus for the first time through the bead ministry. People from every country and state come to CFO asking for help in reach-ing out for Jesus. We feel privileged that we can help them uplift and honor Jesus. They come into the booths and hear the message from the volunteers and come to understand the incredible price Jesus paid for us on that cross. Over and over again we hear how easy sharing the Gospel is when using the colors and the beads. Easy and effective are two words we hear constantly. The message of the Gospel crosses all language and culture divides because colors are international. God sends CFO out into the traffic lanes of life, just like Jesus sent his dis-ciples out in Luke 10. We share with 100s of 1000s but we focus on one soul at a time. CFO is a one on one ministry. As you read through the booth testimonies on pages 19-21, remember that hundreds bring their friends in to get saved. Many people come in searching for someone to help them. Others come to us really hurting and want us to talk and pray with them. And, one of the greatest blessings, hundreds who have gotten saved in prior years’ booths return to thank us for being there for them and un-ashamedly introducing them to Jesus. We must be there for each of them. All of these people had divine appointments. CFO does not bring in the people. The Lord, through the urging of the Holy Spirit, directs the lost and hurt-ing into the booths. As volunteers, we pray that the Lord speaks through us and that the Holy Spirit brings in those to whom we need to minister. It is unspeakable joy for us being there for them. John 4:36 “He that reapeth, receiveth wages and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.” If there was ever a time when we should man the lifeboats and go out and rescue as many as we can, it is now. That is why we proclaim the gospel! John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day. The night cometh, when no man can work.” Prayer and support are essential. Without God’s blessing and your support through prayers and gifts, there is little CFO could do. The grace of God has allowed us to reach so many people. He truly is showing us “great and mighty things!” We stand ready for what the Lord has planned in the year ahead. Join us!

every effort mattersVirginia and West Virginia

Paul Steele and Mike Barko

Fourteen years ago Mike Barko walked right into God’s plan for his life at the Virginia Farm Show where CFO was sharing the Gospel message with col-ors. Mike was so excited to discover how easy it is to share the plan of sal-vation; at last he would be able to live out his calling —reaching out to the lost for Christ. It didn’t take long for God to build from there, bringing to-gether a team—Mike, Paul, Pam, Allen, Chris, Kurt, and Liza. Together they have established and founded the CFO ministry in the states of Virginia and West Virginia. Last year Mike traveled to Af-rica sharing the CFO supplies training with more than 2,000 pastors from 700

churches, returning with inspiring testi-monies of transformed lives. This year at 32 local events in VA and WV, the min-istry team led more than 3,000 souls to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord! What makes this even more unique? Many of these decisions were made on the James Madison University College campus. Sharing Christ on campus is becoming more restricted in many col-leges. Mike explained how God granted him access to make this possible: “Four years ago the Lord gave me fa-vor with the coordinator of the JMU foot-ball team. I asked if our ministry team could share the colors on their campus. We are now scheduled to visit the campus every Thursday, 1pm-6pm. Each year we

have been richly blessed with the results. There were 500 souls who received Jesus just this past year. It is unspeakable joy and we give God all the glory!” One of many testimonies Mike shares is about a young man named Car-los. ”…(he) was reached on campus with the colors and accepted Jesus as savior and Lord. Five weeks later his mother contacted us with tragic news that he had passed away. Though she was in mourning, she was comforted knowing that Carlos is with Jesus.”

“we simply obey him and the results in others naturally happens.”

Paul goes the extra mile with all the demands of yearly Events and Shows also including taking the colors with a mes-sage of hope to food pantries for two to four hours daily. He has access to many who are struggling in life. In just one month of food pantry visits, 50 people accepted Jesus and many lives are back on the path of restoration. Paul expresses his continuous compassion saying, “In each Farm Show, event, and everywhere we reach out to others, God’s grace and mercy shows up. God’s Spirit, power and presence is with us all day long. We sim-ply obey Him and the results in others naturally happens. Words escape any real description of what transpires. Praise His Name, All Glory to the Father!” Pam, who is a teacher and is accus-tomed to teaching through object/visual lessons, naturally fell in love with sharing Jesus through the colored bead bracelets. She had been a born again Christian with a strong burden for the lost for many years, but was once timid and afraid to share the message of Christ with others. She is now bold through the use of the colors. As she is obedient to God’s calling and steps out with great efforts, the results of the lost turning to Christ have been continually rewarding. She says, ”Chris-tian Farmers Outreach materials changed

my life! I have shared Christ one-on-one with many at local fairs, Walmarts, and church events now for eight years! I will forever be motivated by these witnessing tools to reach the lost for Christ.”

another blessing added

Mike and his team were confronted by overwhelming amount of people who confessed they were struggling with 100% assurance about their salvation. Many were under the impression that salvation was based off of their own works instead of placing simple faith in Christ alone. Through the use of the colors, a blessing to everyone, Mike and Paul were able to make clear to them saying, “The Gospel is not behavior reformation, it’s a heart transformation. When we accept what Jesus did on the cross for us, the price is paid in full. His blood cleanses us, we are forgiven and set free! It’s up to each per-son to receive it by Faith, and He enters in and does a new thing.” Those who did re-ceive Jesus’ free gift walked away rejoicing saying, “I now have a connection. Thank you Jesus for saving me!” A few years ago, Mike and Paul ar-rived at a crossroad and faced making a very important decision. God was calling them to step out in faith into the deep. The demands of their calling were increasing as they were trying to balance their full time occupation and ministry work. With careful prayer and seeking God’s direction Mike traded in his job at the Post Office and Paul traded in his teaching career so both could commit to full time evangelism. It is evident with each passing year God is truly leading them to do great things in His eternal kingdom.

the gospel is not behavior reformation, it’s a heart transformation. when we accept what jesus did on the cross for us, the price is paid in full.

Our theme this summer at camp was “Get Your Glow On”. It was all about Jesus’ light, so the flashlights CFO provided with the beads attached on the string were AWESOME! We used them as prizes for kids who memorized lots of scripture. We trained 30 college-aged staffers and shared with over 800 kids and adults. The reports show 76 deci-sions for Christ, but hundreds of the kids now know the gos-pel that are now sharing in their homes. We just did our end of summer wrap up where campers came back to camp to celebrate together. When they were asked what they had learned and what are they do-ing with what they learned, most of them commented on the CFO color bead bracelets and they are actively sharing it to others the way it was shared to them. Some had shared with their family and some shared with their friends. We gave ex-tra bracelets and let them make some of their own because they were so excited to share with more back at home!

Thousands of lives have been transformed and lost souls have received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord through divine con-nections from Pennsylvania to Florida.

a christ connectionGod makes the best connections. He used CFO, Don and Kaye Ben-ner, and Daniel Trivett to form divine connections in Eustis and Umatilla, Florida. God can now reach the lost through the work of six additional churches and two new outreaches all connected through CFO. Twelve years ago in Hesston, Penn-sylvania, one simple prayer to God was answered when Don and Kaye asked to be used by Him to reach the lost. At the Eastern Sports Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, God connected them to CFO when they walked into a booth and saw the message of the colors being shared. Since they travel to Florida dur-ing the winter months, they knew exactly where to take the message of the colors. Together they released God’s clear call-ing on others beginning with the First Baptist Church Crisis Center of Umatil-la, Florida. The colors didn’t stop there. Don and Kaye pressed on and intro-duced the colors in five more churches (First Church of God, Nazarene Church & Christian Schools, Victory Baptist Church, Liberty Lighthouse, and Adven-ture Christian Church), through several new outreaches, and at many events. It’s nearly impossible to take account of the many that have gotten saved through these connections. There are so many miracle testimonies of lives literally being restored.

a friend connectionDon and Kaye are very close friends to Daniel Trivett, an active member of the Gideons in Florida. When they intro-duced the colors to him he saw the color beads as an incredibly effective way to share the Gospel. He now takes the colors with him to share along with the Gideon Bibles he passes out at all of the events he attends. Using the color beads, in just one week at a recent event, he reported back that there were 134 decisions made to re-ceive Jesus Christ!

the father’s connectionDon and Kaye also introduced the colors to the Dads for Boys Ranch in Umatilla, Florida. The ranch is a ministry for fa-therless boys from many different back-grounds. They are given a chance to be uplifted and mentored by godly men. The ranch provides these boys a summer of fun in nature and nurture. Offered an open door to the Heavenly Father’s (God’s) heart, many find a calling for their lives, and a Father who loves them unconditionally. The color beads and wristbands were a huge hit! Not only did many of these boys receive Jesus in their hearts, they quickly learned how to evan-gelize to their peers, friends and family.

Many of these boys returned the follow-ing summer telling how they shared the message of the colors and watched as many got saved and are now sharing us-ing the colors too.

heaven’s connectionConnections do not stop there. Don and Kaye now have been given another calling and vision from Jesus. They are moving forward with taking the CFO color beads to 29 more area churches in Eustis and Umatilla, Florida! Surely all of heaven, even God himself, is continuously rejoic-ing with all these lost souls who have been found! God is not slack in His concern. He watches over His work and those who perform it! Glory to God!

Two years ago in CFO's 2013 magazine, the cover story of the year was a huge breakthrough sending 100,000 wristbands and CFO Russian tracts overseas to Pastor Pavel in Siberia. CFO's evangelism ministry provided a connection for those churches who were standing ready to share the Gospel with those who were starving to be told of God's love for them. Misha's testimony, one of thousands in Russia, is about Jesus going to great lengths through his family, the church, to share one simple message with an orphaned heart, "I love you, son."  God personally had Misha on His heart all this time. That is who He is all about; you and me, His eter-nal family He so dearly loves. When you love someone, what wouldn't you do for them? As God's eyes were on Misha's life, God's heart ached

knowing that his heart waxed cold from an early childhood in a broken home. He was craving what every child wants—someone to love them unconditionally. But due to the lack of nurture in his life he became a trouble maker. Soon, when he needed love the most, everyone turned their backs on him.   Sadly his parents placed Misha and his twin brother in an orphanage. Satan gains ground in so

many people's lives through broken con-ditions—gang life, false religions, drugs, alcohol, sexual addictions—used to fill the void deep within, but that results in destruction or death.  In Misha's situation he lived that "on the edge” lifestyle that al-most took his life. One winter night, Misha and his friend experienced a rude awakening in their lives as they were driving home from attending service at an Orthodox Church.  Their automobile hit a patch of ice causing a tragic accident.   They nar-rowly slipped out of the grasp of death be-cause they were protected by the Father's loving hand. Later death came knocking at his door again. While on the job as a roof repairman, he was three stories high on a roof top near a live power line. Un-wittingly he got an electric shock from the power line and was blown off the roof.  The impact of his fall to the ground crushed his liver to the point where the doctors at the hospital said it was nothing short of a miracle he even survived.  Time passed and Misha made a full recovery. He changed his occupation and obtained

employment as a salesman selling jewelry and wristbands at a mar-ket in St. Petersburg, Russia.  At last God seized the perfect mo-ment to reach out to Misha at that market through Pastor Alex Brat-cev. Total strangers, Misha saw Pastor Bratcev, a local pastor and CFO partner, as a potential cus-tomer. But Pastor Bratcev's heart saw Misha as a potential brother in Christ.   Misha spoke up and said "Sir, I can sell you this wrist-band for a really good price.” Pas-tor Bratcev looked up at him and said with a smile, "I have wrist-bands you can have for free, but only if you listen to the five min-ute message first!"  That snagged

Misha’s attention and he listened to the Pastor share the message of God's love for him through the colors. For the first time he heard the truth of a real person (Jesus) who deeply loved him more than his own life. Right there and then Misha gave his heart to Jesus, got saved, and discovered his eternal Father's love for him!   He wanted others to know Jesus, so he started to share the Gospel through the col-ors. As his new born faith grew he enrolled in Bible college in Tyumen, Russia. Wilson met Misha at the Eurocon Conference in Budapest, Hungary. He told how he came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior through the colors. When asked if he was going to be a pas-tor. He said, “I will go wherever the Lord sends me.”

guatemala to russiarussia

In July 2013, Robyn Caruthers and her ministry team completed their eighth International mission trip. Previously they’d taken CFO materials on three trips to Guatemala and five to Russia. On each they witnessed to the lost sharing the salvation message through the color beads. Fall 2013 found them return-ing to Russia and seeing more amazing life transformations.

a special camp in kursk, russiaTheir first visit in Russia was to a youth camp for deaf people. Robyn explained they were never trained in sign language and didn’t know how to witness to those who are deaf. Yet, nothing is impossible with God. He had already equipped them well with creativity through their drama team using skits, puppets, and clever tricks that reveal bible verses pertain-ing to the Gospel. They ended with the message of the color bead bracelets and tracts. Not only did the deaf clearly hear with their heart – fully understanding the message—they openly received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They even learned quickly how to share the message and

took more colored beads and tracts to share with their friends and family. God’s love is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

to the streets in belgorodTaking the color beads and tracts to Ske-bekino in the streets of Belgorod, Russia, everyone God placed in Robyn’s ministry team’s path was reached with the Gos-pel. Each one heard the full message. The ministry team pointed out the prayer on the back of the tract. Some received Je-sus that day while others walked away with the message attached to their wrist in hopes they would later respond to Him when their hearts were ready. Once again those who did respond to what Jesus did on the cross for them, asked for more tracts and bracelets to take with them to share to their loved ones!

at a home in alexeyevka Dropped off at a woman’s home in Alex-eyevka, Russia, Robyn and her team performed their skits, puppets and all, sharing the Gospel using the beads and tracts. All of the invited guests were also deaf. Again, the bracelets and tracts were extremely helpful because it provided a visual for the deaf to see and a way to understand the message of salvation. There was a mother, Anya, there with her two sons. For two years she was witnessed to by others but that day Robyn and her team walked Anya through the plan of salvation through the color beads and she gave her heart to Jesus. Then right there, Anya then led her two sons to Jesus through the colors and they accepted Jesus in their hearts!

gospel shared in a public school in russiaIn October of 2013, this time in Volgo-grad, Russia, Robyn and her ministry team were invited into a public school to witness to the youth athletes. They all heard the message of salvation and were able to take a free gift with them – the color bead bracelets and tracts. That re-ally meant a lot to those teens. Then bundled up in winter attire—winters are harsh in much of Russia—Robyn and her team hit the streets again. This time they were near the civic center. The message of Salvation was openly re-ceived by many through the colors, some hearing the Gospel for the very first time. Many got saved that day.

In closing Robyn emailed us saying: “Dear CFO, there are many more stories. The point is, the Gospel bracelets are a key part of sharing the Gospel and spreading the message to those we share it with. They are crucial to our sharing the Gospel and people are very receptive. Thanks again for all you do in making this possible to share the Gospel in all the world!”

four mile church in beaver, pennsylvania, and haiti h2o of pittsburgh partnered to do a medical missions trip may 17-24, 2014, to st. martain, haiti, a remote community in great need of medical care. The closest clinic is 30 minutes up the road by car – a few hours by foot – and the closest hospital, at least a two hour drive. We held our clinic at the local church and saw 609 Haitian patients from newborn babies to the elderly! They would line up as early as 6am just so they could be seen and receive treatment. Our 15 member mission team worked this clinic from 8:00am to approximately 5:00pm each day.  Needless to say we were all quite fatigued, but extremely blessed by God, to be a part of this medical mission. The absolute best part of this mission was not the medical care, but the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Once the patient got their medication, they went to the last station where a team member and our Pas-tor, George Atkins, would present the Gospel using the Christian Farmers Outreach bracelet and a Creole handout. We’d pray over them for healing and good health. The generosity of your providing 600 bracelets enabled us to give each patient a tangible remembrance – of not just the medical care – but the One who provided for them – Jesus!  We can't thank you enough for helping us make this mission successful.

Jerry Hamlin, from Dimmitt, Texas, has for many years now evangelized and trained others using the CFO color beads and tracts, here in the U.S. and by partnering with missionaries over-seas in Bujumbura in Burundi, Africa. There is a revival happening in Bujum-bura through the labor of devoted men and woman of God who have a pasto-ral training program called The Leader-ship Development Institute (LDI). Jerry introduced the CFO color beads and gospel tracts to this ministry and now they are included in the LDI training program. First in the process, pastors and ministers (men and women) attend the first part of the LDI sessions. They are taught and trained how to effectively witness and learn other important teach-ings as well. Once they complete their entire training, they are placed into the field to apply what they’ve learned. These newly trained pastors and ministers take the CFO colored bead bracelets and gos-pel tracts to the streets. Jerry emailed back to CFO with mind blowing results that read:

“The final numbers are in and what a story to tell. I was once told to find out where God is working and go join the people there. That was certainly true in Bujumbura, Burundi and the surrounding area. Over the past six weeks, 600 Pastors and their wives were trained and then there were 48 open-air meetings held in villages, marketplaces, and other rural areas. There were 31,657 who prayed to receive Christ as Savior, plus many other decisions.

Burundi (africa)

Fifty national missionaries were commissioned to continue the work in Burundi and they were provided bicycles, portable sound systems, and materials to do the work of the Lord. Hundreds of both the bead and rubber bracelets were given out, along with the CFO tracts. CFO is a vital part of this ministry.” A small team stayed in Africa and went to Mbarara, Uganda to train Pas-

tors and do open-air meetings. Over 10 days, 1,000 Pastors and church leaders were trained there and the evening meet-ings resulted in 2,110 salvation decisions.

This report got even better! Each one of these 31,657 souls who accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord were also provided in-formation about their local Church where they could grow in their Christian faith. Their local Churches works with the LDI program who offer follow ups to these new born believers giving them a free New Testament Bible and much prayer and support. The well-trained pastors in the LDI program meet with each person individually to review what it means to

be a Christian and confirm their deci-sion. Then many of these new, born again believers immediately become active in their faith going out witnessing, taking with them the color beads and tracts. The leaders of the LDI project share the same heart of Christ as we do in CFO. Here is what one of the leaders stated, “Many of these men and women who felt His call, were seeking to serve Jesus, but knew of no other way than by works. What an amazing opportunity it is to tell these people about Christ’s salvation through Grace!” We were even informed that this LDI project is the very first in that nation to do any of this and the exciting news is we as members of the CFO ministry are a part of it! God is so good and it is a joy to be in His eternal family! Together we will continue to pray for the health and safety of the LDI team. But most of all, we pray God’s will continues to be done in and through us all.

Belize

"Miraculous healings, casting out of de-mons, nightly discipleship groups grow-ing every night, the scales coming off eyes to see the LOVE and FREEDOM of CHRIST is by FAITH," (quote from Pat-rick and Roni) and so much more is hap-pening in Belize through the colors used by our dearly beloved married couple, Patrick and Roni. As you read on, you will witness God's powerful love in Pat-rick and Roni sharing the gospel resulting in 300 decisions receiving Christ through the colors in Belize! Patrick and Roni McCarthy, along with their ministry team, traveled to Belize to share the Gospel through the CFO color beads with three churches. While working with the Prince of Peace Church in Coro-zul, Belize, they went door to door shar-ing the Gospel message using the colored beads. Those who responded and received Jesus were encouraged to share the same message with their loved ones and com-munity. The Church and ministry team followed up the next day to begin their dis-cipleship training with those who had just

the day before received Jesus. Among the newborns in Christ were Jehovah’s Wit-nesses who were open to the Gospel and were grateful to better understand what the message of salvation truly is. They gave their heart to Jesus Christ and got saved. Along with many crossing to Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit was moving through many as Roni and Patrick were eyewitnesses to miraculous healings, cast-ing out of demons, confusions turned into the new birth in Christ, nightly disciple-ship groups increasing in numbers daily, scales of deception and ignorance coming off the eyes to see the love and freedom of Christ, healing of relationships, tears of joy and praise, faces becoming radiant in His love, and marriages being restored. Roni and Patrick stated, “This is done by Faith, not works.” Ishmael, a translator described as an enormous blessing by Roni and Patrick, through his eager heart, learned how to share the color bead bracelets with their ministry team. At the end of the mis-sions trip he was excited to return home

and share with his family and his church youth group (which he leads) the good news of the Gospel. He trained them how to be more effective with the message of salvation to others in their town through the color beads. He was deeply thankful for the color bead bracelets he could take back to his Church. In closing Patrick and Roni emailed us, “Dear CFO, again thank you so much for partnering with us! We would never have seen the fruit if it had not been for your prayers, There were at least 300 decisions made to pray to receive Christ and many more were discipled. Lives and neighbor-hoods were changed! The bracelets were given to all those who received Christ as well as all the believers we worked with so they could use them to go and share the good news with even more folks. The churches we worked with were so grateful to have the bracelets we left with them to be able to use to carry on evangelizing in their area. All glory to God! May the Lord return blessings many-fold back to you and your ministry!”

brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Luke 4:18

Imagine yourself in a place where everything you love and hold dear is stripped away from you. Your pastors are murdered; your family tries to place you in prison; you are kicked out of college then fired from your job. Just when things couldn't get worse the government comes to take away your child. You know the kind of abuse your child will suffer and that you will never see your child again. Sounds like a nightmare one would be relieved to wake up from but this isn't a nightmare for a woman born in Iran and named Afrooz Emami. This is her life's story.

She endured the fire of persecution from the moment she asked Jesus into her heart and received salvation for her soul. Tragically this is all too common for many Christians in the Middle East born into Islam. Afrooz knows firsthand how Is-lam maliciously attacks Christians. But Afrooz, now a child of the King, has an even deeper love for her people because of the Love of Christ. God has powerfully used her because of the love of Jesus within her for the lost. Her very love for lost souls, especially those trapped in Islam, has empowered CFO to reach out further than ever imagined possible, sharing the message of God’s love and redemption within the world of Is-lam and with the Muslim people.

a face to face encounterIn the last days God said He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh as it is written in the book of Joel in the OT and the book of Acts in the NT. This is how Afrooz in Iran one night liter-ally had a face to face encounter with the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ. Afrooz was raised in a strict Muslim home. She understood praying to Allah was important and was obedient to the Qur’an but she couldn't deny something was missing in her life. She wanted some form of relationship with Allah and wanted to see everything she was taught to believe through Mohammad's teachings. So, one night she got down on her prayer mat and for hours requested of Allah to the point of exhaustion. She was as bold as a lion, provokingly demanding, "If you are going to help me, tonight you should show yourself to me! If you do not show me yourself tonight, then I will turn to this material life and will be a sinner!" She vowed to stay up all night waiting for a sign believing that Allah would prove he was there with her. She was talking to the god of Moham-mad in the anticipation Allah would show himself to her. An hour had passed as she grumbled, complaining the entire time; suddenly her room lit up bright as the noonday but it was mid-night as this took place in her home. In fear she ran out of the room for a moment but quickly returned and there she saw Jesus face to face dressed in a white robe. She had never seen a picture of the Messiah but knew exactly who she was looking at in her room, "It could only be the Messiah," she thought to her-self. She quickly grabbed a pen and paper since she has a gift to express words in poetry not realizing the words she wrote were Holy Spirit inspired ... never having read a Bible in her entire life, in Farsi she wrote, "Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." You see, to be a Muslim you must believe in a Jesus but it is not the one true Messiah, most western Christians are not aware of this fact of Middle Eastern Culture. Here Afrooz was searching for Mohammad's god and Jesus the Messiah takes Allah's place, so in frustration she gives up and goes to sleep.

A day passes by and at night fall Afrooz was blessed with the Messiah appearing in her dream saying to her, "Didn't I tell you to come under My shadow and come with me and be safe?" She wrestled within herself asking, “Is this the real God? Shouldn't I be seeing Allah or Mohammad?" The next day at work, another co-worker there noticed Afrooz wasn't herself and he asked her if he could help her. She tried to brush it off saying she was upset because she was unable to see her mom who lived in the U.S. The co-worker spoke words of comfort to her saying, "God is always with you. God is love. Bring your complaints to Him." It's considered taboo to openly confess being Christian publicly in Iran, but this particular co-worker had established trust with Afrooz. After three weeks of work-ing on the job with him and he was sharing his Faith about God's love with her ever since. This aggravated Afrooz pro-voking her to question, "What kind of God would allow me to feel this way and to feel all this pressure?" She quickly pulled out the poetry she wrote the night the Messiah came to her in person. "Come unto me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." and showed it to her co-worker. He then quietly pulled out a book and showed Afrooz Matthew 11:28. She was shocked! That same Bible verse was identical to the poem she had scripted. She asked, "What is that book you have?" He told her it was the Bible; it was the very first Bible she had ever seen. That was the beginning of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She suddenly understood, that person who showed up truly was the real Messiah and He had been at work on her behalf this entire time before she even prayed and asked. Jesus was working on her behalf all this time and that even included bringing another believer and her together at the same job at the right time. However it wasn't going to be an easy path Jesus was leading her through. After those face to face encounters in the night with Jesus, Afrooz knew she was called to share the Gospel with others.

another muslim man becomes a christianThere in Iran, Afrooz became actively involved in one of the un-derground Churches. It is there she met Farshad. His testimony – how he came to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord – started in his searching for a living God since he was a teenager. He shared with Afrooz how growing up he had lots of unanswered questions about life, people, and religions but could never get a common sense answer. He too was born and raised in an Islamic Iran where Islam is the religion of more than 90% of the popula-tion. He was surrounded with Islamic ideas. The main teaching is "Islam is the last, best, and most complete religion." But he would privately ask himself, “If it is the best, then what is the worst? What does completion mean? If this is the most complete

religion, why is asking questions about God prohibited? Why is there no love, forgiveness, grace, and kindness?” He searched other religions and ideas such as Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, communism, along with some others, but he still couldn't find a god he longed to have a relationship with. After years of struggling with all of these ideas, questions of self and God, he came up with his own idea. "If God doesn't come to me, I will go to him!" Farshad decided to take his own life to free his soul from the cage of his flesh, because he be-lieved he could not see God since he is in the flesh. He made a timeline for God and told Him, "If you reveal yourself to me ev-erything will change, otherwise, I am coming to you!" A week before he executed his plan, he met someone through a rela-tives who invited him to church. It was strange for him and so farfetched from his thoughts because all he knew was Islam is the best! He gave it a try since he was set on his vow that he was going to end his life that weekend. He thought spending a few hours in the church wouldn't matter anyhow. But the moment he stepped into that Church everything inside him changed. He saw joy, hope, and life. Everything was different than the world he was living in. After worship songs and announcements, he admitted it strongly affected him. The preacher went on stage and opened his bible and started a sermon like this: "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." From there all he could remem-ber was Jesus embracing him and at the end of the ceremony he found himself in front of the stage on his knees, weeping and crying to Jesus, submitting himself, accepting Jesus as his savior and his God. God made a way to join Afrooz and Farshad together through the underground Church where they first met. Soon afterwards they started to plan their future and a wedding. The Iranian secret police found out about their wedding. Afrooz and Farshad were located and detained by the police on their wedding night at the hotel where they were staying in. The authorities harassed them for proof, asking, "How do we know you are married?" Afrooz didn't back down she answered them saying, "What I am wearing says that I'm a bride, and what my husband is wearing says he's a groom!" The interrogation persisted questioning the newlyweds of their church involvement as well as who married them. As soon as they collected the information of the name of the church and the pastor who married the couple, the police went and threatened the church and pastor as well. Soon after the police released Afrooz and Farshad, they moved to Northern Iran to escape from heavy persecu-tion but still suffered attacks from traditional, radical long

bearded Muslims. As if this wasn't enough pressure on them, more adverse issues were brewing. She and her husband had a daughter they named Emmanuel (a Christian name). They went to have Emmanuel registered at the government office. The office made the registration near to impossible. During the registration process Afrooz and her husband were not defeated. They still continued advancements in their under-ground Church. Afrooz took on leadership in the women's ministry as God provided a way to travel outside of the coun-try to meet with other Christians. Time had passed and Em-manuel was old enough to begin pre-school but the school system refused to enroll her because of her parent’s Christian faith. This was an attempt to build up a legal case for the gov-ernment to take Afrooz's daughter away under parental ne-glect to provide an education in order to place and raise Em-manuel in a traditional Muslim home. Without delay Afrooz and Farshad turned to God in prayer for wisdom and direc-tion. They moved to Turkey, then through the U.N., they re-located to live with a relative here in the United States. Afrooz continued to keep her heart focused on her calling, desiring

to go to Bible college, but wasn’t fluent enough in the English language to attend Bible courses. Only knowing her native language Farsi, she enrolled in English courses in a community college. Her professor assigned the students to write a theme in an essay concerning their personal aim for taking these English courses. Afrooz wrote that she wanted to learn English well enough to go to Bible college so she can share more effectively the Gospel with the lost. When the pro-fessor read this he pulled her aside and invited her to his home church, Greater Grace Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He introduced her to those who helped

her achieve her goals, becoming a Maryland Bible College Student and later a graduate! Unceasing miracles unfolded in the life of Afrooz as people longed to know her life story. God made another powerful con-nection between Afrooz, Pastor El Shan, and CFO. Pastor El Shan, a member of the Greater Grace Church, makes visitations every few years here in the U.S. from his church in his home-land of Baku, Azerbaijan. Pastor El Shan uses CFO bracelets and evangelizes to Muslims in Baku, but was unable to use the CFO tracts since no Farsi translation existed. CFO tried for two years to get a Farsi tract translated and printed without success. Fi-nally CFO President, Wilson Lippy went to Afrooz and Pastor El Shan telling them there was no choice but to give up on the Farsi tract. Afrooz wouldn't hear such nonsense! Sternly she lectured Wilson, "Giving up is not an option! You must have these tracts translated into Farsi! This is our only effective way to share the Gospel to my people in Iran." Afrooz volunteered to translate the CFO tract and it was printed within a few short months. Pas-

tor El Shan took the newly translated Farsi tract back with him to Baku, Azerbaijan. He later emailed powerful results to CFO of last year’s miracle of people in Baku turning to Jesus that was printed in last year’s CFO's magazine! (See the article printed in the 2014 CFO Magazine.)

victim to victorious Afrooz and her family had to overcome pain and anguish in their past from severe persecution they suffered for years being Christians while in Iran. For the longest time, she and her fam-ily here in the U.S. kept in secret but over time as she shared her testimony she then appeared publicly in Charisma Maga-zine and in The Voice of the Martyrs magazine. She had been a guest speaker at many Christian Events including the 2014 CFO luncheon sharing her testimony of how she got saved and the dangers experienced because of her faith. She has shared the terror of how her mentor and pastor ended up murdered and how his body parts were dismembered and placed in his freezer to intimidate and silence people like her who are Chris-tians preaching the gospel in an Islamic nation. For ten years Afrooz prayed for her own brother, a devout Muslim, who was responsible for reporting her to the police and even threatened her life, keeping her family on the run in Iran. Now, ten years later, he too received Jesus as savior and Lord through the un-failing love of Jesus by Afrooz. She never gave up believing in God's heart for her brother. Here in the U.S. she was detained by a security officer in Walmart when she was seen witness-ing to another customer from the CFO tract. She firmly stated to the security officer, "Sir, I retreated from my country Iran where I and my family were persecuted for being a Christian. I thought the U.S. offered freedom of religion and here you are arresting me for sharing my faith to another person." That statement convicted the security officer’s heart and he let her go informing her that she is free to share in the parking lot, but to keep it outside of the Walmart building.

jesus is the messageThere is so much we can learn from Afrooz and Farshad’s walk with Christ as they together reach out to the lost. They have been to many different parts of the world sharing the mes-sage of salvation with others. Afrooz believes the CFO color beads are by far the most effective way to share the gospel in any region of the world. Afrooz and Farshad are assisting CFO with another tract to be translated for the Afghan people. Con-cerned for their safety Wilson asked about the possible dangers they could face with taking a gospel tract to Afghanistan. But Afrooz, with bold Christ-filled love, expressed much confi-dence saying “My people in Afghanistan are extremely humble and loving people who are open hearted and in desperate need of hearing the Gospel in their language. The CFO tract makes the message very easy to understand with the color beads. It’s about the message behind the color beads. The lost are re-sponding too. They want Jesus."

in Just in one week with the use of the colors, a mission’s team reached 663 people who received Jesus as savior and lord. The ministry team from North Carolina, led by Pas-tor Scott Betts, discipled many at receptions held so locals could fellowship and be inspired by the word of God. The team also reached out by following up with many people who had previously made professions of faith. They called via phone and visiting home. They wanted to be sure each could be reached with God’s love and encouragement in their new life in Christ. The CFO witnessing supplies were a big part of their evangelism efforts and helped result in many decisions for Christ.

the lord made him a fruitful farmerThe Lord provided perfect weather plus uplifting messages and music at the 27th annual Christian Farmers Outreach Lun-cheon on an early March Saturday. Close to 500 people left the fire hall inspired by powerful messages of God at work around the world. Many came away recommitted to Christ. A number answered God’s call-ing to give their hearts to Jesus for the very first time. All listened intently to keynote speak-er Rick Bernstein, co-founder with wife Carol of First Fruits Farm, a not-for-profit produce farm at Freeland, Maryland. His was a powerful testimony of how God brought him to Christ for a specific calling – to be a farmer. “What are the odds that a Jewish kid from Pikesville would be addressing the CFO luncheon?” he began. “Thirty years ago, this would be the last place on earth I’d expect to be – sharing my faith here with you.” At age 38, life was great for him. He was very successful in the investment world. “I had a wonderful wife, three great kids, lots of money, and lots of friends.”

but something was missingOne day, he picked up the Bible and read Ecclesiastes. “This guy Solomon had it all – wealth, wisdom, power – all that we believe important in this world. Yet it was all meaningless without God’s plan and purpose.” That started Bernstein on a pilgrim-age that led him to Jesus Christ, and to what’s now First Fruits Farm. As his rela-tionship with the Lord grew, the couple’s vision for the farm grew. “As farmers, Carol and I knew abso-lutely nothing – zero,” he admitted. “Did we have a master plan for how First Fruit Farm would become what it is today? No. Did we have lots of farm equipment? No. What we did have was the most impor-tant thing – a calling from the Lord.” Bernstein noted John 15:5, where Je-sus said: “I am the vine and you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” To that Rick re-soundingly said: “Amen?! Amen! Amen!” And God did provide all that First Fruits Farm needed – land, resources, provisions, equipment, and volunteer la-

bor for the harvests. In 2013, First Fruits raised 160 acres of snap beans, tomatoes, and other food crops – all to be given away in Jesus’ name. Bernstein was totally amazed that “God even provided a man who knew how to drive, maintain and repair the harvest-ing machine. You can’t make this stuff up!” he added. In 2013, First Fruits Farm was able to grow, harvest and give away nearly 1.4 mil-lion pounds of fresh, nutritious food to rescue missions and food banks.  “We believe deeply that the Lord brought all of these factors together,” concluded this faith-filled farmer. “We’re grateful for His abundant grace.”

“god doesn’t call the equipped. he equips those he calls.”

Many love to talk about God’s love and salvation, yet ignore the “keys” to the gate of Heaven. That’s like the car salesman who extols how won-derful his shiny new auto is, yet nev-er asks: “Would you like to own it?” There’s a huge eternal risk to not

“closing the deal”. In John 3, Jesus said, “You must be born again to enter the kingdom of Heaven.” In fact, he said it three times to Nicodemus who knew all about the church of his day and religion. We, too, must clearly understand what Jesus meant. Whether we are teachers, pastors or mere church-goers, we must understand the huge impor-tance of coming to a decision point—to actually seek God’s forgiveness and ask Jesus to be our Savior and Lord of the rest of our lives. What’s more, if we are called to share that sal-vation message, we need to pray for the Holy Spirit’s boldness to bring others to that decision point.

do you ‘trust’ or just ‘hope’When asked if they know they’re going to Heaven, most of those coming into CFO booths or tents say “I hope so.” But so many stop just short of accepting God’s grace and full assurance. In other words, they don’t trust that God’s grace will deliver them.

if you don’t completely trust in god’s grace to “save” you, what have you?You don’t really have faith in Him. And, if you don’t have faith and trust in your Creator’s grace and prom-ise of deliverance, then your faith is no stronger than a cultural Christian’s or a non-Christian’s. Worse, you’re at great risk of not gaining your “ticket to Heaven.” Yes, that’s a strong statement. But the New Testa-ment repeatedly says we can be 100% certain of our assurance of Heaven. If you doubt, please note the ab-solute, positive affirmation found in these scriptures:

the challenge

Why you must ‘close the deal’!

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 5:24: “. . . whoever hears My [Jesus] word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

Romans 10:9: “. . . if you confess with your mouth, ‘Je-sus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:13: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved, through faith . . . It is the gift of God, not by your works.

1 John 5:13: “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

being ‘good’ isn’t good enoughMany hope that being “good” and living a life of “good works” will get them inside the Pearly Gates. Again, we must go back to what the Bible actually says. And Galatians 2:16 makes it clear: “Know that a person is not justified by works, but by faith in Je-sus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works.” Bluntly put, the “hopers” and “good workers” haven’t yet crossed the threshold from being cul-tural Christians to being faith-filled, trusting Christ-followers. If you’re one of them, you’re over-due for a spiritual heart change and the awesome blessings coming with it. The price has been paid! It’s yours for the asking! It’s time for you to ‘close the deal’!

Whether we are teachers, pastors or mere church-goers, we must understand the huge importance of coming to a decision point—to actually seek God’s forgiveness and ask Jesus to be our Savior and Lord of the rest of our lives.

John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

CFO workers are sharing the gospel activating faith in others through the message of the cross. Christ gives 100% assurance through the redeeming salvation that is at work within them when they receive Him as Lord and Savior. People have faith

about God. They often are not sure where to put faith in God so they place their faith in the pattern of their old ways of thinking. "I go to church, I pray. I got bap-tized when I was a baby. I try and do good things to assure myself I am saved." These are signs and symbols found over and over again in so many. Their fractured assurance hinders their full understanding of the meaning of the mes-sage in the blood of Christ on the cross which offers 100% assurance of salvation. Having faith in what Je-sus did on our behalf simply complements our faith in God's love for us. God's gift was more than enough to save us. The message of the color beads is the very mes-sage of truth that sets us free from fear and leads to faith in whom the Son has set free is free indeed (John 8:32-36). The message of the colored beads tells what Jesus did for us on the cross and through His resur-rection. When we cross to Christ we choose to walk away from sin and step into the arms of our Savior who paid it all. We experience His unconditional love

and His nature grows in us. If you have to earn a free gift, it really isn't free. God's salvation is a free gift. Freely receive it by having faith in His heart. His free gift of salvation is his message of His love for you. (Romans 5:8)

faith in what jesus did We encourage every new believer to get baptized, pray, read the Bible, and become active in a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church. We also ask them to share the salvation message with as many people as possible. However it’s not by those works that we are saved. It’s by receiving the complete and finished work Jesus did on the cross for us. There are so many around the world who are in a situation where Bibles are banned or there are no churches to attend. But what is the good news for those facing barriers? They have received Jesus as savior and Lord and are part of the church body. We, those who are believers in Christ, are daily praying for them, knowing God is on the move. His will, His love, and His plan is working in their lives against all odds.

activate your faithTake time now to read the testimonies in this maga-zine. You will see evidence of God's love activated in the lives of others. Be inspired to get in connection with God's calling for your life. You are a vessel of hope in this world that can make all the difference in the lives of others. Take time and read Jeremiah 1:5. The world we live in needs to be told about a mighty God who loves them. The world doesn't suffer a lack of religion. We in Christ have something more than that; we are a family because we have a relationship with Father God through our Lord Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

By Mary Lee Lippy

“thankful – he is always with me!”

mark Brown returned to the CFO booth at the 2014 Carroll County 4-h & FFa Fair. in 2013 he accepted Christ in the booth at the same fair. the volunteer who had led him to Christ was mary Lee Lippy. when mark found out mary Lee would return to the booth later in the day, he decided to wait – almost two hours – so he could personally thank her for leading him to Jesus. when asked how his relationship with Jesus has been he said, “i know the Lord is always with me.”

salvation decisions haVe you put your faith in jesus?

october 1, 2013—september 30, 2014

if you are not sure where you stand with Jesus, you can be 100% certain of your eternity and salvation. If you believe Christ died for you and God’s plan of salvation is a gift freely given to all sinners, then you only need to ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord. Come to Him with every imper-fect part of your life, believe on Him, and begin your new walk in the Lord. The Bible is filled with God’s unfailing promises but His greatest promise is eternal life, offered to anyone who personally believes in and accepts as personal savior, Jesus Christ. Start by simply talking to God – you can pray something like this: O God, I am a sinner, I’m sorry for my sin. I want to turn from my sin. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son; I believe He died for my sin and You raised Him to life; I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward, forevermore. Jesus, I put my trust in You and surrender my life to Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Do it right now – then contact us and we will send information to help you. We have a follow-up book entitled “Beginning Again” which will start you on your new walk with Christ.

a perfect evening picnic2014 cfo summer picnic

On a perfect mid-June evening, the barn at Foggy Bottom Farm resonated with laughter, sweet bluegrass/gospel music and inspiring messages. Outside, the trac-tor and people-filled hay wagon purred and rocked as it wound its way through the fields of green. The farm pond reflected the deep blue cloudless sky as paddle boats rippled its waters. On the hillside, some just soaked in the setting’s solitude as children scam-pered through the streaming creek below. That was God’s creative setting for CFO’s 2014 summer picnic. And close to 300 souls listened to the personal testimo-

nies of God’s awesome work via Christian Farmers Outreach and ministries it inspires. They enjoyed the company of kin-dred hearts and toe-tapping music of the Carroll County Ramblers. Amidst it all came the fresh sweet corn, fried chicken, grilled sausages, juicy melons and an eve-ning topped off with ice cream. An evening of celebration . . . of giv-ing God the glory.

Many of us know Wilson Lippy as the President of CFO, but not many know what drives him to reach the lost. Join us at our new location for the 2015 CFO Luncheon – February 28th at Union Bridge Fire Hall. Wilson will share his journey from help-ing lead a large farming operation to founding a large Christian organization; from a heart of-fended by the Gospel to a new life in Christ. Wilson grew up on a dairy farm in Hamp-stead and knew from a very early age he was going to farm. In a house built in 1775, Wilson sleeps in the room where he and his sister and three brothers were born. After attending the University of Maryland, Wilson came home and farmed with his brothers for 41 years as part of Lippy Brothers Inc., a large farming operation based in Hampstead, Maryland. He served Carroll County’s Soil Conservation Dis-trict for 30 years, 25 as its chairman and Carroll County Land Preservation as member and later Chairman. He has held seats on Carroll County’s Economic Development Board, the Mary-land Soybean Board, Ag Secretary Richard E. Lyng’s USDA Hon-or Awards Committee, and the Baltimore Air Quality Board. A member of Gideons International, Wilson served as president of the local chapter. He devoted three years to be-

ing the Delmarva & D.C. Scripture Coordinator and represented the Gideons abroad in both Ja-pan and South Africa. He was a founding mem-ber of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers, Int’l, and later cofounded Christian Farmers Out-reach, Inc. He served as a deacon in church for twelve years. Wilson loves watching baseball, football, and basketball. He’s an avid hunter and loves fishing and traveling across our great country. He loves spending time with his six grandchildren and watching his granddaughters play lacrosse and soccer. But above all, he feels unspeakable joy when sharing Christ with others.

Come hear the passion behind the man who continues to lead CFO today. His unwavering commitment to reaching lost souls is an integral part of the ministry and a legacy to drive CFO as it reaches souls around the globe for many years to come.

President, cfOW. Wilson Lippy
