NOTES FROM FR. BOB

One of the great blessings of living in Michigan is the changing of the seasons. The newness of this fall weath-er helps us look forward in anticipation of new things, while at the same time bringing back memories of the past. Enjoy the cool weather and beautiful colors! This Sunday, October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. A key characteristic of Franciscan spirituality is recognizing the dignity of God in all of His creation. We will commemorate this day NEXT week with the annual Blessing of Pets. Last year we had dogs and cats and even a rooster! Check the mail in the coming week for the new St. Isi-dore - Holy Family newsletter. If you do not receive a mailing that likely means that you either are either not registered or we have an incorrect mailing address. Reg-istration can be updated by contacting Sharon in the par-ish office or simply by asking myself for an update form before or after Mass. Realigning Resources. This past Thursday the priests of the Diocese of Lansing met with Bishop Boyea to hear updates from the Realigning Resources for Mission Committee and to give feedback on the process. Bishop Boyea has challenged us to discern new ways in which parishes can work together to better advance the mission

of the Church. We will be scheduling a parish meeting on this process in November or December with mem-bers of the RRM Committee. Please continue to follow updates on this process in Faith Magazine. Thank you so very much for your continued outpouring of prayers and support as I mourn the death of my moth-er. I have been slowly opening your cards over these days and have found great comfort in your expressions. I am blessed to be a part of this loving parish community. God bless! Fr. Bob [email protected]
