NOTICE OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS ALCOSTA BOULEVARD PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT CIP 905602 FEDERAL PROJECT NO. STPL 5437 (031) Planned Construction Period: August 2021 to October 2021 Construction of the Alcosta Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project is anticipated to begin in early August 2021. The proposed improvements will include localized pavement repairs, asphalt concrete resurfacing and/or reconstruction, pavement striping and markings, and other miscellaneous work to complete the Project. Work limits are - Alcosta Boulevard from Veracruz Drive to Olympia Fields Drive as shown in the attached location map. In order to complete the proposed improvements, it is necessary to close the street partially or completely to vehicular traffic during construction work hours due to safety concerns. In particular, sections of northbound Alcosta Boulevard will be closed for up to 14 days. Stretches of the southbound frontage road will be closed for periods of one day at a time. Various driveways may be temporarily blocked for various durations during construction. Detour routes and traffic controls will be established and additional information will be provided closer to start of construction. This Project has long been anticipated and is necessary to bring Alcosta Boulevard up to City standards. The City asks for the public’s cooperation and consideration while construction is underway. Please drive carefully through the construction zones, follow posted speed limit, and detour routes. While the Project has been planned to minimize impacts to the traveling public, some construction impacts and inconvenience cannot be avoided. As with any major road construction, traffic delays and temporary roadway and lane closures are to be expected. The City has contracted with DeSilva Gates Construction LP of Dublin to perform the roadway improvement work.
