ADDENDUM NO. 1 YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO READ AND TO NOTE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED CHANGES, CORRECTIONS, CLARIFICATIONS, OMISSIONS, DELETIONS, ADDITIONS, APPROVALS AND STATEMENTS PERTINENT TO THE CONTRACT AND CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. THIS ADDENDUM IS A PART OF THE CONTRACT AND CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND SHALL GOVERN IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK. Bid Date: Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm

GENERAL

1. Attached with this addendum is the Pre-Bid Sign-in Sheet from meeting held on 5/5/2020.

2. Bid Form – Due to addendum changes, a revised Bid Form will be issued to General Contractors prior to the bid date.

ARCHITECTURAL –Specifications

1. Section 01270 Unit Prices – Add the attached section in its entirety. 2. Section 07272 Fluid-Applied, Vapor-Permeable Membrane Air Barriers – Paragraph 2.01.A. – Include W.R. Meadows

Air-Shield LMP as an approved product for binding purposes. All products and installation must meet or exceed specifications.

3. Section 07611 Pre-Manufactured Sheet Metal Roofing – Part 2 Products – Include Firestone as an approved Manufacturer for roofing and soffit panel, along with associated trim.

4. Section 08111 Standard Steel Doors and Frames – Paragraph 2.1 – Include Mesker as an approved manufacturer for bidding purposes. All products must meet specification.

5. Section 09400 Resinous Flooring – Paragraph1.2 – Delete reference to Double Broadcast. System shall be Trowel Grade – Basis of Specification is Desco Quartz Cremona TG.

6. Section 09400 Resinous Flooring – 2.1.A.1. Manufacturers - include Stonhard as an approved manufacturer for bidding purposes. All products must meet or exceed specifications.

7. Section 09400 Resinous Flooring – 2.1.A.1. Manufacturers - Include Tennant as an approved manufacturer for bidding purposes. All products must meet or exceed specifications.

8. Section 09650 Resilient Flooring - Paragraph 3.03 Stair Coverings – Clarification – There are no rubber stair treads included in this project.

9. Section 09650 Resilient Flooring, Paragraph 3.05.F – Delete reference to basket weave installation. Vinyl plank flooring shall be laid with staggered end joints, random length.

10. Section 09900 – Painting, Interior paint schedule – Item 8, Steel and Wood Roof Structure and Components – Dryfall paint at all areas shall be alkyd dryfall, eg-shel finish. Intended color is to be dark gray/charcoal, final color to be selected.

11. Section 10431 – Signage – 1.02.A – The allowance amount should be $20,000, in lieu of $15,000. 12. Section 10850 – Building Specialties – 1.02.B – Delete this paragraph in its entirety. Signage allowance shall be as

identified in Section 10431 Signage.

ARCHITECTURAL – Drawings 1. Sheets A2.1 and A2.2 Floor Plans – Reference the attached revised sheets A2.1 and A2.2 showing the addition of stud

and drywall display walls located Kustom Kemps Expansion Gallery 107 and Gallery 137. 2. Sheets A4.1-A4.6, Wall Sections – At Area B, new construction clerestory windows shall be window units in lieu of

aluminum storefront. Reference specification section 08520 Aluminum Windows, for window types. 3. Sheets A4.5 and A4.6 Wall Sections – At clerestory roofs, delete reference to tongue and groove ceiling finish. Finished

ceiling is to be dryfall painted acoustical roof deck. Roof deck profile is shown on structural detail H/S3.1. 4. Sheet A5.1, Detail A Area A, B, and C Roof Plan – Contractor shall remove existing roof materials to original wood deck.

Perform all cleaning and prep as required to install new roof systems components. 5. Sheet A5.1, Detail A Area A, B, and C Roof Plan – Contractor shall provide tapered insulation crickets between all

building sections to ensure positive drainage to roof scuppers. 20 year warranty shall be maintained. 6. Sheet A5.1, Detail A Area A, B, and C Roof Plan – In lieu of retaining existing roof curbs, contractor shall remove all

existing skylight roof curbs in their entirety. Infilled roof areas shall be per the structural details. 7. Sheet A7.1, Detail a Reflected Ceiling Plan - Where Axion ceiling trim is indicated, the trim sections shall be 4” tall, run

in maximum permissible lengths. 8. Sheet A7.1, Detail a Reflected Ceiling Plan – Clarification. Where existing structure at gallery areas is to be exposed and

painted, the contractor shall thoroughly clean the existing components using compressed air to provide a clean surface suitable for final finish. Remove incidental dirt or debris by hand or other method as required to get rid of anything that will prevent the bonding of paint finish.

9. Sheet A8.1, Restroom Elevations – Restroom floors are to be Epoxy Resin system with 6” integral cove base. The wall tile shall begin just above the floor base. Install Schluter trim at bottom edge of tile, just above the resin base.

10. Sheet A8.2, Detail A – Snack Bar Elevations – Snack Bar floors are to be Epoxy Resin system with 6” integral base at all walls. Rubber base shall be located only at the toe-kick area of the base cabinets.

11. Sheet A9.1 and A9.3 Interior Elevations – Reference the attached revised sheets A9.1 and A9.3 identifying the stud and drywall display walls at Galleries 107 and 137.

12. Sheet A10.1, Interior Finish Schedule – Note the following Changes and/or Clarifications to the Finish Schedule: A. Gallery 137 – The stairs to the North Gallery area shall be polished concrete finish to match floors as

closely as possible. B. Women’s Restroom 126 – Base to be self-cove Epoxy in lieu of ceramic tile. C. Men’s Restroom 127 – Base to be self-cove Epoxy in lieu of ceramic tile.

13. Sheet A10.1, Glazing Schedule – A3 Glazing type, delete reference to diffused glass. Glass shall be insulated and tempered.

14. Sheet A10.1, Glazing Schedule – Clarification, All interior glazing shall be clear. All exterior glazing shall be tinted. 15. Section 10.1, Door Schedule – Door 136 shall be type A door with clear, tempered glazing.

MECHANICAL

1. Section 233100, HVAV Ducts and Casings – Replace section with attached.

MECHANICAL – Drawings 1. Sheet M1.4, Area A & B domestic Water Plan – Hot water pipe at Snack Bar 123 is incorrectly indicated as 2”. Provide a ¾” pipe in lieu of the

2” that is indicated. 2. Sheet M6.1, Gas Fired Rooftop Unit Schedule – Units are to be provided with ECM or variable speed motors. RTU01, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 are to be

capable of single zone VAV operation with staged compressors. ELECTRICAL – Specifications 1. Section 2.1.B, Manufacturers include Honeywell Fire-Lite as an approved manufacturer for bidding purposes. All products must meet or

UNIT PRICES

PART 1 - GENERAL

1. GENERAL A. Work contemplated under various proposed Unit Prices shall include all labor, materials,

equipment and services necessary for, or incidental to, completion of all Work under each item. B. Unit Prices shall comply with similar conditions of the Drawings and Specifications provided

under the Base Bid. C. Furnish separate Bids for each Unit Price in the space provided on the Form of Bid stating the

amount to ADD to the Base Bid in the event of acceptance. D. Each Unit Price proposed shall include all ultimate costs for all omissions, additions, substitutions

and adjustments made by all trades involved.

2. UNIT PRICES

A. Unit Prices generally will not be considered in determining the lowest responsible Bidder for the Project. However, if the Owner feels the low Bidder has submitted an inordinately high unit price, it may factor in an estimated number of units and calculate the total unit prices. If this is done, the lowest responsible bidder will be determined by comparing the Base Bid, Alternates if any, and the Unit Price calculation.

B. Unit Prices shall be as listed below:

1. UNIT PRICE NO. 1 Remove unsuitable soil and replace with low volume change material. Existing unsuitable soil shall be excavated and removed from site. New material shall meet the requirements of the geotechnical report. New material shall be placed in lifts as required by the geotechnical report. The Base Bid shall include all removal, replacement, and conditioning as identified by the geotechnical report. The unit pricing is for incidental areas that are not identified, described, or could not be interpreted from the geotechnical investigation.

compatible with substrates, and recommended by manufacturer for pressure class of ducts.2. Surface Burning Characteristics: Flame spread of zero, smoke developed of zero, when tested in

accordance with ASTM E84.3. For Use With Flexible Ducts: UL labeled.

C. Hanger Rod: ASTM A36/A36M; steel, galvanized; threaded both ends, threaded one end, orcontinuously threaded.

D. Hanger Fasteners: Attach hangers to structure using appropriate fasteners, as follows:1. Concrete Wedge Expansion Anchors: Complying with ICC-ES AC193.2. C. Provide duct material, gages, reinforcing, and sealing for operating pressures indicated.D. Construct T's, bends, and elbows with radius of not less than 1-1/2 times width of duct on centerline.

Where not possible and where rectangular elbows must be used, provide air foil turning vanes ofperforated metal with glass fiber insulation.

E. Provide air foil turning vanes when rectangular elbows must be used.F. Increase duct sizes gradually, not exceeding 15 degrees divergence wherever possible; maximum 30

degrees divergence upstream of equipment and 45 degrees convergence downstream.G. Fabricate continuously welded round and oval duct fittings in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct

H. Provide high efficiency 45 degree wye takeoffs for all branch ducts in medium and low pressuresystems.

PART 3 EXECUTION3.1 INSTALLATION

A. Install, support, and seal ducts in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards -Metal and Flexible.

B. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.C. During construction provide temporary closures of metal or taped polyethylene on open ductwork to

prevent construction dust from entering ductwork system.D. Duct sizes indicated are inside clear dimensions. For lined ducts, maintain sizes inside lining.E. Install and seal metal and flexible ducts in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction

Standards - Metal and Flexible.F. Provide openings in ductwork where required to accommodate thermometers and controllers. Provide

pilot tube openings where required for testing of systems, complete with metal can with spring device orscrew to ensure against air leakage. Where openings are provided in insulated ductwork, installinsulation material inside a metal ring.

G. Locate ducts with sufficient space around equipment to allow normal operating and maintenanceactivities.

H. Use crimp joints with or without bead for joining round duct sizes 8 inch and smaller with crimp indirection of air flow.

I. Use double nuts and lock washers on threaded rod supports.J. Connect flexible ducts to metal ducts with draw bands and sealant plus sheet metal screws. Use a

maximum of 5' of flexible duct, at final connection to diffusers only, free of kinks. Do not install aboveinaccessible ceilings. Do not use flexible ductwork in exposed areas.

K. During construction provide temporary closures of metal or taped polyethylene on open ductwork toprevent construction dust from entering ductwork system.

L. Exposed spiral ductwork shall be supported from top chord of structural members, utilizing steel cablehangers and adjustable cable clamps.

3.2 CLEANINGA. Clean duct system and force air at high velocity through duct to remove accumulated dust. To obtain

sufficient air, clean half the system at a time. Protect equipment that could be harmed by excessive dirtwith temporary filters, or bypass during cleaning.

3.3 SCHEDULESA. Ductwork Material:

1. Low Pressure Supply: Steel.2. Return and Relief: Steel.3. General Exhaust: Steel.4. Outside Air Intake: Steel.5. At contractor's option, phenolic ductwork may be used for supply and return ductwork in medium

and low pressure systems.6. Dishwasher exhaust: aluminum or stainless steel7. Type II hood exhaust: stainless steel.

B. Ductwork Pressure Class:1. Low Pressure Supply: 1 inch.2. Return and Relief: 1 inch.3. General Exhaust: 1/2 inch.

C. Round and oval ductwork shall be double wall spiral where exposed. Provide a deduct alternate to usesingle wall spiral. Concealed ductwork may be spiral or fabricated.
