TECHNOLOGY How is your review of technology use going? Were you able to get at least one phone and TV free meal in last week? Let me know how your family got on sitting around the dinner table with no electronic devices. I would like to quote to you a portion of Jocelyn Brewer’s work on Digital Nutrition to help us understand her thinking. “Digital Nutrition borrows from the thinking around food nutrition and what makes a balanced diet and applies these concepts to how we consume information and ideas digitally through our devices and social media. We can think of some online activities as being more ‘nutritious’ from a social, psychological and cognitive perspective and others being more like ‘junk’ foods – those best consumed less often and with an understanding of the impacts of over-eating.” I am looking forward to meeting all the 2017 kinder parents at our orientation day tomorrow! JENNY’S CORNER There is one more week to purchase commemorative pavers. Please see information further in the Noticeboard. GREAT AUSSIE BUSH CAMP The students intending to go to the Great Aussie Bush Camp need to pay their deposits by Friday 16th September. Please remember that if you are experiencing financial stress in making any of these payments then please come and see me. We will be able to organise something. Enjoy your week. Steve Egginton Principal
