How to lap a keg(and tie into the best reason in the world to drink beer)

IPick up a half-barrel of Bud® (good for about 245 12-ounce cups . . . with foam) and the tapping equip

ment on the day of the party. Just set the beer in a tub of ice to keep it cold.

k

B u d w e i sSi 11 INC

2 Just before the party begins, tap your beer. First, make sure the

beer faucet is closed (you wouldn’t want to waste a drop of Beechwood Aged Bud!). Then, insert the faucet- and-pump unit into the upper valve of the keg, give it a quarter turn clockwise, and lock it in place by tightening the lower wing nut.

3 Next, insert the lager tapin the lower valve of the

keg and give it a quarter turn. Now, set the keg upright in a tub and pack ice around it.

4 You’re now ready to drawbeer. Pump pressv _ co the

proper point for good draw, usually about 15 lbs. That’s all there is to it, but there’s no rule against sa m p lin g just to make sure ev ery th in g is p erfect. Ahhhhh! I t’s no wonder you’ll find more taverns w ith the famous “Bud on Draught” sign than any other!

fou rth q u arte r w ith a scant one-po in t lead. The call is an end sweep by the halfback . He gets the ball, breaks one tack le , sets up a solid b lock , b reaks an o th e r tackle, and there goes th a t No. 20 across the goal line again .

The best p ro o f , how ever, lies in his statistics. These are some o f his m ore im p o rtan t sta ts: 967 yards gained rushing for his career (he should b reak 1,000 yards th is a fte rn o o n ), 68 career pass recep tions (he need fo u r m ore ca tches to becom e second only to Jim S eym our on the all-tim e ND list) good fo r an even 90 0 yards, and 22 career touchdow ns.

He leads the team in scoring th is season w ith 10 touchdow ns. This figure ranks ten th in the nation a t the p resen t. He is also the team leader in rushing this year w ith 462 yards. Besides this he ranks first fo r th e Irish in k ick o ff re tu rn s and is second in p u n t re tu rns.

E vidently som eone has been w atch ing Mr. G lad ieux fo r he has been invited to play in the first A m erican Bowl All S tar game Jan . 4 in T am pa, F la. He will perform for th e N o rth squad.

A fte r th is, Bob hopes to play professional foo tba ll. “ It really doesn’t m a tte r w hat team I play for, ju s t as long as I get a chance to p lay ,” says the sta lky Irish halfhack.

G ladieux has no regrets ab o u t com ing to ND. “ I alw ays w an ted to com e here because o f the

His biggest thrill while at N o t r e D a m e was n o t the t o u c h d o w n a g a in s t M S U , a lthough “ it was a th rill, b u t . . . ” Instead his g reatest thrill w as the com eback o f the ’67 season culm inating w ith the “ com e from b eh in d ” v ictory over Miami.
