wind power

Most wind turbines need a minimum 32' mast;

there is a 30' max hght.in the current building code

solar

only works 1/2 the time!

Battery technology is needed

to store power when the sun

isn't shining.

But batteries are hard to

dispose of.

Adjust the building code

to support/promote

sustainable self-generated power.

Also, guarantee the freedom

for county residence

to generate their own power.

Electricity drives our civilization. Moving the supply of it closer to the consumer will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower costs.

other installations are coming

conservation

Conserving energy

is the quickest win.

With the flip of just one

master switch substantially

reduce home energy

consumption.

master switch to cut power to all

leeching devices when you walk

out the door

Low-cost, higher-output

photovoltaics are coming.

Tax incentives for installing

solar, etc. exist

Japanese Residential Cogeneration

Program

Ballard Power Systems is working hand-in-

hand with major energy industry leaders

such as Tokyo Gas and Nippon Oil, to

expand interest and demand for residential

cogeneration systems operating on natural

gas and kerosene fuels.

fuel cell

Battery recycling program, to help

alleviate the mercury and other

stuff getting buried in landfills.

In Dublin, a dedicated bicycle lane is

generally available for on-road

cycling. A shared lane is the next

best option

Bike/Bus Lanes

Transportation – after coal-fired plants – causes the most pollution. Congestion is a perpetual problem – build more roads, and they just fill up with cars. Improve the quality of life for pedestrians (and make it safer) by promoting sidewalk construction.Bikes save money, get people in shape, and don't pollute.

Test out bus/bike lanes during

rush hour on a major road.

The problem with batteries is simple: They

simply can't store much energy, compared

to gasoline. While one kilogram of regular

gas stores 11,860 watt-hours of energy, a

lead-acid battery storing 44 watt-hours is

considered advanced.

Kilo per kilo, gasoline stores far more

energy than batteries.That simple calculus

worries the experts. "It is doubtful that

electric cars will ever enjoy the range or

performance advantages to which auto

users have become accustomed with

petroleum-fueled engines," says Art

MacCarley, a professor of electrical

engineering at California Polytechnic State

University in San Luis Obispo.

Upgrade diesel buses to

fleets of LNG or biodiesel

buses. This will reduce the

CO2 emissions generated,

reduce dependence on

imported oil dependency,

and in the case of biodiesel

engines actually run

cleaner and more efficient

than petrochemical diesel

Don’t drive to the office, or

fly to that conference, if you

can arrange to complete

your work/presentation

electronically, or via video

conferencing. Video

conferencing can reduce

99% of the energy used for

a trans-continental flight.
