Introduction to Centering Prayer Workshop
Saturday, November 14, 8:30 am - 1:00 pm In the Chelsea Garden Room
The workshop covers the basics of Centering Prayer for those who may be new to this practice and are seeking a deeper relationship with God by means of a meditative practice.
You will be invited to explore this way of prayer through a step by step journey that leads inward to a place of rest in God. It is to be open to the infinite and infinite possibilities. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other forms of prayer, it enhances prayer. Presenters: parishioners Ed Savoy and Bob Fasulo, certified to facilitate workshops by Father Thomas Keating, a Trappist monk and founder of Contemplative Outreach.
Contact the: Parish Office @ 941-923-1961 to register. Got Change?During November, a large glass change jar will be dis-played in the Gathering Area. You may place any loose change you have laying around and collecting dust in it. Each week we’ll post a running total. Last year, $4,217.01 in change was given, let’s top it this year!
The change collection is an easy, fun way to give to our St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference at St. Thomas More Church.
Thank you to our generous parishioners and friends! Last week’s blood drive netted 20 pints of blood given. We reached our goal!

Fabric Donations: Pillowcases for Children with CancerThe St. Thomas More Quilters request your support of our children’s charities. We are in need of childrens-themed cotton fabric in one yard increments or more. We use this fabric to make pillowcases for children undergoing treatment at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
These colorful pillowcases will help brighten up an otherwise sterile hospital room. Fabric may be put in the baskets in the church Gathering Area or brought to the Quilters on Monday or Thursday. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted.
