1 Fraunhofer AICOS
Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS presents the
results from its research on medical de-
vices which set themselves apart for their
accessibility in terms of ease of use and
cost, while demonstrating a highly com-
petitive performance, including (a) device
for mobile-based risk assessment of dia-
betic retinopathy by image processing, (b)
mobile dermatology device for automatic
skin image capture and automatic risk
assessment of skin lesions and (c) system
for fall risk screening and falls prevention.
2 Fraunhofer IPA
The Department for Automation in Medi-
cine and Biotechnology at the heart of
the University Medical Center Mannheim
is a full service provider to drive innova-
tions in healthcare. As a registered Digital
Innovation Hub, we act as a local entry
point to several medical services from
concept development to testing under
realistic conditions and environments. Our
engineers and natural scientists are happy
to hear more about your individual needs
and ideas.
3 Fraunhofer IIS
HandsOn.surgery – immersive virtual
surgery training;
Image analysis for precision medicine and
life science research: iSTIX® – manual
whole slide scanning and Endorama® –
panorama imaging for endoscopy.
4 Fraunhofer IGD
AI for individual health – At Fraunhofer
IGD, methods and processes of machine
learning and artificial intelligence have
been used for years to analyze and evalu-
ate vital and health data as well as dis-
ease-related patient data. These include,
among other things, AI-based medical
image processing, visual cohort analysis,
and anomaly detection in vital data.
