Mission Speaker This WeekendWe welcome Father Dan Dorsey of the GLENMARY HOME MISSIONERS, who will speak at all the Masses on behalf of the home mission work of Glenmary priests, brothers and coworkers.
Father Dan, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was ordained to the priesthood in 1978. In addition to serving as the novitiate director for Glenmary, he has ministered in Glenmary missions in Kentucky and Arkansas. In the past, he served two terms as president of the society and is currently serving as the Director of the Novitiate.
Canned Goods Collection for Thanksgiving This week will be your last opportunity to help fill our cornucopia with canned goods for our Thanksgiving altar display. An overflowing cornucopia will be a symbol of the generous bounty of food we can be thankful for, and the labor of those who make it possible for us to prepare and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. After the holiday, these donations will be given to Bethesda House and All Faiths Food Bank. Baskets are in the Gathering Area and Parish Office for donations.

Remember/Honor Loved OnesOne of the highlights of our Christmas decorations is
the 7 foot poinsettia tree, containing 70 poinsettias and 50 candles, on display in the Gathering Area.
It will be a memorial tree, giving parishioners an opportunity to remember or honor a loved one through sponsoring of a poinsettia. We will publish a list of all who made a $20 contribution, and the names of those to be remembered or honored.
Mail/drop off your donation: St. Thomas More Church, 2506 Gulf Gate Drive, Sarasota, FL 34231.
Checks are to be made payable to St. Thomas More Church. Please include, clearly printed and on a separate sheet, the name(s) of the person(s) you wish to remember or honor.
We need your Help!It is time to decorate the Church, Chelsea Center and Spirit Center for the Christmas Season. We could use EXTRA help on the following dates:

Jobs include sorting, organizing, working customer service, merchandising, cashiering and research. We have flexible 2, 3 & 4-hour and full-day shifts available. Would you consider becoming part of our
volunteer team and help us one or more days per week? We are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and hope to be open on Sunday afternoons very soon.
Proceeds from our store help St. Vincent de Paul help the poor and needy. Your volunteer work is vital to help us make the store successful so we can provide funds for the council's programs and the people its members help. Please stop by the store at 2711 Mall Drive in Gulf Gate and pick up a volunteer packet or call 941-444-9343 for more information.

St. Vincent dePaul Society - Donate your changeDuring November, a large glass change jar will be displayed in
church. Throughout the week, collect change and bring it to Mass, depositing it in the jar. Each week we’ll post a total. Last year, $4,217.01 in change (as well as 1,5,10 & 20 dol-lar bills) was given, let’s top it this year!
The change collection is an easy, fun way to give to our St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference at St. Thomas More Church. This past week’s donations: $446.02.
Check out our website: stthomasmoresrq.orgLearn more about the Tanzania trip parishioners Charlie O’Donnell, Stan Muessle, Kathy Howard and Terry Houlihan took as part of Global Outreach, the non-governmental philan-thropic organization founded by Stan. Take the time to read about their mission work and view some great photos.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry will have a shawl distribution on Sunday, Nov. 22. Stop after Mass to select a shawl for someone you know.
Our ministry meets on the first and third Wednesday monthly at 1:30 pm. New members are welcome at any time--even if you can attend only occasionally, we would love to meet you.
