Your Christmas outreaches happening around the world!Asia Christmas outreaches sharing the "reason for the season"Thank you to everyone who is helping provide the Good News of Jesus to Asia’s next generation this Christmas!

Manga Manger is a special-edition Book of Hope created specifically in response to requests from Thailand for a Christmas-themed Scripture book.

Thai people, although traditionally Buddhist, love Christmastime because of the special decorations, lights, music and celebration. This creates a perfect season for outreach, and last year the

response was very positive to the Book of Hope —

But we believe it will even be better this year as young people receive the Manga Manger book, with more focus on the nativity story (in the Asian “manga” graphics style), Christmas games and activities, and more.

We’re partnering with 1,000 churches to reach one million children and youth in Thailand this Christmas!

Christmas outreaches are also taking place in Singapore, Mongolia and a sensitive area as well. In Singapore, our partners will take over the main shipping district every night from December 16-25, handing out the Manga Manger Book of Hope, encouraging people to download the Manga Manger app for the iPhone, presenting music, dramas and more.

Please pray for a good response to God’s Word this Christmastime. Thank you!

This Christmas, you’re giving the gift of life to Asian children!

Your Christmas outreaches happening around the world!Manga Manger already making an impact!

The Manga Manger special-edition Book of Hope is already touching young lives in Singapore.

A new believer named Weilin shared the book with a Chinese girl she met on a college campus.

Over the next few weeks, they got together several times to talk about the

story of Jesus and His love ...

... and then came the day she chose to follow Jesus!

“I never thought I could lead anyone to Christ because I wasn’t a spiritual leader or a very mature believer,” Weilin says. “But God didn’t care about that. He used me, and I feel honored.”

You’re reaching 367,000 children in North America this Christmas!

Together with our partners at Angel Tree, you’re helping present God’s Word to 367,000 special children and youth this Christmas —

These are the sons and daughters of parents who are incarcerated. Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree ministry helps to deliver Christmas gifts to them, and this year their gifts will include the Family Freedom special-edition Book of Hope! This book is designed specifically for children with one or more parent in jail. We’ll also be giving away some 50,000 copies of the Caregiver’s Edition Book of Hope for the parent, family member or caregiver who is providing for the child of the inmate.

Thanks for reaching out with God’s love to these children in need.

Angel Tree means Christmas gifts — and God’s Word! — for the children of incarcerated parents.

The children and youth of Italy are steeped in religion — it has even been a traditional part of public education: the “hour of religion” each day.

But our Spiritual State of the World’s Children research showed this familiarity with the traditional faith of the nation has somehow become divorced from everyday life, and students have not discovered God’s power to help them with the issues they’re facing.

La Mia Storia (My Story) is a special-edition Book of Hope that focuses on the dynamics of a living relationship with Jesus Christ, rather than man’s creation of religion.

The response has been amazing! In one region, the schools handed over the “hour of religion” to local churches for an entire week so they could share La Mia Storia and connect young people with Jesus and with local evangelical churches.

As I meet with church leaders around the globe — I see many believers who are being powerfully used by God to impact the next generation ... but now and then I get the sinking feeling that the Church’s relevance is undermined by our faithful proclamation that Jesus is the answer before we know what the question is.

Young people from all across the world are asking questions like: how can you claim to know ultimate truth when every other religion claims the same thing? How can there be a good God when there

is so much suffering in the world? How can anyone know what the future holds?

I thank God that OneHope partners like you, and the ministry team here, understand that in order to speak with authority to this generation, we must begin by understanding them and coming alongside them in relationship.

This is why we ask questions, and listen to the questions the young people are asking. Thank you for being part of it. Enjoy these updates on what you’re accomplishing.

Why we ask so many questions ... By OneHope President Rob Hoskins

A 14-year-old orphan was being raised by her grandparents — but she felt alone, unloved, and hopeless.

At her young age, she had already attempted suicide more than once.

She received La Mia Storia — the special-edition “My

Story” Book of Hope for Italian youth — at school, but she didn’t pay much attention to it ...

... until 2 o’clock the next morning, when the depression had once again gripped her heart, whispering to her that she would be better off dead. She was trying to devise some sure-fire way to end it all.

Then she remembered her Book of Hope. She began to read the Gospel story, and the extra sections designed to speak to the heart-felt needs of Italy’s next generation. She could feel the Lord touching her heart as she read the book!

She immediately emailed the team and asked if someone could return to school the next day and tell her more about Jesus Christ. Of course, we were only too happy to do so!

Today, this young woman is walking with Jesus, and has a whole new outlook for the future.

A 14-year-old Italian girl was saved from suicide.

Your Christmas outreaches happening around the world!Juvenile offenders in the United States are in desperate need of God’s touch. Our original pilot program of Decide/Inside in Broward County, Florida showed that most of the incarcerated boys said they came from “normal families,” but this meant that they didn’t know their fathers, or their fathers were not a part of their lives ...

For at-risk children and youth, fatherlessness is the “new normal.”

Into this bleak landscape, Decide/Inside introduces the concept of a loving heavenly Father who will never leave them. The program includes a special-edition Book of Hope plus video DVD lessons to be used week-by-week.

Decide/Inside is available for local churches that want to reach out to juvenile offenders in their area. You can find out more at www.onehope.net/mybackyard.

Decide/Inside , United States

When he looks into the small metal plate that acts as his jail cell mirror, Kevin sees the image of his father. Not just the dark brown eyes and his dad’s prominent nose, but his future as well. A future marred by violence, drugs, greed, broken relationships, and a life behind bars. Just 18 years old, and already facing five years, Kevin was well on his way to following in his father’s footsteps. Certain of his destiny, Kevin saw no value in his father’s life ... or his own.

Sheer boredom caused him to wander into the Decide/Inside class at the Florida facility that he called home ... along with 65 other incarcerated young men. Kevin sat among the 20 or so students

and listened to the story of Joseph. He thought it would help pass the time. He had no idea it would change his life.

Kevin read through the entire Decide/Inside special edition Book of Hope the first night, and continues to attend the weekly meetings. He has slowly begun to ask questions and join in discussions. The class size continues to grow as more troubled young people like Kevin begin to discover their value in Christ. Through your wonderful compassion and support, Decide/Inside is being administered in more and more prisons, detention centers, and residential homes across the United States every month.

It was time for Kevin to realize his identity in Christ — Decide/Inside is helping to reshape his destiny!

Your Christmas outreaches happening around the world!

New dub for The GodMan — GourmanchémaThanks to the generosity of Pastor Chris Hodges and Church of the Highlands in Birmingham for partnering with us and funding the new language dub of The GodMan film for the Gourmanchéma people of Africa!

We’re currently using the film in one sensitive area with strong Islamic factions, and by God’s grace, around 30,000 people

have seen it and of those, about 6,000 people have made a profession for Christ — the vast majority under age 20. This is a great response!

Additionally, there are 53 churches working together to reach the next generation with the Good News through these film presentations.

The children of Africa receive the Good News in The GodMan film.

When we asked the young people, educators, and Christian leaders of South Africa about the most important issues facing the next generation, “family” was one immediate answer.

• 59%ofyoungpeoplereportedtheysometimesor frequently wonder if their mothers love them.

• 59%saidtheynever,oralmostnever,talktotheir fathers about personal concerns.

The Our Family program was designed to engage children, youth, and their family members or care-givers with each other, and with God’s Word.

The response has been so good in South Africa, the program is being prepared for other African nations with similar issues: Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and others.

The ends of the earth! That’s where Jesus promised to go with us — and where you’re sending God’s Word for the next generation.

Bob and I just returned from Easter Island where we were part of distributions of the Book of Hope, reaching 80 children and youth. What an amazing effort, there in the shadow of the Moai (the 900 stone heads) which many islanders believe contain spirits, and where syncretism is a powerful force in religion.

The Gospel was received with joy, and we were told that next year the island is planning a cultural event to celebrate the Book of Hope.

Truly God’s love is for every child, and

our vision of reaching every child on earth, is being fulfilled, as friends like you continue to stand alongside us in

prayers and giving. Thank you for your faithfulness!

You went with us! By Hazel Hoskins
