• Jazz I Concert: November 13th's concert will feature the Snow College Jazz Ensemble 1 performing Duke Ellington's Far East Suite. This nine piece suite is one of Ellington's more obscure and exotic works, in which he (along with his writing companion, Billy Strayhorn) captures the sights and sounds of the middle and far east and filters them through the lens of the blues. Please join us in this celebration of one of the most moving and complex works ever written by America's premier composer.
General Admission: Adults -‐ $8 | Seniors & youth $5
• The Foreigner: November 14-‐17, 2012 (Comedy) By Larry Shrue, Directed by Brad V. Olsen The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by "Froggy" LeSeuer, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time "Froggy" has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So "Froggy," before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should—the evil plans of a sinister, two-‐faced minister and his redneck associate; the fact that the minister's pretty fiancée is pregnant; and many other damaging revelations made with the thought that Charlie doesn't understand a word being said. That he does fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the "bad guys," and the "good guys" emerge triumphant.
Adults -‐ $7.50 | Seniors (62+) & Youth (5-‐18) -‐ $6.50 | SC Students $2.00 w/AC
• Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band: The Wind Symphony will play classic band standards. Directed by David Blackinton, retired BYU Symphonic Band Director.
General Admission: Adults -‐ $8 | Seniors & youth $5 • Forgotten Carols: Michael McLeans’s touching Christmas tale has become a timeless classic. It tells the story
of a nurse whose empty life is changed by her patient, John, who expands her understanding of Christmas. ‘The Forgotten Carols’ are original songs from the perspective of characters such as the innkeeper who turned the young couple away or the shepherd who slept through the angel’s announcement. Their personal accounts, until now, have been overlooked or ignored. Together, John and Constance discover what the world has forgotten about Christmas. November 29,30, & December 1, 2012, 8:00 pm, Eccles Center Theatre.
