Forged in one of the great crossroads of history, Silat represents thousands of different methods of self-defense and self-development evolved through the need to survive in a hostile environment. Renowned for it’s graceful effectiveness and practicality, Silat provides realistic training for weapons rich environments and against multiple attackers. At Silatturahim 2013, three Chicago area Silat teachers offering 3 different Silat methods famous for their effectiveness, will share insights into this practical martial art that is still relatively unknown in the West.
