After Conference: “My Fear is Gone,” an Egyptian Pastor Shares

Egypt National Pastors’ Conference - The timing was perfect in holding the Egyptian Pastors’ Conference in Alexandria last month. After the end of the Morsi regime four years ago, we ventured to come, yet there were many roadblocks that prevented us. This year the Lord allowed us to take the step forward last month to minister in Egypt in several areas, center focus of which was to the hearts of 30 Egyptian pastors through our conference with the theme taken from Psalm 23, “He Restores My Soul.”

The statements coming from the pastors since our conference are clearly an encouragement. Words such as “The conference was effective…my fear is gone…encouraging…truly a blessing…healing…these meetings helped me refocus my confidence upon the Lord.” We as a team had the privilege of bringing a word of encouragement to them as each taught. The teaching time was conducted by Rev. Tim Dane, Pastor, Colorado Springs; Dr. Dan Iles, IM staff, California; Rev. Magdi Benjamin, Egypt, and myself.

The topics covered were "the Chief Shepherd, dealing with despair, encouraging promises to the people of God, the voice of the cave verses the voice of Christ, and the man who God will make stand.”

I want to say a special thank you to those who prayed and gave over and above to help make this conference such a success. It is from this conference we are moving ahead into stronger position of ministry in church planting (see below), discipleship and child sponsorships (see page 3). Please continue to pray with us as we endeavor to be effective in reaching people for Christ in this great land. - Dr. John Cook, CEO

Your prayer covering and financial support partnership made an open door for the Lord to minister his Word to these men of God. Thank you.

IM Church Planting in the Middle EastThe Global Church Planting Initiative is how we assist nationals plant churches under IM with local guidance and mentorship for 3-5 years, until the churches are strong. Meet the four pastors we are working with and their support needs:

Egypt - 1. Church planter support @ $500/month; Pastor I. is currently leading Bible studies and preaches weekly, he’s also leading Indigenous Ministries’ new child sponsorship ministry in Egypt.2. Church planter support @ $450/month; Pastor M. has already started a church and preaches every night. One of our other church planters is sharing his salary with him until Pastors M.’s salary is raised. $50 of his support is raised.

Iraq - 3. Church planter support @ $500/month; Pastor S. in northern Iraq has already started a church which is heavily engaged in ministering to displaced refugees with aid and evangelism. 4. Church planter in Baghdad - $500/month; Pastor M. is pastoring a church and reaching out to Sunni Muslims.

Use the form on page 4 to engage with praying for them and supporting them.

5K Run to the Rescue in Ohio

Ordination of Iraqi Pastor

Cedarville, OH - I’m excited for this special event on November 14 to raise awareness and funds to rescue girls who have been kidnapped by ISIS in the Middle East.

Our group of volunteers in Cedarville, led by Jewel Harkleroad, are ready for this first 5K Run event, and I’m very grateful for all their hard work to organize the details there. As we went to press, 127 were registered for the event.

Join us at 9 am at the Community Park for the 5K Run/Walk, and then the next day at Grace Baptist Church where John and I will be sharing with several groups about our recent Middle East ministry we returned from on November 2. We are both excited to share firsthand reports of this rescue effort, but also our ministry’s ongoing relief efforts in Iraq and future plans for a women’s center and church planting

Our goal is not only to rescue these girls from physical harm, but to show them the love of Jesus Christ through our local teams there who have seen many trust in Christ. We are looking into long term solutions to help these girls and women in need with safe housing, discipleship and job training. - Dee Cook, Director, Beautiful International Women’s Ministry

Northern Iraq - What a privilege it was for me to be on the ordination council and participate in the ordination ceremony of Rev. S. in Iraq last month (left). He is a church planter and pastor of the first ever Baptist Church in Kurdistan. We are privileged to be ministry partners with he and his wife in church planting and ministering to refugees and children.

Pastor S. is one of our four Middle East church planters outlined on page 2. Engage with us in helping these four men with prayer and financial support. They need us in these challenging days. - Dr. John Cook

Healthy Birth of New Egypt Child Sponsorship Program

Egypt - After months of preparation here in the US office, translation of documents and forms into Arabic in Jordan and several meetings in Egypt, new child sponsorship program was successfully launched last month!

Resty and Mel Enguerra Update

November 2015 Page 4 __________________________________________________________________________________________

The Philippines - Mel’s father rested in the Father's arms on Oct. 3, 2015, at 92. Dad, Demosthenes B. Felarca was a WWII veteran and loved his country. Most importantly he loved his Lord Jesus Christ.

As our ministry among the Payatas community continues, the demand for primary and secondary education is very high. Local resources have been unable to provide rooms with the increase of students (80 students/classroom in Payatas public school system).

A project proposal to complete a new building and add more classrooms to accommodate additional students is underway (see picture). In keeping the tuition fees affordable, it’ll encourage scavenger parents to choose to send their children for quality education in a private setting.

We believe that a superior basic education for the children is one of the most important ways to alleviate poverty and help families improve their lives. The desire to accommodate more scavenger children in this facility is hindered by financial shortage.

Completion of the building project will help us continue our mission and vision. We aspire to finish the building before the start of the 2016-17 school year, enabling the school to increase enrollment next year. Please contact Resty at [email protected] for details and more information on this ministry. Their complete newsletter is on IM’s website. If you would like to be part of this project, designate your gift “IM Southeast Asia.”

We are blessed to be your ministry partners and thank the Lord to be able to continue with you. Our personal support account is in the negative by $1000 per month. Would you please keep this need in your prayers and if the Lord leads, engage with us regularly? Thank you so much. - John and Dee Cook
