Following the completion of Phase one and the handover of the new Derby and
Rathbone Halls in September, Phase two of the project commenced with the
demolition of the old Gladstone and Roscoe Halls, and the continuing refurbishment
of the existing Derby Old Court and Greenbank House.
The phase two new build commenced with the removal of asbestos containing
materials from the old residences prior to the demolition of the buildings
themselves. In November, work commenced on the piled foundations and will be
followed by the commencement of the main concrete frame of the building This will
take approximately 40 weeks.
The refurbishment of the final section of Derby Old Court has also begun. This
includes the strip out of internal fixtures and fittings which will be replaced by a new
internal layout with modern interior it out and new roof coverings. New traditional
style windows and doors to will compliment the original 1930’s building. These
works will match those that have already been completed as part of Phase one of
the Derby Old Court project.
The renovation of the Grade II* listed building, Greenbank House, will continue
throughout Phase two of the project as we work with conservationists to bring the
house back to its former glory.
