Veterans Marathon – Honoring Our Heroes Marathon will be held on Saturday,
November 16, starting at Dent County Commons, Salem and ending at Lions
Club, Rolla. All proceeds benefit local Veterans. You can sign up for the
marathon at www.heroesmarathon.com.
The Dent County Service Unit of The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign will begin on Wednesday, November 27, and run every Friday and Saturday through December 24th. The familiar red kettles are located at Dollar General, Country Mart
and Walmart, along with counter kettles located at several businesses throughout Salem. If you would like to volunteer to ring the bell at a kettle, please call Susie Mackey at 729-6771. Volunteers are needed to help raise the $35,000 needed to assist local
families with emergency financial assistance throughout the year.
The Salvation Army will once again partner with Walmart to host the Angel Tree Campaign. The tree will be available starting December 4th and continue until December 18th. The Christmas Parade of Lights will be held Saturday, December 7, downtown Salem, 729-6900.
