Dear Friends, We hope you are all getting ready for Thanksgiving! We are thanking the Lord so much for some great opportunities He gave us lately and the ones on the horizon! Teaching Story-Telling in Guatemala Jonathan and I had a fantastic adventure ministering in Guatemala together. Jonathan heard Sheryl and me tell many different Bible stories using the Simply the Story (STS) method, so he came with me to Guatemala to take the training course which I had the privilege of leading. Here are a few words from him about the trip: “Guatemala is a beautiful country, and I’m glad I was able to go there and learn a new method to share the gospel. I also really enjoyed fellowshipping with the people there.” – Jonny We had a team of story-telling teachers from Mexico, Ireland, the United States, the Philippines, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Thankfully, all of us spoke Spanish! The training took place over a ten-day period. It was exciting to see Jonathan and the other students quickly pick up story-telling techniques and learn how to ask questions to stimulate conversation about a Bible story. It was also exciting to see the newer instructors teach the story-telling lessons with confidence. Most of our time was filled with training, preparing, and reviewing. One evening, though, I had the opportunity to share a story as part of a church service. I told the story of the Resurrection of Christ found in Matthew 28. The congregation came alive as we discussed the part in the story when an angel from God, whose face was as bright as lightning, moved the stone which was in front of the tomb and then sat on it. I got to share that same story of Christ’s resurrection many times in Guatemala, as several opportunities presented themselves with different people we met on the street, in taxis, and in stores. It was a fruitful and enjoyable trip to take with my son, Jonathan. Thanks to all who prayed for us and who gave to make the trip possible. Please, keep Jonathan in your prayers. He and I will be traveling and ministering together until July 2020 when he goes off to Bible College. Mexicans Preparing to Serve as Missionaries!! Last week, Sheryl, Jonathan, and I had the wonderful opportunity of teaching the STS method to the Mexican missionaries who are being trained at the WEC missionary training school close to Cuernavaca. It was exciting to hear their testimonies at the end of the four-day training. One young lady said, “I’ve always wanted to share the Lord with people I meet on the street or on the bus, but I never knew how to do that before. Now I do.” Another student said that when she shared a five-minute story with someone who was working in a store, the person was so interested that she wants her to go back and teach her more. We feel STS will be a very useful tool for them as they go to share Christ in other countries. A New Friend in Training Last month we also had the opportunity to do some Simply the Story training with a young missionary who feels led to work in India. She stayed in Cuernavaca for a week and got to practice telling Bible stories in the rehabilitation centers we go to, as well as in a school and in a park. We believe that God is going to use her to reach many people for Christ in the future! In January, February, and March of next year, we will be traveling a lot to help with STS training courses. Please, keep these trips in your prayers. In January, Andrew will be in Lima, Peru, training people from several churches. Also Andrew, Sheryl, and Jonny will be in Michoacan, Mexico, training missionaries who work with the Purepecha people, an indigenous group who lives in that state. In February, Andrew and Jonny will be training people, including some of our WIM missionaries, in Chiapas, Mexico. Also, Andrew, Sheryl, and Jonny will be training pastors at a Bible school in Sonora, Mexico. In March, Andrew and Jonny will be training students at a Bible college in Cajamarca, Peru.

People in Need Whenever we are not ministering outside of Cuernavaca, we continue to share the Lord each week in three different rehabilitation centers here. It is a very exciting part of our work here because we continually see people who are from very difficult pasts understanding the good news of Jesus Christ for the first time. Many of them put their faith in the Lord while they are in these centers, and our desire is that these new believers become strong disciples of Christ. Please, pray that God will give us wisdom as we teach them and then help them get involved in churches that will continue to teach and care for them.

Thank you so much for your loving prayers and support as we minister here in Mexico. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you have been such a blessing to us.
