Luke 23: 35-43 On this last Sunday of the liturgical year we celebrate Christ’s kingship. The notion of “king” can conjure up images of power, wealth and self-serving rule. But here we have a King who has no power and wealth; his throne is a cross and his rule is suffering and death. Would we be like the thief crucified with Jesus who wishes Jesus to abuse his power to save himself and them? Or would we be like the thief who recognizes his own sinfulness and Jesus’ goodness? Jesus demonstrates his kingship not by saving himself but by saving others. The reign of God is not in power but in mercy. The cross is where we least expect a king to be. Yet this is how God’s kingdom is established and where our discipleship begins. Jesus demonstrates his kingship not by power but by loving reassurance that Paradise awaits faithful disciples.

On behalf of the Friends of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Pius X, we wish to extend our sincerest thank you to our parish family for once again your boundless
charity and contributions. Through your continued support, our food pantry has been able to provide over 8000 meals this year to needy neighbors and friends. This Thanksgiving and Christmas season, families will be able to share a proper holiday meal thanks to your good will. Over 2000 years ago, Our Lord gave us the most perfect prayer, and in it this phrase; “and give us this day our daily bread.” Some among us have challenges, unique and different every one, that makes it difficult to put food on the table, We know from Our Lord’s teaching in Mathew 25:40; “and the King will answer them, truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”
Better than any thanks we could say, may our God bless you and your families this holiday season.

We are a group that works to help those in need to include working on the spaghetti supper to help the orphanage in Haiti, the giving tree for those in need during Christmas, nursing home visits to parishioners who reside there and different things throughout the year as needed. We hold one meeting a month usually a Tuesday or Wednesday until June. We welcome all those interested in joining. Please call Linda Gagne at 603-674-0215 with any questions or interest in participating in this wonderful, fulfilling Ministry.
On behalf of Father de Laire, Deacon Jim and the entire Parish Staff, we wish you a very happy and blessed
Thanksgiving!
A Prayer of Thanksgiving
Lord God, on this day of Thanksgiving, we ask your blessing on our family, our friends, our home, our health -- and on the food we are about to eat. We thank you for this time together and the many gifts that you have given us. Help us to remember in this time of bounty those less fortunate. And may your love consume us all that we might share in your glory. Amen.

Manchester Community Theatre Players (MCTP), in cooperation with St. Catherine’s Church, will present Amahl and the Night Visitors on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM at St. Catherine’s Church School, 207 Hemlock St. Manchester, NH. Amahl and the Night Visitors is directed by Trystan Stoffel with Music Direction by Andy Catan-ese. Choreographer Margaret Windler and Artistic Director Alan D. Kaplan round out MCTP’s production crew. Amahl and the Night Visitors is a unique opportuni-ty to revisit a classic Christmas Story as presented on NBC’s Hallmark Hall of Fame (1951 - 1963). It is an opera in one act (55 minutes) by Gian Carlo Menotti sung in English. The “Night Visitors” are the three Wise Men following the Christmas star toward Bethlehem. They stop to rest for the night encountering Amahl, an impoverished and crippled shepherd boy who lives with his widowed mother. Villagers bring food and dance for the Kings. Sleep is interrupted by an attempted theft, but a miracle provides a joyous resolution. Tickets are available at St. Catherine’s School (603-622-1711) or on-line at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4438182.
