Heavenly Father, Teach us that, if we can’t do great things, we can at least do small things in a great way. May we always be sincere in our efforts to help others in need. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen

UPCOMING EVENTS
MEMBERSHIP FOCUSMEMBERSHIP FOCUSSPEAKERSPEAKER
Let's now devote our membership focus to the DECEMBER 10TH FINE ARTS CONCERT AT 7:30 P.M. at St. Paul's by the Sea Episcopal church. John Bates is heading this up, and will be in touch on how you can help. Please save the date! If any of you know of a prize you could get donated to the club, please go ahead and try to do so. I'm going to try to assemble several prizes worthy of a raffle. A good prize would be a gift certificate to a restaurant, a voucher to stay at a hotel/resort or other travel, or new electronic devices. Our next social is probably going to be in February. As I mentioned before, we have an opportunity to turn our social into a fundraiser. Urban Flats will allow us to sell tickets anywhere from $10 - $25 per person to attend a social at their restaurant, and all we have to pay them is $5 per person for the people who actually show up. We would have to pick a Tues or Thursday evening from 5:30 - 7:30. They will provide red and white wine and appetizers (if you want anything else, I believe you have to pay for it). I would hope that we could pick a date in Feb, and sell at least 100 tickets at $20 each. If only 50 people show up, our cost is $250, and we'll clear $1750!!! That's as good as a rose sale with a lot less work. Please respond to me with suggested Tues or Thurs dates for Feb and how many tickets you would hope to sell. I'm not going to do this unless we all hope to sell at least 100 tickets. I believe they will print up tickets for us, so if we act fast we could probably begin selling them by Dec. 1st, which would give us over 2 full months to sell them. Remember, people don't have to come if they just want to make a donation to Kiwanis. Neil Powell Membership Chair
The Hats & Hugs Program is part of a statewide Kiwanis effort to offer comfort to children during traumatic events by providing them with a stuffed animal. The Kiwanis Beaches Club continues to take part in this program which benefits those children needing comfort at a time when everything is in crises mode. Last Thursday, John Bates and Doris Barnes delivered stuffed animals to the Jacksonville Beach Fire Department and to the Ponte Vedra Fire Department.
