All therapy dogs and their handlers are certified by Therapy Dogs International or the Delta Society Pet Partners programs. During the reading session, the dog’s handler is always present along with a library staff member.

Cranberry Smoothie
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Blend almond milk, banana, mixed berries, and cranberries in a blender until smooth; refrigerate until
chilled, at least 1 hour.
Serve Cold and Enjoy!
Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, mix together the crushed gingersnap
cookies, pecans, and butter. Press into the bottom, and about 1 inch up the sides of a 9-inch spring-form
pan. Bake crust 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Set aside to cool..
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and vanilla just until smooth. Mix in
eggs one at a time, blending well after each. Set aside 1 cup of the mixture. Blend 1/4 cup sugar,
pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the remaining mixture.
3. Spread the pumpkin flavored batter into the crust, and drop the plain batter by the spoonful onto the
top. Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
4. Bake 55 minutes in the preheated oven, or until filling is set. Run a knife around the edge of the pan.
Allow to cool before removing rim. Chill at least 4 hours before serving.
Serve and Enjoy!

1 banana 1/2 cup fresh cranberries

Apple Pie
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Mix together the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon peel.
3. Line one crust in a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan. Layer 1/3 of apples into pie crust. Sprinkle with sugar
mixture and repeat until done. Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.
4. Place second pie crust on top of filling and flute the edges. Cut vents in top crust and brush with milk for
a glazed appearance if desired.
5. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 40 to 50 minutes.
Let Cool, Serve and Enjoy!

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Mix cream of mushroom soup, water, turkey, wild rice, milk and onion together in a 2-quart casserole
dish. Cover dish with aluminum foil.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes. Remove foil and cook until rice is tender and liquid is
absorbed, 10 to 15 minutes more.
Serve and Enjoy!

2 1/4 cups boiling water 1/3 cup milk

Whipped Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat until the milk begins to steam. Whisk in the sugar, cocoa
powder, vanilla extract, and salt until dissolved. Stir in the chocolate until melted. Remove saucepan
from heat, and allow to cool slightly.
2. Beat the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the
whipped cream into the hot chocolate.
Serve Hot and Enjoy!

1/3 cup white sugar 1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 (1 ounce) squares semisweet baking
chocolate, broken into pieces

1. In a bowl, mix the turkey meat, celery, jalapeno, relish, and mayonnaise. Season with cilantro, salt,

2. Place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
