Elizabeth Arden Celebrates 100 Years of Beauty!!!
Elizabeth Arden, born in 1878 in Canada, opened her first salon on Fifth Avenue in New York in 1910. She was an
icon that empowered woman with her red lipstick in the suffrage movement and also once created a lipstick colour
to coordinate with the uniforms of the women serving in the armed forces during World War II. She was the first
beauty house to send out teams of travelling saleswomen and the first to offer products in travel sizes. By the early
‘30s she had salons all around the world.
All the top George clients celebrated 100 years of beauty @ Tramonto with a fabulous High Tea which would’ve
made even the Queen proud! Champagne and scarf’s, hats and gloves, teacakes and laughter, beauty and fun was at
the order of the day and we were proud to be hosts to such a wonderful event!
Tramonto, Curves and Cansa
I’m sure that by now everyone is aware that October month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Ladies Gym, Curves, hosted a “Girls Night In” to further promote awareness amongst women. The auction event
aimed to raise money for Breast Cansa research. The night was a great success! Local businesses pulled together to
sponsor their services/vouchers/goodie bags and other prized to be auctioned. Tramonto is thrilled to be able to
assist in helping raise money for such a great cause.

BRENTON ON LAKE - THE WOODS, KNYSNA ZAR 1,295,000,
By virtue of its position on the western slope of the Knysna Heads peninsula, The Woods at Brenton-on-lake would
not easily part with its rural exclusivity. Due to the nature of the peninsula, development is limited and the urban-
styled country setting is guaranteed. The eastern side of the land neck is graced by the beautiful Knysna Lagoon
while its western shore is washed by the Indian Ocean.
Locals consider the area a wildlife sanctuary and their dedicated conservation principle is evident in the numbers of
wild antelope that roam free amongst the leafy gardens. The birdlife is equally prolific and many species would allow
your quiet approach to within almost touching distance.

Lindelize is a rosé made form pinot noir and is Philip Jonker’s latest addition to his range of inspiring
Cap Classiques. Named after Philip’s wife, “Lindelize” celebrates the first ‘butterflies’ one feels when falling in love.
An excellent bubbly… perfect for wedding toasts, welcome drinks, sunsets, celebrations and just because! Served
with fresh strawberries and cream or Turkish delight …. The perfect pair! www.weltevrede.com/
When it comes to the modern wedding there are so many new ideals, trends & ideas. Everyone always wants
“something different”.
As for me? I’d like to go back to the basics. Tradition installs a sense of purpose and has always been inspiring and
has somewhat of a mysterious charm, yet still opens so many doors of possibility….
I’m not saying that you should go all out and take silly superstitions to hart but certainly give old customs a chance.
Traditions I love:
• Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed & Something Blue…
• Traditional Fruitcake! Spice it up with marshmallows, liqueurs or chocolate chips … and voila, served with
homemade crème anglaise you have yourself a decadent hearty dessert!
• Paper confetti.
• Rehearsal dinners. The wedding day is short enough, with months of planning gone in to it, I will grab any
chance to stretch it out a bit.
• Hand written thank you cards, a personal touch goes a long way.
• Sugared almonds and handmade treats, need I say more?
Call me old fashioned as it may be… but inspiration is everywhere…. Take these oldies and make them your own! We
look forward to seeing what you’ve come up with!

Whoever said that you can’t braai at your wedding and still keep it stylish? Say hello to the glorified braai! The best
way to ensure a welcoming celebration is to keep your guests entertained. Think of the last time you had a blast with
friends... 80% of the time it was probably around a fire! Here are a few menu notes to elegantly get the flames in the
air – canapé style!!
Mini roosterkoek with farm butter & korrel konfyt
Bite size Ostrich fillet steak canapé spoons with red wine drizzle
Small chicken kebabs with peanut dressing
Flame grilled vegetables with chilli & coriander salsa
Marshmallows with chocolate dipping sauce
Tip: Ask your venue to set up a “braai” corner with outdoor lounges where guests can be entertained during your
photo session.
Jaco & Nicolette: 25 September 2010
was skaars by die hek in toe Jaco al vir my noem hy dink ons moet hier trou.
