Manager’s Corner

GENERAL MANAGER ’S REPORT - OCTOBER, 2014

Hello Trilogy! As we enter the holiday season I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all eat until your heart’s content and take time to be thankful for all the wonderful gifts you have in your life. With Thanksgiving around the corner it also means the fall season is soon to arrive which brings me to the topic of this month’s article, Avocado trees. Every year there seems to be more and more comments regarding the trees and I think it’s time we peel back the Avocado and answer some of the commonly asked questions about the trees.

Why did Shea Homes plant Avocado trees? This question has been asked many times and there are lots of speculations. Of all the possible reasons for planting Avocado trees, two (2) really stand out; however, only Shea knows the truth.

1. Avocado trees grow well on slopes and because of their aggressive root systems they help stabilize the slope and slope erosion.

In addition, before Trilogy at Glen Ivy was developed, the land was primarily citrus orchards and Shea could have been trying to preserve some of the Valley’s history.

2. It is thought that Shea installed the Avocado trees as an additional revenue source for the Master Association. This additional revenue source was believed to help significantly reduce the HOA monthly assessments. Unfortunately that has not been the case; however, what it has done is help offset some of the maintenance cost which in turn does keep your monthly dues lower than if there were non revenue producing landscape on the slopes.

How many Avocado groves and trees does the Association own and maintain? There are approximately 4,000 Hass and Fuerte Avocado trees planted on 40 acres throughout Trilogy with the largest grove located in Modjeska Canyon.

Modjeska Canyon – 15 acres Cobblestone Canyon – 4 acres Saddleback Canyon – 9 acres Corral Canyon – 2 acres Coldwater Canyon – 8 acres Nobel Canyon – 2acres

How much revenue has been generated from the sale of Avocados? The harvest of the Avocado trees begins the 2nd week of April each year. This is because there is traditionally an increase in price due to high demand before the May 5th holiday when avocados are consumed the most.

The Association records the revenue each fiscal year which begins April 1st each year and ends March 31st the following year: Fiscal year ending 2011 – 30,650 lbs = $10,327 Fiscal year ending 2014 - 22,194 lbs = $5,176 Fiscal year ending 2012 – 25,828 lbs = $26,407 Fiscal year ending 2015 - 33,847 lbs = $21,500 Fiscal year ending 2013 – 61,250 lbs = $29,194

There are many factors that influence the revenue the Association receives from the Avocado harvest. These factors include theft, crop quantity, quality and size, market demand and price. In addition, the growth cycle of an Avocado tree normally produces more fruit one year and then larger fruit the next.

Will the Association top the height of the Avocado tree so they do not block my view? The overall health of the Avocado trees is the Associations highest priority and topping trees is not a preferred practice. Topping trees incorrectly can have some very negative effects, such as: A) stressing the tree making it more vulnerable to insects and disease infestations, B) can cause decay leading to bark splitting and death to branches and C) makes the tree look ugly which in turn makes the community look ugly. In addition, the Association does not guarantee views per the TGMA CC&R’s Section 10.1.8 and will not trim or top a tree for this reason.

What is the irrigation schedule for the Avocado trees? The irrigation schedule is based on the temperature and rainfall. For example: if there is no rainfall in January, February, and March the groves get irrigated once a week for 3 hours depending on the temperatures. In April, May and June the groves are irrigated twice a week for 3 hours also depending on the temperature. In July, August, and September irrigation takes place twice a week for 4 to 6 hours and in October, November, and December (again based on rainfall) the irrigation returns to once a week for 3 hours.

Manager’s Corner GENERAL MANAGER ’S REPORT - OCTOBER, 2014—CONTINUED

Why do the trees drop so many leaves and what can I do to keep the leaves from blowing into my yard? Avocado trees do drop a lot of leaves, but there is a reason. According to the University of California Cooperative Extension Agriculture and Resource Department, the Avocado tree is shallow-rooted and depends on the natural leaf mulch to protect its roots. In fact, the roots will actually colonize the rotted leaves as if it were soil. This leaf mulch is the first line of defense against root rot. The decomposing leaves create a hostile environment to the microorganism that causes the disease. In addition, the leaves also help to reduce evaporative loss of water and therefore helps reduce water needs. However, Para Landscaping does work hard at keeping the slope and V-ditches as clean as possible. The V-ditches and groves are on a 30 day cycle and the monthly schedule is posted on the Trilogy at Glen Ivy Webpage under the My HOA, Committee / Programs, Landscape, and Para Maintenance Schedule Tabs. Please note: extreme temperatures and high winds will cause the trees to lose more leaves and it may take Para an extra week or two to catch up. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. RECENTLY COMPLETED PROJECTS:

• Tree Trimming – Tree trimming for the month of October consisted of all the trees around the Facility Buildings except the Pine trees. The trimming crews will begin work on all Pine trees throughout the community in November. Please note: the trees are trimmed to promote health and growth and because certain species are trimmed at different times of the year or every other year, not every tree may be trimmed in your canyon. In addition, the Association does not guarantee views and will not trim or top a tree for this reason.

• Trilogy Parkway Median Project – Valley Crest has completed the turf removal project in the medians on Trilogy Parkway. The project will eliminate the current water runoff coming from the medians and generate significant water savings. In addition, 95% of the project is being paid for from a rebate program offered by the Metropolitan Water District.

• Slurry Seal Project – The community wide street slurry seal project was completed on October 9, 2014. The project went extremely well and we thank all residents for their patience and cooperation during this huge project. Please note: any black stains that may be on your driveway or sidewalks will eventually fade away. In addition, tire marks on the new slurry are normal and will also fade in time.

• Speed Bumps – At the October 7, 2014, Board meeting the Board approved to install an additional speed cushion to the lower section of Cuyamaca. The cushions and stripping have all been installed by Nelson Paving Company and were done in accordance to the specifications provided by Boulevard Engineering Studios.

• Security Cameras - Two surveillance cameras located at the Blue Water Sports Club were replaced by Firstline Security Systems because they became inoperable.

PROJECTS IN PROGRESS: • Lake 16 – After a number of talks and meetings with the the golf course management regarding Lake 16, the HOA was informed

that the courts and receiver will be able to contribute $65,000 towards the lake repairs. Management is re-evaluating the two vendors that are being considered for the project. Management is also investigating what would be the best position for the Association moving forward. Does the Association assist in the cost of the repair or do we look at other legal options? Management is anticipating that all options available to the Association in regards to the repairs to Lake 16 will be presented to the Board at the December Board meeting.

• Community Webpage – Exolet and the Communications committee have begun creating the new webpage. The product is coming along nicely and the webpage will soon be ready for some beta testing.

• AC Units For Blue Water Sports Club – At the August 5, 2014, General Session meeting the Board approved the purchase and installation of five (5) new high efficiency air conditioning units for the Blue Water Sports Club. The Association will be receiving $19,600 in rebates from Southern California Edison for changing to high efficiency units. It was reported that the installation would take place in October; however the vendor is waiting on a few more parts and the installation has been pushed to November. The Blue Water Sports Club will have to be closed down for two (2) days. Please keep your eyes out for notices to the membership.

• Lake Center Restroom Countertops – At the October 7, 2014 Board meeting the Board approved to contract with Paul Davis Company to replace the damaged laminate counter tops with granite at the Lake Center Women’s and Men’s restrooms.

• Reserve Study Consultant - At the October 7, 2014 Board meeting the Board approved to contract with SCT Reserves to perform a Level Three (3) Reserve Study for the TGMA Master Association, the Cobblestone Special Benefit Area and the Cobblestone Elevator Special Benefit Area.

CODE COMPLIANCE

Joy Marino Code Compliance Manager

MonthlyStreetSweeping:Wednesday,November5thThe 1st Wednesday of every month between 8:00am and 12:00pm all vehicles need to be off the streets to

effectively clean the streets.

ProtectYourHomeProtecting your home can be as easy as making it look occupied while you are gone.

Here are some simple measures you can take that can pay off:

• Do not stop all deliveries. Have someone you trust pick up mail and newspapers every day.

• Leave a radio on. It signals to a burglar that someone's home. Also, turn the volume

adjustment on your telephone bell down so a prowler will be less likely to hear the ringing of

an unanswered call.

• Use automatic light timers. Set them to turn lights on and off in different rooms at different

times.

• Park a car in your driveway. If you plan to be gone for just a few days, park your second car

in the driveway or ask a neighbor to park a car in your driveway. This not only gives the

impression you are home but also stops burglars from backing up a van and loading your

possessions.

Also, set up a vacation watch with the Lake Center Business Of.ice. This is when security checks

on your home during the night hours. To set up a vacation watch, call the Lake Center Business

Of.ice at (951) 277-7059.

*Reminder*The trash pickup

day is Monday.

Trash cans may

be set out the day

before and after

pickup. Other

than those times,

Friendly Reminder Motorized vehicles, including golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds, may only be operated by those persons with a valid driver’s license.

December Holiday Decorations!!!

The December holiday decorations may be set up 45 days before the holiday. This means November 11, 2014.

Holiday decorations must be removed 20 days after the end of the holidays, January 14, 2014.

Holiday decorations must be turned off each night at 11:00 p.m.

Management understands that some residents like to place holiday decorations on their front lawn. Please note that if

you do place holiday decorations on your front lawn, the H.O.A. will not maintain your lawn in order to preserve your

decorations. If you would like to know when your canyon is being maintained please check the community website at

Board Broadcast

The "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in 1621. This feast lasted three days. It became an official Federal holiday in 1863. During the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwells in the Heavens"; to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26th. Thanksgiving Day, continues to be celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. Let us be mindful of our blessings; thankful for the love and joy that surrounds us and our family during this season. Your TGMA Board of Directors and Management wish you a “Happy and Safe Thanksgiving”. The Board and Management want to take this opportunity to say “THANK YOU” to our residents for their cooperation in allowing the street slurry and striping to be completed with minimal difficulties. With all major projects, there are always some inconveniences. We appreciate your support in performing our duties; that of maintaining the highest value of your investment here in Trilogy. We want to remind you that the annual Trilogy at Glen Ivy Boutique, sponsored by the Sunshine Clubs will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Invite your friends and family to come early and enjoy the Breakfast Café or lunch at the Hot Dog Bar. Many outside vendors will be participating. Perhaps you will find the unique holiday gift for that special person on your list.

October Board Actions and Decisions: • The board approved a contract with SCT Reserves to perform a Level Three (3) Reserve Study for

the following: TGMA Master Association, the Cobblestone Special Benefit Area and the Cobblestone Elevator Special Benefit Area. The total cost is $1,650 for three studies. Costs will be paid from the Reserve Study Consultant Service account for each entity.

• The Board approved the proposed Lifestyles Events Budget for the Fiscal 2015/2016 year. This

funding request will be presented to TGIS for consideration during their 2015/16 budget planning session.

• Approved a contract with Valley Crest for removal of 5 trees in various areas throughout the

community, at a cost not to exceed $2,105. Funds will be expended from the Operating Account - Tree Replacement and Tree Replacement - Home Owner Account.

• Management discovered one surveillance camera in the lobby and a second one located in the upstairs fitness equipment room at the Blue Water Sports Club were no longer working. Board contracted with Firstline Security Systems for the replacement of the two cameras at a cost not to exceed $1,109.30 to be paid from the Reserve Account-Sports Club Reserve.

• After investigating complaints concerning the avocado V-ditch and splash wall behind some of the homes in the community, management has recommended the board retain a structural engineer to perform an evaluation and technical report with recommendations for the repair. A contract was approved with Jerusalem Consulting Engineering at a cost not to exceed $1,500. To be expended from Operating Budget-Capital Project.

• The high water pressure from the golf course is causing the new Sigma Filters to leak. Therefore, it is necessary to install a pressure reducing master valve in front of filter #1 at a cost not to exceed $3,087.20, to be expensed from Operating Account, Irrigation Repairs.

• Board approved a contract with Paul Davis Company to replace damaged counter tops at the Lake Center Women’s and Men’s restrooms with granite at a cost not to exceed $2,480, to be expended from Lake Center Reserve Account.

• In accordance with the recommendation by the traffic engineering firm, the Board approved the installation of a third speed cushion at the bottom of Cuyamaca at the October 7, 2014 meeting. The additional cost will be $1,867; to be expended from Operating Budget-Capital Project.

Management is continuing its effort with the golf course owners (court appointed receiver) to repair Lake 16 and awaiting news on what course of action may be taken. The next General Session meeting of the TGMA Board of Directors will be on November 4, 2014, in the Pacific Crest Lodge Ballroom at 6:00 PM. TGIS BOARD REPORT The TGIS (Trilogy at Glen Ivy Community Services) meeting is on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Lake Center. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The TGIS Board of Directors have the responsibility of creating and developing new programs and activities for the residents of our community. Our goal is to do the best job adding to everyone's fun and fulfilling lifestyle here for Trilogy at Glen Ivy.

In our recent board meeting, we discussed or funded the following activities: 1. The new Trilogy website that TGIS is supporting will be operational soon. The TGMA Communication Committee will be asking for volunteers to test the website and give suggestions before the change-over. 2. Financial support for the Sunshine Clubs was approved. Each canyon Sunshine Club received a grant equivalent to $5.00 per residence. This money can be used for social activities intended to improve the lifestyle within each canyon. At the end of the fiscal year, TGIS will evaluate the program and plan for the next budget year. 3. Funding was approved for the World Fest Club event, Sheriff Volunteers and Emergency Preparedness. 4. A new TGIS Creative Committee was approved for the purpose of creating a marketing and advertising program which will promote the community to the general public. This is a valuable project because of the economic conditions and the lack of promotion of our community since the builder left. We are searching for a resident with marketing and advertising career experience to help us decide how to market our Trilogy at Glen Ivy community. The committee will also create and promote lifestyle activities for our community. 5. The gate camera project was discussed and referred to TGMA for consideration. 6. The balance of TGIS funds as of August 31, 2014 was $642,266. 7. The TGIS Annual meeting and election was completed and the officers of the Board are Bill Brewster as President, Jane Snider as Vice President, Janice Walker as Secretary, John Cosgrove as CFO and John Perry as Assistant CFO. We are here to help make TGIS and Trilogy at Glen Ivy a great part of everyone's life. We continue to ask for suggestions that will improve our lives here at Trilogy. Again, the five categories are: 1. Clubs and Social Activities. 2. Health and Wellness. 3. Communication and Technology. 4. Educational and Academic. 5. Environmental.

Committee/Program Reports NEWS FROM THE TGIS TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

The TGIS Transportation Committee is in the early stages of planning a way for residents who cannot drive to nearby shopping centers to arrange for transportation. One concept under consideration would be to post in a central location the dates and times, and destination locations residents who can drive, plan to visit in a particular week; residents interested in visiting the same locations, but unable or unwilling to drive would contact the driver and arrange to travel together. We have two questions: 1. If you no longer drive and there was a group of residents who were willing to provide transportation service to nearby

shopping centers, supermarkets, and department stores at specific times, would you use such a service? 2. If you still drive, would you be willing to be a volunteer driver to provide such a service? Your feedback is important! Please address your responses to:

Committee/Program Reports…

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS/NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Thank you to all of our numerous volunteers that made our California Shakeout Drill a success! As with any drill, there is a learning process involved. This year, the focus for our committee was to practice communicating a problem – providing a solution –then communicating that back down the line. As always, sometimes it worked as you would hope and then in other instances, it didn’t work. Now we know what our next steps need to be. In developing the problems to be solved, I also added another component to our plan. A while back, we had begun to organize a ‘team of residents with a medical/nursing background’. This was great until one of the key leaders had to deal with a family issue and so – - - - Our goal for the next few months is to get the residents with these skills together – have 1 or 2 of them agree to lead this area and stabilize what we can and can’t do. One of them would need to become an EP/NW committee member and lead their team. Contact Jane Snider if you are interested or have questions.

GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB

The Trilogy Good Neighbor Club (GNC) was proud to present “The Christian Edition” Men’s Chorus last month in a performance held in the Sierra Ballroom of the Trilogy Lodge. This delightful musical event was attended by some 125 Trilogy residents and their guests, who thoroughly enjoyed this versatile and widely-traveled group of adult men directed by Calvin Knipschild, who came all the way from Washington State to lead his talented vocal performers. The GNC plans to have this highly acclaimed Christian musical group come back soon for a return command performance. Stay in touch! The GNC has scheduled another great, free musical event for Tuesday, November 11th at the Trilogy Ballroom. This will be a repeat performance by California Baptist University's Small Chorus Group, comprised largely of talented students from CBU's outstanding Music Department. They were a hit at last year's performance singing uplifting Christian music and hymns. Pick up a flyer in the mailroom, and put this on your calendar. Your Good Neighbor Club will also be hosting the third annual Christmas dinner for Trilogy residents on Tuesday, December 9th. This by-invitation dinner is fast becoming a tradition here at Trilogy and really gets everyone into the festive Christmas season. Corona High School's talented Madrigal Singers have once again agreed to provide the evening's musical entertainment. Look forward to this fantastic event as well.

WORLD FEST CLUB

Trilogy’s 10th Oktoberfest was held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the Lodge. The event was very successful and everybody had a good time. Prior to the dinner we had appetizers available in the Lodge’s lobby. Peter Geburth, accordionist, provided music for the guests. An exhibition of contemporary paintings by Eva Maria Matte , Hungarian artist and poet was provided. Guests enjoyed a dinner with plenty of bratwurst, apple strudel, beer and wine. After the dinner, the Danube Swabian (Bavarian) Dance Ensemble presented choreographed German, Austrian and Danube Swabian folk dances. Al Wehrle’s famous Oompah Band did an excellent job of playing traditional German beer hall polkas, waltzes, and rock ‘n roll. We have a lot of people to thank - our volunteers and especially team leaders for their contribution in making the event a success. Marilyn Shaw and her team for the ballroom decoration, Sylvia Kessick for the ticket sale, Veena Sahay for administrative duties and E-Mail sending, Sharon Whitlock for managing the food, Bill and Sharon Mitchael and their team for manning the bar and their excellent service, and Paul Whitlock for designing the poster and flyer. We thank Yong Martinez for the preparation of the salad and appetizers, and Jim Pfeffer for leading the Schnitzelbank song and fun! Membership Drive: We are looking for new members in 2015. Our new membership party will be in January 2015. Our current members can also renew their memberships at that time. The club is open to all Trilogy residents. The World Fest Club is dedicating its efforts to promoting events with International flavor. As a member, you will have discounted tickets for all events. The membership runs from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015. The membership fee is only $12 per year. We look forward to seeing all of you in January 2015 and your participation in our fun events. POM “Landfill Raptor” by Judy Cheek

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

October’s Photo of the Month (POM) theme was “Flash Photography” and two photos were selected. The “Landfill Raptor” photo, taken by Judy Cheek at the El Sobrante Landfill, was the Novice category winner, and the “Cheer Fliers” photo, taken by Bill Zastrow at King High School, was the “Advanced” category winner. In the “Other” category, Bill Zastrow’s photo of a King High School football player and Judy Cheek’s photo of Yellowstone Canyon were selected. Topics of discussion included how flash was used to enhance the Photo of the Month submissions and ideas for future meeting presentations and Photo of the Month themes. If you’ve ever wanted a copy of one of the Photography Club’s photos, the Club will be hosting a booth at Trilogy’s Boutique on November 8. Offered for sale will be a 2015 calendar featuring photo’s selected by the Club during 2014 as winners in various categories. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM in the Lake Center. November’s Photo of the Month theme will be “Around Trilogy”. TRILOGY SHERIFF VOLUNTEER

The Trilogy volunteers patrolled 165 hours throughout the community last month. This is on track with our objectives considering vacations and illnesses.

New more user-friendly radios were distributed at the September meeting. We thank TGIS; the radios are smaller, clearer, and much easier to operate.

The Trilogy Sheriff Volunteers participated in the 2014 Great Shakeout Drill on October 16, 2014, beginning at 10 AM. The drills help to prepare for efficiency in response to emergencies and disasters after an earthquake.

The September Crime Report for Temescal Valley - Trilogy provided by Riverside County Sheriff Department included 2 residential burglaries, 2 vehicle thefts, and 4 petty thefts. Only 1 of these events was in Trilogy. (See the detailed info on mytgi.com)

TRILOGY VERTERANS CLUB

TVC kicks off new Club year with a Sunday Brunch feast at Sizzlers, September 21….

TVC member Paul Jacobson gave a pictorial presentation of his recent visit to Normandy, France. He visited the memorial cemetery, a number of churches and monuments, and the beaches where the Allied Forces made their decisive landing on June 6, 1944 that led to the ending of WWII. It was a moving experience and reminds us of the sacrifice made by our brave soldiers where over 4,400 heroes gave their life to protect our freedom.

TVC Members Meeting – September

TVC has donated over $1,500 to WWP

Trilogy Veterans Club Member Meetings are scheduled for the LAST TUESDAY of each month – Lake Center.

"Birthdays for Charity"

The "Birthdays for Charity" group will have our second luncheon on Thursday,

November 6, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Pacific Crest Lodge. We will have a

speaker from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We will enjoy a delicious

Mexican style meal. ($5.00) BYOB or drink. The vision of this group is to help

others by donating money to a worthy charity instead of receiving gifts for

ourselves. In August, we were able to send a check to the Wounded Warrior

Project for $1,700 because of the generosity of our Trilogy residents.

If you would like to attend this luncheon, please make a check out for $5.00 to

Patti Blyleven & place it in the mailbox by her front door in Saddleback

Canyon. Bring your donation for St. Jude's on November 6th.

For more information contact Karen Gross, Patti Blyleven or Sally Wieringa.

Canyon Updates… COBBLESTONE CANYON

With the All Canyon Chili Cook-off and our Luau behind us, it is now time to focus on the upcoming annual Trilogy Boutique on November 8th. This year, our Canyon is in charge of “Facilities” which means we act as “hostesses” to the vendors and shoppers in addition to providing transportation to and from the Lodge and the parking areas. I know this year’s Boutique will be another successful one for the Sunshine Clubs. A big thank you to all the organizers and all the canyon participants who help make this a fun and exciting day!

Our September block party was overflowing with new neighbors and lots of good Italian food. We had over 53 residents join us and everyone enjoyed the last potluck of the year. Thanks to Elaine and Maria for all their work on these great get togethers!

The October Luncheon was well attended and beautifully decorated as usual by Pat and Patty. Just look at those awesome pumpkins! It’s always so much fun to see the “tablescapes” each month! Our next luncheon is November 13 at BJ’s.

Our next events include a tour of Benedict Castle and lunch at the Mission Inn on Monday, November 17th. On Friday, December 5th, a Holiday Potluck will be held at the Lake Center. More information on this event will be sent by Evite.

Happy November everyone! And remember … “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, and a stranger into a friend.” … Melody Beattie

Canyon Updates… NOBEL CANYON

Our September Bar BQ dinner was a big hit. The food catered by Smoky Mountain Catering was delicious. The emcee of the evening, Kathie Burks did an outstanding job. Donna announced that Nobel Canyon has a new resident. Her name is Jodi Hatch and she lives on Roses Court. The western theme brought out several guests in their cowboy and cowgirl duds. There were four couples chosen for a run off for best outfits and the winners were Yvonne and Lewis Collins. Bill Stone donated one of his beautiful stained glass creations and the lucky and delighted winner was Grant Griffin. George Schiro was the winner of two drawings and Dorine Gaard was the lucky recipient of a gift card to Chili’s Restaurant. All in all, everyone had a YAHOO good time thanks to the efforts of all the Sunshine Ladies and Smoky Mountain Catering. Our September meeting finalized our menu for the Boutique Breakfast Café November 8th. Before you shop the Boutique, fortify yourself with our delicious breakfast offerings - Breakfast casserole, French toast casserole, bacon and egg muffins, bagels and cream cheese, and biscuits and gravy. There will also be juice, tea and FREE COFFEE. Four different homemade soups will be available to eat in or take home. You won’t want to miss starting your day off right. The café will be open from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm or until the food runs out. The sale of a few holiday craft items is still in the planning stage. Hopefully time will permit getting these made in time.

Canyon Updates… MODJESKA CANYON

CANYON LUNCHEON : At our September luncheon, we welcomed new resident May K. along with the other hardy neighbors who braved the heat to come out for conversation, laughter and a chance to win prizes. Hope to see you at the next one!! Be sure to contact Judy Cheek to get on the luncheon notification list as the holiday months (November and December) sometimes create opportunities for schedule changes. AROUND THE CANYON : We have a number of new neighbors. A big Modjeska Canyon welcome to:

Robert and Vitoria Olsen Clifford and Darlene Self John and Karen Lisser Scott and Carol Nichols

If you are a new resident who hasn’t yet received your welcome packet, contact Susan Fischetti, Nonette Allen, or Priscilla Williams. The welcome packet contains a great gift and lots of good information about Trilogy and our canyon events. And ladies, we encourage you to attend the monthly canyon luncheons (see article at top of page); it’s another great way to meet your neighbors.

New Neighbor May

SUPPER CLUB: It’s over for this year, but it’s not too early to sign up and get in on the fun starting again in January 2015. What is the Supper Club? It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors in an informal, small group setting. The supper club is made of groups of 3 to 4 randomly assigned couples who meet for dinner over a three month period. Each couple takes a turn playing host, usually providing the location and the main course, with the other couples providing side dishes. What could be better than sharing food, fun and camaraderie with neighbors? Contact Linda Wolff for more info and to get your name on the Supper Club list.

SUNSHINE CLUB: Do you know of a neighbor in need? The Modjeska Canyon Sunshine Club can help. Contact Susan Fischetti, Nonette Allen, Priscilla Williams or any Sunshine Club member. Among the services the Club can provide are visits to new neighbors, assisting the bereaved, and providing meals/visits/plants/cards when someone is sick.

DID YOU KNOW – you can view photos of past Modjeska Canyon events by clicking the link on the Modjeska Canyon page of the TGI Website. Go to: http://www.mytgi.com, click “Canyons”, then click “Modjeska Canyon News”.

Canyon Updates… COLDWATER CANYON Coldwater Canyon enjoyed another memorable ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY in late September put on by our Sunshine Club under the direction of Lois DeKeyser, 2014 President with a dedicated supportive committee. A NIGHT OF BEER AND BRATS IN OLD BAVARIA...Games, Prizes, Ompah music, karaoke, and of course Line Dancing. A gathering of old and plenty of new enthusiastic neighbors. We had fun, lots of laughs, as always. CC never fails to light up the room with blazing energy. Our Sunshine Committee is always on top of details and this night was staged to perfection, like all our Block Parties of the past have been. CC residents agree the one common thread for all of us...we love living here. Including the Kahlke's...they attempted to move away...they did, not for long...they're back! This place is a hard act to follow.
