To install this theme you must have a working version of Prestashop already installed. For information in regard to installing the Prestashop platform, please see the Prestashop User Guide

1. Installation – Import from Preferences > Themes (recommended)1. Login to your back-office and go to Preferences - Themes. 2. Click on “Add new theme”

3. Select the zip with theme, click on “Save”

If you receive some error about uploading zip file, try to copy the theme zip manually into your FTP to /themes/ folder and then use “Import from FTP“ option.

4. In section “Select a theme”, find novus and click on “Use this theme“

5. Confirm the modules setup

6. Go to "Preferences" → Images, and recheck that you have image preferences setup according to the following screenshot:

On the same screen, click on Regenerate thumbnails

7. In Preferences – Themes, switch off default mobile theme. Novus is already responsive. Change “Navigation pipe” if necessary.

8. Go to Modules > Positions. Edit all modules in displayLeftColumn and make sure all modules have empty “Exceptions“ field. If there is any text, delete it:

Now the theme is installed and you need to configure it's modules.

2. Configuration of modules

Novus theme is provided with several additional modules that should be configured.

In first section of this module, you can enable/disable theme related modules or go to their configuration screen to setup them.

In the other part you can upload images to the homepage (use WPBANNER hook). The size of images for homepage is 409x 220 px

Prepare images 848 x 356 px (you can use PSD template slide.psd located in PSD folder of theme zip archive). In Prestashop administration go to Modules, find "Novus image slider" and click on Configure to upload images or change transition effect, etc.

Novus manufacturer logos in footer

Go to Back Office > Modules, find „Responsive manufacturer logos in footer“ module and click „Configure“.

The module provides following options:

1. Select size of logo – you can choose the size of manufacturers logos. The default size is “small_default“ which already exists in Prestashop and by default is set to 45 x 45px. If you want to use custom size for manufacturers logo, you need to choose “manufacturerlogo“ size. Before saving the configuration page with “manufacturerlogo“ size, you need to createthis new image size in Back Office > Preferences > Image. Click on Add new and setup the configuration as follows. In this example we set the height and width to 60px but you can change this value as required. The name MUST BE manufacturerlogo. After saving this new image size, do not forget to regenerate thumbnails on the same screen.

2. Transition – Indicates which effect to use for the transition 3. Visible items - The number of visible items. 4. Scroll items - The number of items to scroll. 5. Duration - Determines the duration of the transition in milliseconds. 6. Pause - The amount of milliseconds the carousel will pause. 7. Auto start - Determines whether the carousel should scroll automatically or not 8. Random – Carousel will start from random position 9. Circular - Determines whether the carousel should be circular. 10.Infinite - Determines whether the carousel should be infinite. 11.Note: It is possible to create a non-circular, infinite carousel, but it is not possible to create

a circular, non-infinite carousel. 12.Mouseover pause - Determines whether the timeout between transitions should be

paused

Novus Theme Options

In this module you can setup custom colors for your theme and enable / disable left and right columns for mobile devices.

Footer modules

Footer is created using several modules. Most of them can be cofigured:

Information column – configuration of CMS Block module

Store Information column – configuration of Contact information block

Follow us column – configuration of Social networking block

Modules positions (only if you need to check the setup, normally covered by theme import)

Make sure to have the same modules positions. Use „Transplant a module“ link to place modules that are not already hooked in the section according to screenshots. Use “Unhook the selection” button on top of screen or delete icon if you need to remove some modules from the list. You can find out more about managing modules here.

(All sidebar modules are in displayLeftColumn).displayRightColumn should be empty.

3. Tips

Problems with Internet Explorer ?

Internet Explorer browsers may cause an issue due to a limitation of external cascading style sheets set to 30. This might be an issue in modular web sites like Prestashop. Some templates may reach this limit by overriding many modules css files. To solve it, you can go to Advanced Parameters → Performance → CCC (Combine, Compress and Cache) and set "Smart cache for CSS" to "Use CCC for CSS".

Recommended settings

Problems with product tabs on homepage

If you experience any issue with product tabs on homepage, go to this section and “Clear cache”.

Using logo in PNG format (transparent)

With default settings, Prestashop supports logo only in JPEG format. In order to allow PNG logo, goto Preferences → Images and setup as follows:

Then you will be able to upload also PNG logo. You can still use JPEG as well.
