TERM 2 WEEK 4 Tuesday 19th May 2020 COMING UP ON OUR SCHOOL CALENDAR MAY 20th NDIS + ECEI Virtual Connection Desk 22nd Virtual Assembly 27th NDIS + ECEI Virtual Connection Desk JUNE 8th Public Holiday Principals Report As we move further into the cooler days, it is great to see our children back at school looking smart in our blue MPS uniform. The expectation is the return to school will be ratified this week with an announcement from the NSW Department of Education, in response to the Premiers media release. As soon as we receive official notification, we will relay the policy on studentsmandatory return to school to all families. Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued respect of the policies and work practices of the current times. Supporting your child with their education at home is a very important role. We all hope that life will shortly return to a more regular procedure regarding your childs schooling. We still request that all students are picked up at the top gate on Wallace Street and parents wait to collect your children in the designated area. On an eco-friendly note, please be aware we have decided to become more environmentally- conscious by introducing paperless newsletters from now on. The newsletter format will be very similar and will be available for you to read on our School website, your personal email and our School Facebook each week. If you need a paper copy, ask your child to pick up a printed version from the School Office. Please ensure we have your current email details by calling the school office on 6568 1800. A reminder to families that our School Canteen is currently open each day between 1-2pm with a limited menu. Lunch orders are unavailable at this stage. Again, we all hope for this situation to change for the better in the near future. Lastly, we hope, as you arrive at school, you can see the many changes happening inside the fence, in readiness for all our Macksville Public students returning. A fresh coat of paint is now reviving our timber buildings, contrasting beautifully with the work done in our gardens. Work on the bank between the primary and infants areas is back underway as well. Our school flag area is also being replanted and mulched, with pavers around, making it easier for the students on flag duty each day. Wishing all families a great week as we near the middle of Term 2. Stay tuned for updates on our School website and Facebook pages. ~ Principal - Anthony Buckley NOW ACCEPTING KINDERGARTEN 2021 ENROLMENTS School tours available upon appointment.
