Saturday, September 13 th  - Shooting Range Park, Albuquerque, NM As part of the 2014 National Police Shooting Championships NRA will be hosting an invitational handgun match, which is sponsored by Remington Law Enforcement, Ergo Grip and Brownell’s PoliceStore.com, for New Mexico officers who do not have a permanent Police Pistol Combat (PPC) Classificati on. This match allows new s hooters to fire a PPC event and compete against others who are also new to the sport. Competitors who’ve taken part in previous New Mexico Challenge events may shoot under the Alumni Special Category even if they have already established their PPC Classification. Rules are simple: all you need is your duty handgun, hols ter, magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunit ion. No need for duty ammunition, inexpensive practice, or training ammo is fine. There will be NRA Trophy Awards for the top shooters and law enforcement Category Trophy Awards, such as Municipal, State, Federal, and Security. Based on registration numbers, we may also have Special Category Trophy Awards for Detectives, Conservation Officers, Special Operations, Patrol Officers, and awards by rank. Team Event: Challenge officers from your rival Squad, Division, Unit, District, or your best friends. There will be un-fired team matches for 2 and 4 officer teams. Just tell us before you shoot w ho your teammate is and we will combine your individual scores to get your team score. To sign up call NRA Law Enforcement Competitions at 703.267.1632 or go to http://npsc.nra.org to get the registration form. COURSE OF FIRE For the New Mexico Challenge we will be using the NRA Law Enforcement Stock Semi-Automatic Pistol Course of Fire. Designed to be fired using standard-issue police duty handguns and gear, it is also fired as part of the National Police Shooting Championships. It’s easy to practice, hones your handling and accuracy skills, and does not require a lot of ammunition.        Target:  NRA B-27 Target / Face Value Scoring. Equipment: Duty handgun, magazines, ammunition pouch, and holster. Course: An aggregate of the below stages. All magazines loaded with 6 rounds. Stage 1: 3 Yards - Standing, fire 6 rounds one handed without support in 8 seconds. Stage 2: 7 Yards - Standing, fire 6 rounds, speed reload and fire 6 additional rounds, using one or two hands in 20 seconds . Stage 3: 15 Yards - Standing, fire 6 rounds, speed reload and fire 6 additional rounds, using one or two hands i n 20 seconds. Stage 4: 25 Yards - Using a barricade for Cover and Support, fire 6 rounds kneeling, 6 rounds standing left hand from behind the barricade, and 6 rounds standing right hand from behind the barricade in 90 seconds.
