Here are some pictures of our recent event that we partnered with The Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities (NGCDD) in collaboration with the City of Mesquite De-partment of Athletics & Leisure Services.

The event was an excellent opportunity for community members to connect with local organiza-tions committed to serving and supporting those with disabilities. Guest speakers from Silver State Housing Council and Nevada SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) shared information on a vari-ety of topics. Rebuilding All Goals Efficiently and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Advocacy Resource Center and Aging and Disability Services were also be in attendance. The event included work-shops, speakers, resource tables, snacks, and free flu shots for all attendees.

“As the pool of resources gets seemingly smaller, it is becoming even more important to partner with others like Nicholas Montoya, Associate Director for the Department of Athletics & Leisure Services with the City of Mesquite; in order to get the word out. By bringing appropriate state agencies and non-profit organizations together and inviting the public, our collaborators hope to reach populations that may not have access to community supports otherwise,” says NGCDD, Projects Manager Billie Kale.

The Nevada Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (NGCDD) engages in advocacy, systems change, and capacity building activities for people with developmental disabilities and their families in order to promote equal opportunity, self-determination, and community inclu-sion. Throughout the year, in the form of P.A.C.E. Events, NGCDD has brought awareness throughout the state of Nevada. These events seek to educate and inform individuals with de-velopmental disabilities, their families and professionals about services and supports in their local communities

"This was a great event and we were very grateful of the attendance from the community, Billie and her group did a great job and we were happy to be apart of it and help them in any possi-ble" said Nicholas Montoya"
