Average of 5 evolve case studies = 5% Average of 4 quizzes= 10% of grade Mid-term Exam= 35% of grade HESI Mental Health Exam= 10% of grade Cumulative Final Exam= 40% of grade Total=100%

Clinical Information
Clinical starts Monday 8/27 A Session Monday group starts at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital
(TPH) Wednesday group starts at Princeton House Saturday and Sunday groups (Online students) start at

Theory
Assigned textbook readings should be completed prior to lecture

Weekly Quizzes Weekly Quizzes: A short 5 question quiz will be
administered prior to the start of each lecture class (weeks 1, 2, 4 & 5). These quizzes will be based on the weekly assigned textbook readings and will test factual knowledge. Students will have 10 minutes to complete the quiz. The quizzes will comprise 10% of the class grade. There may be a dosage calculation problem on each of the quizzes. If a student arrives late to the class and misses the quiz, there will be no opportunity for a make-up quiz and a grade of 0 will be given for that quiz.
These quizzes are administered online for the online course students (see course outline for more information)
Evolve Case Studies
Evolve Homepage: http://evolve.elsevier.com Need username & password Use course ID number given to you last semester You will be required to complete 5 assigned case
studies. The scores earned on the case studies will reflect as 5% of your grade for NRS 122.

HESI Mental Health Exam This standardized web-based exam is given at the end of
the course and must be taken to successfully complete the course. Students will be required to complete the “Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing” practice test which is located on the evolve website at http://evolve.elsevier.com under the “case studies with practice test” section prior to sitting for the HESI exam. The percentage score for this exam will be calculated into your final grade for the course (10%).
