    Paging Coordination

Paging will success when in PS connection by forwarding CS paging to handset via PS channels. Reduced churn among PS service users. Reduced Help Desk Calls of operator due to no ringing 5% paging success rate improvement seen with current PS services, with new services and handsets gain is expected to raise. Flexi BSC needs the Gs interface for full paging coordination support. The Gs interface is used in Network Operation Mode I (NOM I). In Network Operation Mode I (NOM I), the core network provides CS paging coordination so that CS paging requests to GPRS-attached MSs are sent to the PCU via the SGSN. The PCU provides CS paging on the packet associated control channel (PACCH) if the MS is in packet transfer mode. If the MS is in packet idle mode, it is paged for CS calls on the PCH.

No lost incoming CS calls with PS services.

OSC Half Rate with SAIC MSDoubled Channel Capacity for Voice with legacy SAIC+AMR Handsets

through applying 4G technology in the 2G BTS

Low cross-correlation in Training Sequence Pair enables multiplexing of two users in UL and DL

Downlink uses QPSK modulation with each sub-channel detectable in SAIC MS as normal GMSK

Uplink based on V-MIMO applied for normal GMSK OSC can be applied for TCH/HR to provide 4x HR

Channels per radio timeslot ~ Double Half Rate Fewer TRX (+ related hardware) are required for OSC:

4 OSC TRXs may provide capacity equiv. ~ 6..8 TRXs Reduced combining losses Fewer required Sites Energy Efficient solution, reducing the total BTS power

TRX Specific Link Adaptation for DLDC

Description: The radio conditions of the individual carriers belonging to a Downlink Dual Carrier configuration are typically different

Consequently, it is beneficial to adapt the employed MCS codingschemes separately, based on the carrier wise measurement reports

Benefits: Enhanced throughput for Services Improved End user experience

    DFCA support for OSC

OSC has bit higher demand on C/I than AMR which DFCA is able to optimize also in loaded network conditions.

OSC introduces more channels for DFCA to play with. so optimal one may be easier to found without blocking.

DFCA also excels on selection of optimal training sequence.

Better efficiency with combination of two innovative features.

    OSC support for VAMOS RG30

3PP Rel9 VAMOS handsets will include support for new training sequences (set 2) providing some link gains over current set 1.

When allocating to OSC BSC checks handset Classmark3 and allocates training sequence accordingly.

New MS capability is exploited with OSC.

    AQPSK with VAMOS 2 handsets

Different Sub Channel powers are provided by AQPSK. Advanced receiver in VAMOS 2 handsets is needed to cope with lower

sub channel power. Higher power sub channel may be used for legacy handset if coexists
