Frequently asked questions
What is being delivered in the Merrylands Public School?We are excited to announce that Stage One of the Merrylands Public School upgrade is completed. This exciting project has delivered 10 flexible learning spaces, tiered seating adjacent to the oval and a new toilet block.
Where do students meet their teachers in the mornings? For the first week of Term 4, all students will meet their teachers in the playground and be taken to their classrooms. Students relocating to the new building will line up in the playground area adjacent to the covered walkway. They will assemble in the same area after school.
Will there be any changes to the kiss and drop zone?The existing kiss and drop zone on Holdsworth Street will continue to operate as usual, please see the site plan for more information. Discussions will be commencing soon with local council regarding travel management upgrades. The school will be kept informed of planned traffic changes.
Will there be any changes to the bus stop zone?The existing bus stop on Fowler Road will continue to operate as usual.
Will there be any changes to the school entrances?Students will continue to enter via the two entrances on Mathew Street and the two entrances on Holdsworth Street. The Fowler Road entrance will be closed until the car park works are completed.
What construction works will take place in Term 4?Construction works to deliver Stage Two of the upgrade, the new staff car park, will continue through Term 4. We anticipate the car park will be completed during Term 4.
What are the construction hours for the remaining works?Works will continue in accordance with the Development Application conditions. The hours of construction are 7.00am – 5.00pm on weekdays, and 8.00am – 1.00pm on Saturdays. No works will take place on Sundays or Public Holidays.
When will the project be completed?The Merrylands Public School upgrade is expected to be completed by late 2019.
