Customer Charge ($80.00 per meter ): a at, xed rate

designed to cover NEC’s cost for poles, wires, transformers,

and equipment. It also supports eet, facility, customer serviceand administrave funcons, such as line maintenance, tree

clearing, safety equipment, and general administrave respon-

sibilies.

Distribuon Charge (1.8¢ per kWh): costs varies with

the amount of energy NEC delivers over the power lines. Ifyou use less electricity, these charges go down, but if you use

more, this poron of your bills goes up.

Transmission Charge (.84¢/kWh): NEC distribuon area

consumers have a pass-through charge from our power gen-

eraon partner, South Texas Electric Cooperave (STEC) this

charge includes no mark-up by NEC – as the Co-op is charged,our members are charged.

System Beneft Fund (.065¢ kWh): Fee which allows

low-income NEC members access to “Texas’ LITE UP Texas

program” to assis with summer electric bills.

Electricity Delivery RatesThree-Phase: Residenal & Small Commercial

Special Charges: (NEC does not mark-up these charges).

Members in San Juan and Ben Bolt also pay a street lighng charge of

$0.75 per month.

If you have residentail service in a former AEP delivery area, you will have

AEP Transion Charges totaling 1.5¢/kWh. NEC has been directed by the

Public Ulity Commission of TX to collect and sends these funds to AEP.

Three-phase service uses (3) delivery wires to

provide power to your residence or business. It is

available to Members with less than 35 kW peak

demand* per wire.

Most larger homes, businesses, and ranches fall

into this catagory. Specically, three-phase service

is used:

1. for larger domesc uses associated with the

operaon of a single- or mul-family residenal

installaon

2. for large farming, ranching, and commercial

uses other than oil well pumping and coon

gins; and

3. schools, churches and community halls.

moment.
