Welcome toAsia Pacific Smart School
Welcome
It gives us great pleasure to share with our stakeholders what Asia Pacific Smart School (APSS) offers as a private school with a difference under the National Curriculum.
We strongly believe in nurturing our children in an interactive, creative and enriching learning environment, and are committed to values and practices that promote and develop students’ learning, leadership and confidence which prepares them for their role as global citizens.
In addition to our Vision – to be the model of a true smart school through our innovative teaching & learning approach to education, and our Mission - to adopt the above practices so that our children can be nurtured with the relevant knowledge, competencies, skills and positive attitudes for life in a global community, APSS is also guided by our 5 principles: Academic Excellence, Character Building, Civic Mindedness, Health & Sports and Languages & Communication.
At APSS, the academic staff is dedicated, committed and passionate in caring for, and developing the holistic well-being of our children so that they can not only impart good education and direct our children on the right path in life, but also inspire our children to discover their own path of talents, critical thinking, respect and integrity as responsible adults.
We sincerely believe that our school has built a strong foundation since its commencement in 2006, to provide and nurture our children with very encouraging high academic and sporting success as well as an interest in the performing arts.
We look forward to many challenging years as part of Asia Pacific Schools (APS) which offers the National Curriculum at APSS under the flagship of the APIIT Education Group.

APSS will provide a stimulating environment that allows our students to enjoy the learning experience and excel in their studies. The facilities available at APSS will strongly complement students’ potential where talents are unlocked and accelerated in academia, in the liberal arts, in the sciences, technology and sports. This great balance between academic and other aspects of education would ultimately provide the student with a comprehensive and holistic nurturing process.
The school’s warm and friendly environment will also benefit your child. This promotes camaraderie between students and makes everyone feel like they’re part of one big family. What’s more, our dedicated teachers further contribute to this environment by motivating and encouraging students in interesting ways, to make the entire learning process fun.
We truly believe all these ingredients combined will help unlock your child’s true potential. In doing so, it will also shape them into well-rounded members of society, equipped with the relevant knowledge, competencies, skills and attitude to live successfully in a global community. The Learning Environment At APSS, we are aware of how important it is to create the right learning environment to get the best outcomes. Teachers, teaching methods, facilities must all combine to stir a child’s interest and make them want to excel at their tasks. APSS is continuously focused on providing such an environment – from the core curriculum and beyond.
What differentiates APSS is our approach in preparing our students to meet challenges. One key factor is our low student to teacher ratio. That means more attention given to every student in the classroom. We understand that each student is unique, and our teachers pay attention to such individual needs.
Another approach is to encourage learning through discovery because the best learning often takes place through problem solving.
By providing a conducive environment for learning, our students not only gain knowledge but also discover new interests and begin to unlock the potential that they possess.
To further help them do so, we encourage them to make full use of our ICT labs and other amenities to foster their creativity and talents.
Here at APSS, our students are taught based on the National Curriculum. Focusing on their academic excellence, we carefully nurture and prepare students to sit for their UPSR, PT3 & SPM examinations, to ensure they get the best possible results. Our curriculum also goes beyond academic excellence, exposing our students to a wide range of non-examination subject areas, to holistically enhance their skills and education.
The National Curriculum at APSS is based on the Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah (KSSR) and the Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menegah (KSSM) which was implemented in 2011. This curriculum incorporates the School Based Assessment (SBA) where students are graded on an on-going formative and summative assessments at the end of each year. In addition, APSS also continues with the teaching of Mathematics and Science in English, as per the Ministry of Education’s latest Dual Language Policy.
Although the main medium of instruction is Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics and Science as well as ICT and Design and Technology are being taught in English at all levels, the School community is totally English speaking.

The Quality of Our Teachers Great teachers make a great school. With that as a cornerstone, from the very beginning APSS’s policy has been to employ teachers who meet the standards we have set.
It does not end there. Our teachers are also regularly evaluated to upgrade their training and teaching methods. They provide a balance of work and fun in ways that encourage students to want to get involved in their lessons, increasing the rate at which they learn.
At APSS, our teachers’ dynamism and professionalism go beyond the classroom. They frequently communicate with parents through email on specific matters pertaining to students. This has proven to be an effective and efficient means of keeping parents involved with their child’s progress.
Overall, our teachers play a very important part in our students’ lives. It is their experience, dedication and passion that makes all the difference in helping APSS students unlock their true potential.

This will aid in their progress in school as they form work groups and find common interests that will help them later in life.

The School has a professionally trained and fully qualified Nurse. In order to provide first aid to any student who requires it, the School has a medically well-equipped room and parents will be informed through the Principal’s Office if their child is ill and needs to be collected from the School.
A registration and health related declaration form must be completed and submitted with your Application to the Admissions Office. Parents must inform the School of any changes in the child’s health or contact details.
The Evacuation and Fire Procedure Sheet is posted comprehensively throughout the School, especially in classrooms. Upon hearing the fire alarm, all visitors are requested to follow the prescribed procedure.
Emergency drills and evacuation practices take place on a regular basis. This is done to ensure that all personnel on campus are well prepared in the unlikely event of such emergencies. This is also required by the School’s procedures which are regularly reviewed.

Fire Emergency & Drills
At APSS, we place high priority on the health, safety and security of our students. We are one of the few schools which allow parents/guardians with the valid car stickers to drive into the compound of the School to drop their children at the designated areas. Nevertheless, there are strict rules to this and we continuously engage with parents for their support in implementing initiatives to further enhance security and safety.
Health, Safety and Security
All staff, students and visitors will be issued with an ID badge. This must be worn in a visible manner whilst on the School property. Visitors are required to sign in at the guardhouse desk and are issued with a visitor’s badge. All visitors must sign out and return the badges before leaving the premises. Any person without a proper ID will be addressed and directed back to the guardhouse to sign in.
APSS students are equipped with an access card, which needs to be tapped into the system the moment they enter the School doors. This then relays text messages to the parents who have registered their phone numbers with us that their children have arrived in School.
We also stress to parents that for safety and security reasons, APSS must be notified in advance of any changes in the child’s travelling arrangements. There will be no deviation from the usual arrangement unless APSS has received written notification from the parent of the child within 24 hours.
Latecomers into the School are required to sign an acknowledgement slip at the Principal’s office prior to entry into class.
APSS implements a 24-hour monitoring system through its security personnel, and the facilities are closed after 6pm. In situations where the child’s parents are delayed in picking the child after 6pm, the child is placed near the Security Guard post.
