The Cannon Air Force Baseand Clovis observations (ineastern New Mexico) reportedblowing dust and visibilityrestrictions by late morning onJanuary 22, 2012.
The MODIS 1km imagery for11:19am MST on January 22nddepicts the well-developeddust plume.
Lubbock (KLBB) was reportingone-half mile visibility withblowing dust and a peak windof 50 knots.

Thursday Gusty winds and low humidity across the eastern plains
