Check and Inject IM Epi An important article in the latest issue of JEMS magazine details the cost benefits of the Check and Inject IM epi in place of the extremely costly epi pens for anaphylaxis, as implemented by Seattle and King County, Washington. The project saves taxpayers $334,000 annually.

It’s good article for all of you to read. Pay particular attention to the checklist on page 3 as a reminder of the Check and Inject IM EPI procedure.

See chart on next page, reproduced courtesy of Seattle & King County Public Health.

As always, reach out to me with any questions.

Stay safe,

Paul http://www.jems.com/articles/print/volume-42/issue-6/features/king-county-wash-ems-saves-334-000-annually-by-switching-to-im-delivery-of-epi-by-emts.html

I am pleased to announce that we had our full service inspection on June 29 from the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of EMS.

We passed with flying colors, and not a SINGLE deficiency was issued! Thanks as always for all of your continued hard work.  Capt. Paul Morer

Members Discounts!

We are compiling a list of local merchants who offer discounts to NCAC members. Merchants currently offering discounts are listed here, and on our website in the “Members” area.

Please ask the local merchants whom you patronize if they would be willing to offer a discount to their local EMS volunteers. We will list them in our newsletters, on our website, and encourage our members to do business with them.

Supporting our local merchants will also help keep Nyack (and the other river villages) from turning into chain store wastelands.
