These basic topographic features are derived from public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of Worldview-2 image of 20/11/2013. All the images have been georeferenced using RPC´s files and the Aster GDEM, radiometrically enhanced and mosaiced. The estimated geometric accuracy of the image is 5 m CE90 and the geometric accuracy of the vector data complies with JRC requirements for 1:5.000 cartography, as it is based on visual interpretation of recognizable items onvery high resolution optical imagery. Only the area enclosed by the updated Area of Interest has been analyzed. Map produced on 14/06/2013 by Indra Sistemas S.A. under contract 257219 with the European Commission. All geographic information has limitations due to scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. The products are compliant with GIO-EMS non-rush Product Portfolio specifications. The core user of the map is International Committee of the Red Cross, Genève (Switzerland). The potential additional users of the map are humanitarian aid operators. The purpose of the requested analysis is to map the informal and formal settlements and the non-residential city structures of the city of NYALA to derive population estimates and population densities per sector to facilitate the planning and estimation of the needs for an urban water network. PLEASE NOTE: the population figures are derived from the digitized residential building blocks and from the percentage of built-up in each block. The number of building structures per household and the average number of people per household can help deriving these figures.
